Located in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Phillipines and Saudi Arabia, this was a mouth watering donut experience that seems well over due to have here for the first time now in Hong Kong.
Is it a donut shop that sells coffee? or is it a coffee spot that sells donuts? Not certain, but I saught out J.Co in Wanchai hearing that their donuts were super special.
They are gourmet, boutique donuts, not your standard glazed fare (although they had those too). I asked the lady behind the counter to set me up with three different donuts of her choosing of those she deemed the most popular and/or company favorites. Without a blink of her eye, she said that although all of their donuts are great, she parked an "Avacado Di Caprio", "Al Capone" and a "Why Nut?" on my plate. $15 per donut or $88 for a half dozen.
Although I ate them over the period of the day and not in one sitting, I would say this about these delicious morsels served up at J.Co:
- Fresh! Fresh! Fresh! Melt in your mouth fresh dough to the donut. The dough though almost melts away in the face of the flavor of that particular donut.
-Unique, fun flavors that burst on your taste buds like a party in your mouth. Espcially the peanut butter "Why Nut?"...it literally melted in my mouth and was really sweatly delicious!
-The $15HKD price tag is worth the quality taste from their donut offerings.
-The store is clean, organized, modern and upbeat.
They sell lots of coffee options and also frozen yogurt too, but I stuck to my donut experience.
I am a firm believer of not wasting your calories on sugary treats that do not make the cut. It is worth every sit-up, mile run, kick boxing class to have consumed these delectable treats. read more
