My vehicle was towed here after I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. It was raining when my vehicle arrived, and I had some electronics on the car seat. The gentleman that towed the vehicle took the time to remove my electronics and keep them in the safe place since the windows were down and he did not have the keys to my vehicle.. when I arrived to remove my belongings from my vehicle. These thieving, disgusting scumbags stole my mother's vehicle while she was dying with pancreatic cancer and couldn't get around for the final days of her life! Do these vermin care? Nope, they illegally sold it without even contacting me or my mother. The vehicle was stolen and they would not let us check it out to see how bad it was damaged. We called immediately when we were notified that it was found and it was at this tow place, to which we were quoted over 2 THOUSAND dollars to have it released to us. The tow truck driver was really rude on the phone. He asked for my cc number and I asked if it would be ok if I had the office call me for the cc number. He was apparently insulted, he was snotty and threatened to not tow the vehicle and leave it in the middle of the freeway, which I know it was already towed, hence asking for payment. We just had J & M tow a Saracen Armored Personnel Carrier out of our backyard and loaded on to a Semi. All 3 Tow Truck Drivers were obviously very experienced, knowledgeable and very hard working. With another plus factor being that all 3 of the men were very polite, patient and just plain old nice to work with. It was a very challenging job to tow the Saracen out through all the angles of our long driveway. However, the men definitely had the experience and know how to get the job done! Horrible horrible company. if you want to get tipped off then use them. asked them to tow our car to platinum collision which was like mile away and when we got there they said they could leave it because of leaking oil and that platinum would be mad. then proceeded to take it to their location so they can charge more money, platinum said they have no issues with oil. they also said the there charges were higher as the driver spent 2 1/2 hours on our car which was a lie. i was there the whole time including going to their yard and was 45 minutes tops. no one would call us back then they charged us a storage fee because it stayed an extra day. mind you this company is one the police department has on their rotation . was told $200 initially ended up being $548. never again as they are thieves if i could leave zero stars i would read more

My son got his car impounded early Saturday morning and when I looked up the reviews we were a little concerned because he had all of his tools in his car and there's another review on here that said that these people stole a guys tools. That guys tools were thrown out of his car when he rolled it and he expected the tow truck driver to pick them up. He was told he could pick them up himself, but probably being a lazy, drunk, jerk and a super victim he decided not to and then had his wife make a bad review about it accusing them of theft. Not only were my sons tools not stolen, nothing was stolen and everyone we came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful. I'm guessing most of the bad reviews on here are because this is a police impound and people don't like to take responsibility for their actions so they need somebody to blame so of course it's the cops and the tow yards fault. Also, people complain more than they praise. DUI's suck, losing your car sucks but your behavior probably sucks that caused all of it to happen. Not only did they not steal his tools, but somebody called them to let them know my son's knife seemed to be really important to him and could they make sure he got it. We couldn't find it in the car and he and I were talking about it in front of the dispatcher (I wish I could remember her name, she was lovely) and her eyes got big and she open the drawer and pulled out his knife which she had put aside to make sure it didn't get lost. I guarantee that all of these reviews & complaints are just people not wanting to take responsibility for their own actions and behavior and who likely come at these people like assholes and they get treated like assholes back. DON'T USE J&M Towing! I expect there is a good reason they aren't AAA participating. They just ripped us off big time because they can. We didn't choose them and do NOT recommend them. They towed our stolen car at request of law enforcement and charged $384.00 to tow it only 8 miles. Their reason they charge $220.00 per hour from when they leave to get the tow until they get back plus time for completing paperwork. THEY DELIBERATELY MAKE IT DIFFICULT. ANYTHING TO ADD TO THE BILL. They charged us $63 a day until you can get there to get it. Top that off they close daily at 5 PM so you can't go after working. Add to that they will NOT take debit cards. A cardholder MUST be present in person. They will not allow someone to pay via phone. It's their rules. They are CLOSED ON WEEKENDS so they can charge an extra $100.00 to open after 5PM or weekends. Why because they can and don't care about anything but money. It's a legal way to rip off people. We paid for our vehicle YET when we got to it the keys we expected with the vehicle were missing. We asked to push it out of the lot so we could get another set. NO they don't allow it. And law enforcement told us they are required to bring the vehicle to the