I met the owner of Meraki Styles Salon last year (2019) after trying to find a salon when moving to Pittsburgh. Usually I stay with a salon because of the location but in this rare occasion I decided to follow the stylist when she opened up on her own. Location: the space is very nice. Minimalistic, with four chairs and a google assistant to set the mood - when she wants to cooperate. Cut: It is hard to judge a cut for everybody to judge, because it's personal style. But Bri's been cutting my hair now for a year now and I keep going back. But seriously. I had it cut every six weeks and I'm happy that my layers grows in very evenly. So even if you're jot a pro, like I am not it still continues to look good. When I come for balayage the process takes about 2 hours and I came out with really cute curls. See picture. Also ps: I keep asking her to curl it when I go but I really like it straight I hope she chuckles when I admit this on yelp Price: this is pretty fabulous. I pay as much for my haircut as my boyfriend. Bri is very fair and is able to cut and/or in an efficient way with pleasant conversation while giving you a homey feeling. According to my wife, Shelly (the own/op) is very proficient with the latest styles. She's young and hip, but cuts hair like a pro. Unlike some of the other stylists she's tried, who provide dated or cheesy attempts at the more trendy hairstyles, Shelly has talent and is very creative. She's an excellent listener and gives detailed explainations of why your proposed style will or won't work. Again, this is my wife's opinion of the place. I honestly thought she'd be commuting to her old stylist forever, so I have no doubt that Style Envy is a pretty unique salon. She hasn't used the tanning bed, yet.
