Stopped in for lunch. Bar area was full but the dining room had room and a really nice room. There is a nice patio area but not at this time of year. Service was really good and friendly. The hostess stopping a few times to assist our way. We split the Pear and goat Cheese salad. The goat cheese is a fritter. Very fresh greens and tasty homemade dressing. The Crab Cake sandwich was top notch and the sweet potato fries are sweet and different with brown sugar and cinnamon and a maple vanilla dipping sauce that was to sweet for me. We love sitting in the bar area. It's cozy and inviting. We have been here multiple times, including once for restaurant week and we were not disappointed. My husband had a steak with Chimichurri sauce and fries. I had a delicious homemade pasta with meat sauce. The wine list is wonderful and I can always find something I enjoy. Found this gem while traveling for work and it was the best dinner my husband and I have had in years! From the minute you walk in you are greeted with a smiling face and you can tell everyone there loves to work together! Its beautifully designed with brick walls and lovely decoration. Our server, Janet, is just the best, she gave amazing recommendations and made me a special drink! Yes, add alcohol to any mocktail and you won't be disappointed! Spinach dip is a must, the pretzels given with the dip are perfect! Wings are big, cooked to perfection and the sauce is awesome! The filet was cooked medium exactly like we requested and the show stopper was the crab cakes over the summer succotash, get it! For dessert the crème brûlée is my go to and it was great but the lemon mascarpone cake is out of this world! read more

What a fantastic place this is. The service was awesome! Every employee we met had a positive attitude which is rarely seen in the restaurant world today. Our waitress was super nice and super busy, but still took care of everything we needed. I had the scallops with crab sauce pasta special and my wife had the mushroom chicken with gnocchi. Both were perfect. Homemade salad dressings ruled (especially the ranch), and the carrot cake was one of the best we ever had. Drinks were great too. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. We had a very enjoyable evening at J Corks. It was a beautiful night to sit outside on their patio. The ambiance was great and the live music was a nice touch. The food was good. Three of us shared a bunch of things. We started with the mushroom bruschetta, which I think was the best dish of the night. Super flavorful. I also ordered a cup of their soup of the day, which was a white clam chowder, but they made sure to say it wasn't New England clam chowder. I thought it tasted like a cross between lobster bisque and NE clam chowder. It was good but maybe could have used a little more flavor. For entrees, we split the crabcakes and the shrimp and grits. The crabcakes were very well prepared. Lots of crab, limited filling. Excellent. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the shrimp and grits. They were a bit too sweet for me and I didn't think the grits had much flavor. The coconut shrimp were mushy on the inside and had no texture to them. Leads me to believe they were premade frozen shrimp. Luckily the meal ended strong with a piece of limoncello cake. Awesome. All in all, the shrimp and grits, while not my favorite, were not enough to diminish the rest of our experience. I won't hesitate to return, especially on a nice summer evening. read more

Went here one night with my brother and his fiancee. It is one of his favorite restaurants in the area and really wanted to take me here. You have to get reservations because the place tends to get busy. There's a convenient parking garage right around the corner. I got the lobster poutine and scallop risotto. The fries were crispy and delicious, and you get a decent portion of lobster as well. The cheese was great and creamy. Great appetizer but probably want to share it with two other people. You get a lot! When I make risotto, it comes out creamy and super flavorful. When I go out, I like to get risotto if places have it so I can compare how I cook. I have had very different kinds of risotto but J Corks makes it closest to how I like it! The scallops were pretty big and cooked really well. read more

