Seating is also pretty comfortable, and they offer a wide range of espresso and coffee beverages, including a cold brew, that I must try at some point. This place also taps in to the health food segment, and offers muesli and superfood (açai) and smoothies, while also taking a swing at millennials with money- with their cold brews, and artisanal espresso beverages. They also offer conventional items like croissants, or the ever so popular "all day breakfasts" that every coffee joint in the area seems to have its own version of. Of the breakfasts on offer, I tried the highly recommended meat lovers breakfast which came with lots of bacon, sausages, a poached egg, and ham. Based on the fact that I felt that that was way too much deli meat for me to handle, it seems I don't love meat as much as a I think I do. It would probably be better to have an extra poached egg, but less meat, or more a little more rocket. I'd probably try the all day breakfast next time. I'm not so sure about their coffee, I admittedly did get the latte so I can't really assess the coffee effectively in terms of flavour, aroma and acidity, but I could probably try something next milky next time. They use special French flour and sourdough to make their pastries, and you can really tell because their pastries are so crispy and flaky. We bought a few different pastries and their famous sourdough egg tart. Honestly, everything tasted amazing. The egg tart is different because the crust is made from crunchy croissant dough. The inside is a super smooth egg custard with a burnt, sweet top. They even have a few unique snacks that you can only buy at this specific location. They cost a little more than regular neighborhood bakeries in Hong Kong, but the high quality makes it totally worth the price. The shop is right outside the MTR station at Citygate Outlets. It is a quick takeaway spot, so it is the perfect breakfast or snack before you get on the cable car.

We shared a Japanese custard pudding soft serve parfait and it was the perfect dessert. The soft serve is creamy and has a strong milk flavor. The pudding appears to be house made and was so decadent. If you've had one of those honey comb soft serves before, this is quite similar. 3. There tends to be a line but it moves fast. There's also no seating so most people will eat standing in front of the counter.

This is the convenient café located at the entrance of HKCEC where you meet up for a quick chat with a colleague, for a break from the exhibitions, for a business meeting, or simply, as a meeting point to head to whatever show is going on upstairs. Going to HKCEC always meant 'work' so anything related to it was 'work'. This café was part of the work theme and I always went there with that mindset. In summary, I never woke up on a Saturday and think 'let's meet up at Harbour Road Café for a catch up'. But that's the same reason why ended up liking it: it was a little away from the bustle of HKCEC, it was my break for a coffee, or my chance to sit down and chill out. It's laid out nicely in an ample area, opened to the rest of the floor plan. However, it's usually quiet inside and it's also a good place to work. It's comfy, there's wifi and you'll see others working there too. At times when there is a big exhibition going on may be little noisier though. It's fairly big; there is an additional space at the back that they open at times and this is even better if you need a bit of peace. Their coffee is good, and some of the snacks are okay, but that's not what you go there for. You go there for convenience, for a rest, for a retreat so that you can go back upstairs with your batteries fully charged!

Situated at the main entrance its a welcoming area being all well lit and has a more homey feeling than the rest of the place. Inside you will find that they serve coffee, tea and other drinks are also available. There are some snacks and sandwiches for you to choose from but given the place it is I think most people won't eat anything here. Its a good a place to work, wait for people and meet people briefly. Its not somewhere for a quiet chat because there is no privacy whatsoever and you always get some random people sitting about at the tables at the entrance and I'm not too comfortable going into too much details about a deal when some random straggler just seems to be burning his time by eavesdropping. It was also a haven for me on a recent occasion when I had a short window for lunch and I was cold and hungry; necessity negates choice and I chose to eat there.

The pastry was flaky and buttery, while the filling was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It's easy to see why people are willing to wait in line for them. I've only tried the egg tarts, but they were good enough to make me a fan of the entire chain. If you see a Bakehouse nearby, stop in and grab a few. You won't regret it.
