Hello new breakfast & lunch spot, welcome to Canton! Upon entering your establishment you will notice the walls are covered in artwork. Artwork that will boast a well deserved conversation while enjoying a meal. They have combined two of my favorite things together in one place. Food & art. Let me tell you about the food, it's just as perfect as the artwork. Vibrant, made to perfection, and tasted. The chef takes great care to assemble your selection with care. While I did take out my first visit. Look at the photos of how beautiful they played our meals. I am hoping they continue doing great because Canton could use a friendly early morning spot like J. Christopher. I certainly loved it and highly recommend you stop by and try it. Dine inside or on their outside patio.

A lot of businesses have been taking it on the chin lately with being short staffed. So, I get it. I try not to bash on restaurants too much if the service isn't super fast. I am fully aware that my waitress is not a cheetah. This last visit I had though....I have mixed feelings about. You're probably asking yourself, "How bad could anyone screw up breakfast?" Well....that's the thing. The breakfast itself ranges from pretty great to downright excellent here. Matter of fact, when I sampled my friend's skillet (which looked large enough to feed two whole adults), I remember immediately regretting my decision to order the traditional breakfast. Not because it was bad, by any means. But because the skillet was a solid 9 out of 10. I mean, those scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, potatoes and assorted veggies all blended together like a 17th century symphony (try saying THAT three times fast). Meanwhile, the traditional breakfast was so traditional that I forgot to take a photo of it. But don't worry....it was good. 7 out of 10, to be precise. What's holding me back from giving a better score, however, is the service. For the most part, it was fine. Except...I had to wait longer than anybody at our table to get my food. Why? Because when it first came out, it had the wrong side. I ordered potatoes and got grits instead. Ordinarily, this wouldn't matter to me much because I actually love grits. I was just in the mood for potatoes. No big deal, right? Except what do the server and kitchen staff do? Take the entire plate back, refire said plate which....took an additional 20 minutes to prepare, then finally bring everything back. I have SO many questions. 1.) Why couldn't they just swap out the sides? 2.) Do homefries really take THAT long to make? I can cook these at home in under 10 minutes. 3.) How does breakfast take so long to make? Even as one person, I can create an entire plate in under 15 minutes, excluding prep. 4.) How do you confuse grits with homefries? 5.) Why couldn't they just swap out the sides?! These guys are professionals. I'm sure they could cook circles around me. Yet, waiting for this refire took ages. Lemme tell ya....it felt awkward as hell watching my other friend across from me delay eating her own salad just so that I wouldn't end up eating after everyone else (which ended up happening regardless). When the plate came back, I noticed the bacon was undercooked (I requested crispy bacon), but I didn't feel like sending it back so...I ate it, because....BACON! The food was good. I'd certainly go back....after they hire more chefs and waitresses. Oh! That's another thing.. Apparently the servers get hounded by their bosses if they don't frequently check on their patrons. This one girl who looked intimidated as hell asked us if we needed anything else....almost like she was attempting to get us out of the restaurant in a hurry. Mind you, this place currently closes at 2pm and it was barely after noon at this point. My friends and I were so confused. It's like they started paying more attention to our table AFTER the delayed plate snafu. I hope they get their staffing built up over the next several months. Because this place definitely has potential. Get the serving staff to sync up just right with the kitchen and you got yourself a well oiled machine of a restaurant. I'm giving J. Christophers 3 traditional platters with homefries on the side out of 5.

It's gone downhill. Potatoes were under cooked. Raw veggies in skillet. Cold gravy. Service was great but the food is lacking. Used to be our go to spot.

J. Christophers has one of the best Belgian waffles. I'm a huge fan. The restaurant is very light and bright with colorful plates and decor, which makes it a nice brunch spot. I love everything they have to offer especially the hot chocolate with extra whip.

We were at a gala event for NYE and decided to stop back by here. I felt nostalgic for the cinnamon roll and ordered it along with a white chocolate mocha, and the sausage and eggs and grits. The son and wife got the strawberry waffles and a side of sausage and eggs. The food was pretty good and the service was great. My only issue is that the grits needed to be cooked a bit longer and they used to be creamy and the cinnamon roll used to be baked a bit softer.

Black bean soup and side salad

Came on Sunday after church. Surprisingly no wait. We enjoyed the food but I was disappointed in the fact what's considered "black bean soup" is nothing but a side of black beans similar to any Mexican restaurant. It tasted fine but it's not a soup. The soup and salad combo doesn't let you choose a particular salad, just side salad. You can add a protein option to your salad if you want for extra cost.

Half empty White Chocolate Mocha (forgot to snap a pic before going in on it, lol).

I missed the first service at church, and decided that it would be a great time to quiet my growling stomach before the second service starts, by heading to the nearest J. Christophers. I've always been a fan of J. Christophers, because of the fast, friendly service, and great breakfast options. It was my first time at this location, and they did not disappoint. The staff and manager gave a friendly greeting, and there was no wait for a table. My server Ava was great, and she was very attentive. The food and drinks were prepared and brought out in good time. Also, the manager, Alyssa, was very friendly, and checked in on me. I ordered a White Chocolate Mocha, along with the Turkey Sausage Platter, and both were fresh and tasty. The mocha was at the right temperature, as it didn't burn my mouth by drinking it, lol. Overall, this location is a great option if you're looking to get fresh breakfast, in a timely manner, coupled with top notch customer service.

Our strawberry waffle. They forgot the whipped cream...

The selection is huge, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the chocolate texture felt very different from the typical chocolates I usually get. The shop itself felt a little small, but overall I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. There were so many eye-catching options that I was honestly a little overwhelmed in a good way. Everything is made in Japan, and the staff patiently explained the different chocolate types, which I really appreciated. Some of the chocolates also have liquor in them, so definitely be aware of that if you're buying for someone else or trying to avoid alcohol. I honestly don't even remember exactly which one I got, but I do remember being impressed by the texture. It was smooth and different from the usual chocolates I buy, and I'd give the chocolate itself a 5 out of 5. Service was also a 5 out of 5 for me. They were friendly, patient, and made the experience easy. There is plenty of parking, and they also offer gift wrapping, which makes this an especially good place for gifts. The only downside is that the space felt a little too small in my opinion, but I'd still come back.