The GPS sent us down the street from the restaurant and we were having a hard time finding the place. My friend made a call to the place and after he explained where we're at. Ginger walked out of the restaurant and told us to go up the hill. Sat in the bar area and Ginger was are waitress. She was super attentive and just a nice person. I recently had the pleasure of dining at J. Corks and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was very polite. Their attentive service truly enhanced the evening. Starting with a wild mushroom prosciutto it was so delicious. I could've had that as my meal to myself, insanely delicious. The culinary highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the lamb. It was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, showcasing the chef's remarkable talent. Each bite was a testament to the meticulous preparation and I love the creative nature of the ingredients. To complement the meal, I opted for the lavender lemonade. This refreshing beverage was a delightful surprise, balancing floral notes with just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect accompaniment to the savory lamb, adding an elegant touch to the dining experience. Overall, J. Corks was well worth the drive from plum and they exceeded all my expectations. I wanted to love this restaurant. The environment is beautiful and everything sounded so delicious. Maybe we were there on an off night (there was a show at the nearby theater and a night market in the streets nearby). But it didn't live up to the expectations, especially compared to the cost. First, pacing of the meal was way off. We ordered a bottle of wine, soups and salad and entrees. Our wine came, it was a decent wait and the server came over once asking if we wanted bread with our soup. We said yes, then moments later our soup and salad were delivered. Not even five minutes later our entrees were delivered. And mine was HOT. Like so hot it burned my tongue. This was after it sat for a few minutes while I finished my soup. I don't think I've ever had an entire come out that hot. We had to ask two additional times for the promised bread. I ordered the scallops. I do have to say the scallops were wonderful but the risotto they were served on was pretty flavorless. I'd probably give it another chance on a non show night in hopes of a better flow. read more

Showed up on a Tuesday for a date night and had Bri as our server. She was energetic, super friendly and just provided an overall excellent service experience. The food was great, I ordered the crab cakes and would definitely recommend them to everyone, and my partner ordered the salmon which was prepared perfectly. Also had the poached pear and goat cheese salad as an appetizer along with the pepper jack spinach dip as recommended by bri and they were both incredible. We came here to celebrate my grandmas birthday and we had a pretty decent time. The food was a bit overpriced for what it was. I got the scallop risotto and I have to say the risotto fell a bit short. I just expected it to be much creamier and it was almost gummy. Someone else got the steak however and it was delicious, but again, quite a small amount of food for $50.00. The ambiance was pretty cool, nice and cozy, but a few minutes after we sat down somehow the heat started blasting, like miserably hot. The staff had to open the windows to make it more uncomfortable. But they were quick to attend to it thankfully. Our server was attentive and quick until towards the end of our meal waiting on our check took a lot longer than expected, and even though a birthday was mentioned nothing was done(another table got a birthday desert and a big happy birthday) so that was a little disappointing, but what can ya do? All in all, not terrible, but probably won't be at the top of my list to return to. read more

Nice atmosphere and great service, but the food choices were heavy and lacking in dimension. We ordered the mushroom bruschetta, a caesar salad, a meatball sandwich with sweet potato fries, and two cocktails. The bruschetta seemed like a great idea but it was far too rich with no cutting agent. The salad was average. The drinks were good, but not great (considering the "really good cocktail" prices). My husband enjoyed his sandwich and fries. The sweet potato fries may have been the highlight of both our meals. Otherwise, the service was great and the location was lovely. However, I don't think I'd go back for more than a drink. read more

I just finished dining here and was very surprised to be deceived by the website's definition of "happy hour $5 cocktails and martinis" and that not be translated once seated at the bar. I told the hostess I was here for happy hour. I was wholly unaware of the happy hour being a separate entity than the menu I was haded at the bar. You would assume bartenders would be clever enough to realize patrons coming at the early evening hour wouldn't be there for anything less than happy hour.. I am incredibly disappointed in this establishment's deceptive business practices. Definitely will not be returning. read more

Almost saw me and my wife's 10-year anniversary ruined due to both incompetence and rudeness at another fine dining restaurant here in Greensburg called The Venue, where the table I had reserved more than 2 weeks in advance for this special occasion had been given away to other people. Adding insult to injury, we were then being treated as if we were the ones who had created a problem, so we left and decided to try J. Corks in an attempt to save our evening. Even though we obviously had no reservation at this restaurant, efforts were made immediately when I explained the situation to a staff member. And with success - we managed to get a table right away. What followed was an absolutely delicious meal in a great setting with phenomenal service. We enjoyed the fried calamari with the thai sauce, and while my wife had the salmon - excellent - and I had the Grilled Chicken Carbonara, which is the best version of this that I have ever had. We enjoy being seated in the bar area, and you always see someone you know coming through. Service is top-notch and the owner is always there to greet you during the evening. We stopped by simply because of an advertisement on a concert ticket. It was just a short walk from The Palace venue. On arrival, we were greeted and sat right away. Gingre was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! We couldn't take any leftovers with us so we decided to share an appetizer and a burger. The flavors in the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta was super tasty. Next we shared a Pub burger with truffle fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the truffle fries were absolutely delicious.
