Like another reviewer, my refrigerator stopped working and the replacement part was sent to J&M Appliance. Their voicemail stated they would return from a family emergency on May 27. I am very sorry for whatever emergency they experienced, but since then the message has changed, and I have been unable to reach anyone. I have left numerous voicemail messages and sent emails with no response. At this point, I have been without a refrigerator for nearly a month and have no idea when my repair will be completed. The lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. I understand emergencies happen, but customers deserve updates and some form of response. They took money for the service call which was supposed to be credited to the final bill and now I can't reach them. Technician Jim was prompted and very pleasant. We had both ice makers quit plus water stopped coming out of dispenser. We wanted an estimate which ice maker would be the best to fix/replace and get the water dispenser to work. He found the issue and showed us the back of refrigerator was covered with ice. He ran the number on repairing/replacing bottom ice maker and fixing the water flow. The estimate was expensive. Then he recommended replacing refrigerator instead of repairing due issues surrounding the ice maker could come back in the near future. If we get a new refrigerator he, recommended we keep this refrigerator in the garage. Use it without the ice maker and it could last 10 plus years. Really appreciate his professionalism and honest. Technicians came out per the service order to replace a door and adjust the fridge doors. They came for 3 minutes and said "we dont want to be liable and we are not installers. We only repair. " also, I asked the techs if they have shoe covers or booties and they got an attitude and said "we are not allowed to wear them." Everyone from this company is rude with attitude. Had J & M out to check on my washer. The tech showed up pulled the face of the washer off and said you need new belts. They had to order them. I had the tech leave the face off the washer so he did not have to do it again. The following week another tech came out pulled the washer out and leaned it against the wall. I said what are you doing he said the belts are underneath the washer. I asked how did the other tech know it was the belts if he did not tip the washer. He said I don't know. He installed the belts put the washer into a spin and said your washer is working. I kept the old belts. I did a load of laundry right away. When it came to the spin cycle the washer would not pump the water out. I called straight away and informed them it was not working. They said its the pump and we will have to order. See you in a week. I called another appliance repair company and they informed me they could come out in a few days and had a pump and would bring it. The tech came out took the face of the washer off looked down at the pump and said you have something lodged in there and it is stopping the belt from moving. He cleared the piece of material from the pump and the water started draining. I showed the tech the old belts and asked if they were bad. He said no, not really. So I paid $280.00 for two belts i did not need and the machine did not work. I called and told J & M what had happened. The representative said she would look into it and call me back. That was a week ago....nothing. If you have an extra $280.00 to just throw out the window give J & M a call or call me I would love to have my money back. Choose wisely. read more

Our latest issue was our refrigerator. after an initial first visit they let us know that is was the compressor and that they would handle contacting the manufacture to get it replaced for free since it was less than 5 years old. While the service was fine their billing system is a total disaster. I spent almost a half hour with their service tech trying to run my credit card. The tech's iPad and card reader failed with all 4 card methods: tap, chip, swipe and mobile payments. We tried 2 different cards. Finally they sent me the bill via email and expected me to pay $10 for electronic payment. I cannot recomment any merchant that doesn't have their payment systems together in this day and age. A proper bluetooth card reader is about $9.99. I won't use again. read more

They set up an appointment and had a link sent to follow along for when my appointment was to give you a better estimate instead of the Old Fashioned between 9-5 time slot. I am always hesitant when I have a new appliance company come out to fix a problem with one of my appliances. Yesterday I had Ricardo come out from J & M Appliance. He come to my home to fix my washing machine. Ricardo was punctual and gave me his business card prior to entering may home. He asked me what the problem is. He asked several questions about the problem and spent time to figure out the exact problem. He was able to figure it out and I am happy to say he solved my problem. He also suggested that I hire a company to clean my dryer ducts from the roof and behind the machine. He was wonderful and I highly suggest using Ricardo from this company. I scheduled a service call for my refrigerator that wasn't working. Repair man showed up and said he couldn't do anything because the refrigerator had been unplugged. No one mentioned it needed to plugged in for a certain amount of time and repair man was unapologetic and said "just reschedule". Total waste of my time. read more

