Homeowners beware !! If an uninsured worker is injured on your property, you, the homeowner could be held liable. California law presumes that anyone performing work requiring a contractor's license without one is considered your employee. That means you're responsible for their injuries, even if you didn't know they were unlicensed. Before hiring any tree service: * Ask for proof of a valid contractor's license * Request a certificate of insurance * Verify their license status using the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) lookup tool https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx Verify insurance and be sure it's current and do n't be afraid to call insurance company to verify coverage. Under California Labor Code Section 2750.5, if a worker doesn't hold a valid license for the work they're doing, they're legally considered your employee. Without workers' compensation insurance, you bear the risk. Protect yourself and your home. read more

Ok so I called J&M on a Holiday weekend and they answered. One star....They had me take a picture of the tree to be removed and gave me a bid right then...Another Star....They were able to schedule the work to be done same day (I understand this may have been just great timing) but still in my book...another star. Here's were it gets amazing. 4 guys and very nice lady, medium size truck, mobile chipper job done in 40 Mins! What?! Takes me longer than that to mow my lawns! Absolutely amazing work! Mike and the guys don't mess around. These guys get the JOB DONE! And clean up? Not a branch or even a leaf was left....just a nice evenly mulched area where a 30ft tree used to be. I am a hands on guy who doesn't like to spend money on tasks I can do myself, but I'm calling J & M next season for all my tree shaping/trimming needs. If I could give more Stars I would! Temecula Valley....USE THESE GUYS. It will be worth every penny. Shawn in Murrieta. read more

The guys at J & M Tree Service were the most friendly, knowledgeable and professional people I have met in a long time. They truly understand the meaning of great customer service, which is very refreshing. They came out on a Saturday afternoon just to give an estimate for removing one tree and we ended up having them remove 5 trees total plus grind 2 stumps from previously cut trees, all that afternoon. The price was incredibly reasonable and very fair and they even took the time to advise us on the care of the other trees in our yard. I was amazed at how fast they worked and when they were finished, they cleaned everything up and it actually looked cleaner than when they arrived. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing any type of tree care or removal services and I will definitely be using J & M Tree Service again. Thank you guys very much. read more

Called these guys for a quote to remove a huge pepper tree that was threatening my foundation. They immediately got back to me, told me to shoot them some pics from my cell phone and they would give me a quote over the phone. Not only was the quote accurate but very convenient. Extremely responsive to all my communications and courteous! Within 24 hours of my initial contact...they had the tree out, roots gone, stump gone, and all debris removed. Great price and phenomenal work! While here he pointed out some other potential "problem" plants and began to tell me how to get them out of there...he stopped short and said "you know what, I will just remove them for you" then got to work...at NO EXTRA COST! Thanks so much for your great service, and the lead on where I can get some better, less invasive, trees at a much better price! read more

J & M Tree Service just completed a day rate job at my Sisters Home in De Luz. Mike and his crew worked into the dark of the evening. All the work was completed, many trees were cut down as requested by homeowner, and other trees were cut or trimmed as well. The whole area was cleaned up beautifully leaving the place looking great. Had another tree service come out three years ago they charged a higher rate, did far less cutting and trimming and the clean up was average quality. If you're looking for a Tree Service company look no further, J & M Tree Service is the best not only are their prices great so is their customer service and work. Thanks again read more

J&M came by to give me an estimate and ended up cutting down my huge eucalyptus that morning. They were efficient, courteous and extremely fast. They left the yard cleaner than before they arrived, were careful not to harm existing landscape and kept their sense of humor, though air temperatures were in the triple digit with high humidity. They provided helpful hints for healthy plants and resources for other yard services. I would not hesitate to recommend J&M and would definitely use them again. They were also the lowest in price of three others I interviewed. They made a dreaded task a lot of fun. Diane Monson read more

J and M brought a team of 11 workers to the house and completed the job within four hours. The team worked non-stop under the supervision of MIke Walsh and his son. In the time frame mentioned they removed a dead 30 ft Eucalyptus, two palm trees, and topped off and shaped another Eucalyptus. J and M used two large "chipper" machines to complete the job. As you can imagine, it is nice to get a big job done in an afternoon. Mike Walsh has been cutting trees for over 30 years servicing the Temecula Valley. Pricing was reasonable and Mike is a perfectionist -so you get the best of his experience in the price read more

Thanks for the quick work. You were at our neighbors yard removing a couple of trees. We asked you for a price to remove our backyard tree. You gave us a great price and were there the next day to remove it. Great service overall, very quick and clean. All the workers were friendly and you helped us get rid of an unwanted tree. My 2 year old son loved watching you guys do the work and was amazed by it all. Thank you for the ice cream bar the owner bought my son. I will recommend your co to anyone I know looking to get some tree work done. read more

this review is a bit over due, but hopefully better late than never... several months ago I called J&M to come trim a tree that after 12yrs had never been trimmed professionally. I was quite shocked at the end results and was very concerned at how bare and empty the tree looked once they were done. But I couldn't be happy now, the tree looks amazing and has grow, filled in exactly as they said it would. In the end I am extremely happy with the work done by J&M, and would welcome them back to trim trees again. read more

Thrilled with the service provided by J & M Tree Service! Recently we had a very tall palm tree removed. Mike was fast about coming out to provide the quote and did the work that same day. I could not believe how great the area looked when they were finished - all debri removed, the hole was filled in and the dirt smoothed. Anybody coming to my house wouldn't have known there was a palm, AKA, the "telephone pole" there earlier that day. I would highly recommend J & M Tree Service! read more

We had a HUGE pampas grass that needed to be removed. J&M quoted $400. However, the grass' root ball had to be dug out by hand in a confined space, and the plant was double the size they thought. They laughed, told me we got a great deal, and happily did the work for $400! Its so nice to find contractors with integrity. Plus, they were very respectful of our property and did excellent work in trying conditions. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Wow, I read the reviews before calling for an estimate. I haven't read such good reviews in a long time. When they came out for an estimate I laughingly asked them if they wrote their own reviews! Honestly, I agree with everything that Brian K. said in an earlier post - these guys are awesome! Pricing was great - work was great - landscaping suggestions great - will definitely use Mike and his crew again!!!! read more

I'm another very happy customer. These guys really know what they are doing, have great rates, are very professional, and clean everything up when done. I had them down 2 REALLY BIG queen palms and a bunch of smaller ones. I will call them again for sure!! P.S. I never write reviews, (and no, I don't work for them), but had to make an exception in this case. read more