customer beyond the gate J&M Towing would not. So we had to pay more because to go get spare keys meant after 5PM on Friday. THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE IT SO THEY CAN KEEP THE VEHICLE LONGER. If the cost of the tow exceeds the value of the vehicle guess who wins? Does this sound like a company you would want to hire to help you????? NO ! MY RECOMMENDATION IS GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO AVOID THIS TERRIBLE TOW COMPANY. Got towed by this company. Yes I was illegally parked but my issue with them are the rates. $550 to get my vehicle back is absurd. I live in Orange County and the rates out here's don't even go that high. I've had friends who have been towed at luxury apartments and it's $350 to get their cars back. This towing company evidently has some sort of "arrangement" with the landlord of this parking lot off 15 FRW near Hidden Valley Pkwy or around that EXIT. Seems commuters unknowingly park there, carpool, and return to the lot to find their car has been towed!!!! After $200 or so, they can get their vehicle back. My friend planned on being a customer of the shopping center when he returned and the stores were actually open! I'm sorry I do not know the name of the shopping center (I do recall him saying there was a hardware store he was supposed to run an errand in when he returned), but word-to-the-wise, if any of you plan on carpooling and leave your vehicle unattended in someone's shopping center without being a customer there, in thsi case, this landlord parks under a tree/covered area, spies on his lot, and sees who abandons their car, then calls this towing company just down the street a few, and they wait for you to get the bill!!!!! This place is by far the worst place in towing history. First let me say that the workers here are super fucking rude. I don't usually curse or throw slurs, but I just had to. Starting off, okay, so I had an accident last Saturday, March 17th. I was driving up the ramp when all of a sudden my tires popped, swerved a lot, and crashed into the walls of 15 N Barstow. I didn't know what went wrong but it happened. I had called the CHP or Police, whatever the heck you wanna call it, and I gave them the easiest directions possible. Told them I was on the 60 E merging on to the15 N Barstow and that's where I had my accident. Instead of coming, they sent me a tow trucker from J&M. 1.5 hours later, the tow truck guy comes. Now here's the good stuff. This guy comes out of the tow truck and waits inside his truck for about 40 mins, he didn't even bother to come out and ask us anything. After 40 minutes of waiting outside on the freeway, my friends and I finally walked up to the truck and asked if he is here to service us. He was on his phone, SERIOUSLY?!! ON YOUR FUCKING PHONE? After he was finished talking to whoever it was, he told us to wait 20 minutes. Later he tells us, "oh this is gonna be pretty expensive. you better have money saved up." WOW!?! MY FUCKING HOLY-BA-JEEBUS!? ARE YOU EVEN AWARE THAT WE JUST GOT INTO A FUCKING ACCIDENT AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN WORRIED IF WE'RE OKAY OR NOT. ESPECIALLY LOOKING FROM THE DAMAGES ON MY CAR, YOU HAVE THE NERVES TO SAY IT'S GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE? NO SHIT, IT IS. He then have tells us that the CHP gave him wrong directions because WE gave the CHP wrong directions. And for that, he'd have to charge us for that as well. I had asked him how did he find us then if we gave them wrong directions? He said that he spotted us on the opposite freeway and knew it was us. WTF? Brother, it is not my problem that the CHP was fucking retarded to give you directions that led you to somewhere else. I know exactly where I was at and he's telling me the CHP gave him the wrong location!?! Moving on, I had my car moved to their junkyard. He told us that it's 50$ a day for however long we leave it there. I was fine with that. While riding in the car to their junkyard, he told us he has to take us to the nearest location and drop us off their because he couldn't take us home. What a douche! Bitch gave us an attitude all day and talks to me like it was my fault for crashing. I'm sorry sir, I don't have time to plan for my tires to pop out of no where and randomly try to kill my friends and I. From how I see it, he acts like it's my fault. 2 days later, I had came back for my car and was ready to settle the payment. Since i had left it there for 2 days it should be around 150 plus the service charge. I go up there and ask for the bill. From the look of it, they're charging me for everything. A total of $600 bucks. Are you kidding me? If it were $50/day plus the services which was about 185/hr. from my calculations it should be around $400. FUCK THAT I'm not going to pay that bullshit. RIDICULOUS! They're trying to screw me over and I hope some of you guys are aware of these scamming fuckers. Well I've read a lot of reviews on here and seems like a lot of people are giving bad reviews mostly because of there vehicles getting impounded well I guess anyone would be pissed about that don't park where your not supposed to and that wouldn't be a problem. Well the experience I had was a good one I was stuck in Castaic with a 9 car carrier fully loaded 80000 pounds and j&m showed up gave me the best price out of everyone I called. The security drew her a map and gave her a day pass and she parked where she was supposed to be parked... i'll be writing a review on them also...