We just had a wonderful experience with technician Roxanne. Roxanne is a friendly, warm & helpful person. Roxanne is also very knowledgeable in her field. Especially with our 30 yr old washer. Roxanne was very patient with us as she explained all parts & repairs needed. Roxanne was open minded to accept suggestions from me. Roxanne was willing to research a part, I wanted changed even though it didn't need changing. Roxanne is a well rounded, open minded person who relates to her customers. My Whirpool refrigerator started leaking and because I had already learned my lesson with the infamous Samsung refrigerators, I purchased the 5 year warranty from Lowe's. J&M was the closest appliance repair available through Assurant. They called me once which was a few days before my chosen appointment time to tell me that they didn't actually have availability the date/time I chose on the website, but offered alternative dates/times. Most other communication from J&M was done through email, text messages, or automated phone calls. If I needed to talk to them, I had to call them myself. They had to come out a few times (and two Assurant claims) because the fridge kept leaking. Both technicians arrived between the times given to me for my appointment and were very quick and efficient about finding the issue and installing parts. It took a few tries but the fridge eventually stopped leaking and I haven't had an issue since. read more

I have a new GE French door fridge with an ice/water dispenser. The dispenser didn't work consistently. J&M had been out multiple times. Our technician, Henry, knew the wiring in the door was faulty from the beginning. Unfortunately, with GE we had to jump through their hoops due to the warranty. After 3 months of a handful of visits from Henry, a new door was ordered and replaced. J&M has been amazing through this process. The office staff is friendly and professional! Wish I could give 0 stars. Never had anyone speak to me the way their staff spoke to me in my life. I made an appointment with J&M to repair my washing machine. I provided my address and explained the issue, which they accommodated with an appointment about 5 days out. On the day of, my husband took a half day at work to meet with the service technician. One hour before the appointment, the technician called to inform me that they weren't coming and that they don't service my area. I double checked the website and it was well within the service area, however a very rude man told me "you live in the mountains and we don't go there". When I tried to plead with the man that it was very important and I would really appreciate being reconsidered concerning the address (6 mi up the highway from Yucaipa BTW). I had been without a washing machine for over a week. The man was so rude and was half talking to me and half talking to a woman in the background. The woman in the background yelled "tell that f*^## b*^%# to f*^% off". I was in shock. I told the man how unnecessary it was to speak that way to someone, then HE proceeded to cuss me out and hung up on me. I've never had such an interaction with a customer service individual in my life! I couldn't believe it was so easy for them to do, unprovoked. Monique is a the most unprofessional person I've ever heard. To speak that way is totally unnecessary. When you provide an address, it should immediately be checked and ok'd by the company as serviceable. I do not remember the name of the older gentleman, but shame on him too! read more

The guy who came out to fix the oven couldn't fix it. The temperature was all over the place. I would set it on 350° then go back and check it and it would be 390°. When the tech came out he showed me that he set the temperature on 350° and it rose to 340° and that was his idea of fixed. He left it that way. When I used it the temperature rose high like before. I don't think he did anything. I left the room for a minute and when I came back he was done. He didn't have time to do anything. I am dealing with this company on 2 other appliances and not having a positive outcome with them either. read more

We had our refrigerator repaired by them. The parts were covered under warrantee, so we only had to pay the labor cost and a couple of parts which I paid on the the spot. It lasted TWO weeks and we lost approximately $400.00 in frozen goods. The next technician from the same company came out and look at it and stated, the first technician didn't know what he was doing. It was repaired again and is working fine. The issue is I received an additional bill of $117.00 in the mail with no explanation. I called and was told the technician didn't bill it correctly. I told her, that's between you and the technician and refused to pay additional cost due to the frozen items we lost. She threatened me with collections and ruining my credit. I'm still receiving statements 6 months later which now include late fees. I refuse to pay that company any additional money and will not use their services again. read more
