About three years ago, I purchased a 2006 Town Car--a classic, the likes of which we won't see again. It is comfortable, fun to drive, and I have grown attached to it (just wish the mileage was better). So when the transmission started bumping between 1st and 2nd, I took it to Olathe Transmission for an opinion. They told me they could rebuild it and would guarantee the repair. I was torn about whether to put more money into a 17-year-old vehicle, but my affection for the car won the day. Less than a week later, it was repaired. The transmission shifts like it was brand new. With just over 200K miles, I figure it's good for at least another 150K, so I'll probably be gone before it is. This was not my first visit to Olathe Transmission. Several years ago, they recommended against trying to repair the transmission of a Civic, which had a chronic problem. AMAZING service at (Olathe Transmission Service). I got a Subaru STI that needed a new clutch and I went ahead and upgraded the whole kit (ACT kit- pressure plate/throwout bearing/light weight flywheel). Jason, Paul and the guys at the shop did an incredible job of removing/installing it. They even flush my old transmission and differential fluid out and replace with new oil I brought in free of charge. The price for the clutch install was very reasonable. Jason told me that if I drop my car off early Monday morning they would finish it up the very next day (Tuesday). I did exactly that and he kept his words, he called me (1:30pm-Tuesday afternoon) and said the car was done and I can pick it up anytime. Jason and his team are incredibly good, honest and reliable. Went to Olathe Ford....just new I was getting screwed. Called my landlord who's an LONG time Olathe resident. He recommended Paul at Olathe Transmission. Entered from the back of the shop. EXTREMELY clean and organized. The mechanics were nice. Asked for Paul, was told to go up front that he was on a test drive. Paul comes back, and he's got this crazy white hair, goes everywhere. Paul kept in touch. They fixed my issue for a quarter of what Olathe Ford wanted and the problem wasn't even what Olathe Ford said. They even fixed my passenger door handle which has been hard to open for years. Only charged $10.00. It's been almost a month and my Ford Ranger is running fine, and fast as ever. I have a 6 cylinder 5 speed manual. Oh......and when these guys save you LOADS of money........take em a case of beer when you pick up your vehicle. They work hard. read more

Let me describe, IN DETAIL, what an honest repair shop is; THIS PLACE! That's the end of the review - OLATHE TRANSMISSION! I took my Cadillac STX to Brent, "informing" him I needed a transmission. I'm handing the car down to my step son who just got his license, after the car had sat about 6 months. At the same time, I told him it needed front brakes and that I'd just lost my 4th power steering pump! The first thing they did was tell me they were pretty sure I didn't need a transmission! Now, if you want to gauge honesty and integrity, if you take your car to a TRANSMISSION SHOP, telling them you think that's what you need and they tell you no? Then, the power steering pump. They thought there had to be a reason for that many going out, so they researched it. What did they find? A service bulletin that had never been pulled. The root cause was a defective power steering fluid RESERVOIR causing pumps to fail. I could go on with other things they found, the lengths they went to in an effort to assure my car was repaired the way it should be, but you get the basic idea. This IS my new home for all things mechanical! It should be yours too! Thanks to the crew and all you've done. My car is back in service and it saved me about $3,000.00! read more

This was the best customer service I've ever received! I took my wife's car to Olathe Transmission for acceleration problems. They figured out that the transmission was slipping and that there was still a manufacturer's warranty on the transmission. They helped me get the car to a dealership to make a warranty claim, as well as helped me keep pressure on the dealer who was trying to talk his way out of it. We were having shifting trouble with our 05 Explorer, and given an estimate of 4800.00 for a brand new transmission at Anderson Automotive. Given some thought, we decided that getting another opinion might be best. We decided to take it to Olathe Transmission, and husband and I could not have been more pleased! I went to several transmission shops and was told that I needed a "new" transmission and that mine could not be "rebuilt." Those shops wanted a ridiculous amount of money... several thousand dollars! I took the car which is not even worth several thousand dollars to Jason and they were able to REBUILD it for a fraction of what they other shops wanted!! I think what it boils down to is that those other shops did not have the expertise to rebuild it and simply wanted to make a quick buck (lots of bucks)! If I ever need any transmission repairs in the future (God I hope I don't) I will be going to Olathe transmission and asking for Jason! read more
