We were shocked they butchered my mature lemon tree with a chain saw, leaving chewed up stubs. I asked for shape & pruning since it was over grown Not kill it! They cut all the branches and leaves off! Told me to cover it with a shade cloth for 3 months. Maybe in 2 years it will have fruit if it dies we won't hire again. I used JP Tree Service to have a tree removed in our back yard. Not only did they leave a large pile of saw dust in our yard but they broke our fence in two places. I had to call and complain to have it replaced not once but twice, and even the second time our fence was not fixed properly. The reason for the low star review is not because of the workmanship. Jeremiah, his brother and another worker did a fast and very good job in the felling of a Pepper tree. My grievance is with Jeff the owner who didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge to even ask if I was satisfied with the work carried out, or even knew I was standing there as the guy who was paying for the work. Jeremiah and his crew showed up early to start the project. I contacted JP Tree Service to get an estimate for trimming 18 palm trees in my yard. Jeff came out promptly and gave me a very fair and reasonable quote. I got a couple of other bids, and although one was a little bit less, I felt more comfortable with the bid I received from Jeff Putt as he is a certified arborist. In addition, he did not try to upsell me. I have several younger palms that are not yet ready to be trimmed and he was honest about that. When I called to schedule an appointment for the service, Jeff was able to fit me in within 24 hours. The crew arrived on time and did a GREAT job. My palms were perfectly manicured and all trimmings were hauled away. I couldn't even tell that they had been there. I will be using this company again when I need my trees trimmed! read more

I have used J.P. Tree Service for a number of years for firewood. I called a week ago to purchase a 1/2 cord and left a message indicating that information. A week later and still no return call. A rather odd and unprofessional way to do business, but thank goodness for the firewood companies that know the value of good customer service. I will never understand how and why some businesses treat their customers so poorly!! Seems like a one way street to reduced or no business at all. I am very impressed & grateful for Jeff's integrity & honesty. On 10/31/18, he arrived to assess my little palm tree that was drastically leaning & on its way to toppling. I had already bought items to straighten/support tree including posts, rope, stakes, sledgehammer. However, Jeff said all this stuff was not necessary & advised me to get my money back from Home Depot! He then told me what needed to be done, including remove top-heavy leaves that were causing tree trunk to bend. I was ready to have Jeff do the job but he assured me I could do it for way less than his minimum service cost. Wow, talk about integrity. He also educated me on the types/names of other desert plants/trees in my backyard...what a bonus! Jeff could (and should) have charged me for the knowledge he shared...but he didn't. My husband scheduled an appointment to have some trees trimmed 2 1/2 weeks ahead of time. 12 hours before the scheduled appointment, they called and cancelled. Said they were behind and rescheduled for 3 days later. Pretty inconvenient for us, considering we moved everything around that weekend to have the day open, but whatever, we went with it. They gave us a 10am-12pm window (what landscaping company does that?) and guess what? No call, no show. My husband tried calling and no answer. 3 hours after the end of the window they call back and say "Looks like we won't make it over there". This is insanely unacceptable! We have now wasted two entire days on these assholes. They weren't the cheapest quote we got, but went with them because they appeared to be professional. Apparently not in the slightest. Save yourself some time and money and go with someone who will actually show up when they are supposed to. We are livid at this sad excuse of a company. read more

I Hired JP Tree service to remove 12 palm trees The price was fair and they removed and cleaned up fine, however don't ask for anything minor to do no matter how small. I paid extra for skinning the remaining palms and when I asked their Forman to clip three dead fronds while he was up next to them he said that he wanted a tip or I would get charged. I relayed this to Joe the owner and he said that they charge for everything I also wanted 3 small bushes removed that were in front of 2 of the Palms that needed the stumps ground which had been included in the price of the palm removal he also said he needed to charge, I told him that I could do it in 3 minutes he told me I want things for nothing, I removed those bushes in less than 5 minutes myself this I did because he needed to grind the stumps that were in back of those bushes. He now has not removed several stumps and I am having my gardener do it Be advised that if you use JP tree service you may be surprised if he charges you for something you are not aware of. read more
