I hired Boston Pro Builders and Ruy Barbosa to perform a renovation on our space after a fire. The…read moreprice was right and he was responsive, that is until he got my money, almost $40,000. He then slowly started to disappear and stop showing up to the job, his workers stopped showing up. He would tell me he was coming to finish the job and then no one would show up, over and over again. This went on for months, he finally just went totally missing forcing me to hire other workers, many of which were contractors he had hired but never paid. I learn also through this process that Ruy Barbosa has no construction license in the state of Massachusetts, don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself on the state registry. He just finds CS's on craiglist he can pay to pull permits for him. After I was forced to file suit to recoup my losses I now have an open judgement against Boston Pro Builders for $55k from the Middlesex County Superior Court. Ruy made no attempts to answer me or the court and when I presented him with the judgement he told me it "wasn't fair". Currently he is hiding from us again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. He is a con man and a thief. Don't take my word for it, I have texts, emails and voice messages of Ruy admitting he didn't do the work I paid him for but offering to return none of it. I'll continue to upload them here over the next few weeks. Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in hearing or seeing any of it. Or go look up the record at Middlesex County Superior Court, its all public record. I've attached a copy of the judgement here.

Our old, peeling home has been transformed to the jewel of the neighborhood! Dirley and his crew's expert painting and repair work were executed, with tireless diligence and courtesy. Every morning, they rolled out their tarps to make sure that the messiness of scraping, sanding, and painting was contained, and every evening they spotlessly cleaned-up before leaving. Unlike other painting and construction crews, they never played music that might disturb the neighbors. Instead, they were incredibly focused and quiet--working 10-hour days, with a calm, good cheer. When we had questions, every member on the team responded helpfully, with a "can-do" attitude. I've overseen many home-improvement projects and rank Dirley's team among the best of them all in sharing a sense of commitment and collaboration, as well as pride, in their work. Thanks, Dirley, for a flawless experience and a beautiful home!
