These guys were absolutely fantastic...I would give them 6 stars if I could. I contacted 4 different companies about the tree work I needed done. I had used one company years ago to do some work and started with them. They were extremely disappointing as I couldn't event get an estimate scheduled after many back and forth phone calls and e-mails! One company that has been highly rated on Yelp quoted a price that was more than 2X the price of what J&B did the work for (I couldn't believe the guy quoted what he did with a straight face which told me he probably didn't really want the job). Another guy was recommended by a friend who had used his services and said he was happy with his work and price. He did quote me a very good price; however I came to find he was not licensed and I was not comfortable hiring a company that was not both licensed and insured. Enter J&B. Cesar and his brother Julio are great. They were very responsive both via e-mail and by phone. I think the estimate appointment was set up the same day as when I first contacted them. They quoted me a price slightly higher than the guy my friend recommended, but they are licensed and insured and didn't hesitate to show me the paperwork to prove it. Julio and his crew came out yesterday (5/20 - yes a Sunday) and got right to it. I had two large and one small tree removed along with some additional trimming on two other large oaks. These guys were beyond stellar (and I'm not related or friends of theirs)! The whole job was done in a little over 2 hours including the grinding of the stumps on the same day (most companies I talked too said they would send their stump grinding crew a few days later). The took great care not to damage flower beds and really cleaned up nicely. They were so accommodating- in fact my next door neighbor asked if they could chip a small old tree that was down in his yard & Julio took care of it no problem for a very nominal fee! Because this was a Sunday and I wasn't working, I watched these guys almost the entire time they were here and they were not bothered at all by me looking over their shoulders....in fact, the entire crew was very friendly and I enjoyed talking to them. I was super satisfied with the tree work J&B Tree Services LLC performed at my place on November 19, 2025. A team of three showed up on time and made quick work of removing a large dead tree threatening my driveway. A little later they picked up the logs and all debris in the area and hauled it all away. They also felled three large dead trees out back that would have done significant damage to my property were they to fall in the wrong direction. Finally, they extracted a tree from a heavily planted area in the back yard, taking great care to minimize collateral damage. They approached all the jobs with intelligence and care and worked very hard while they were here. All interactions with them were pleasant and professional. Last but not least, I was very pleased with the estimate J&B provided for all this work. Having had a lot of free work done over the years, I recognize a solid and entirely reasonable estimate when I see one. I recommend J&B without reservation. read more

J&B Tree service is exceptional. I needed trees cut down other advice of some trees in the yard. First of all they answered the phone when I called, no answering machine. Julio (owner) arranged for a time to come by to give an estimate, and he came right on time. I was given a written estimate and was told that he would be there to make sure everything was done according to our verbal conversation and written estimate. Julio told me he would be call Friday afternoon to schedule a time and day for removal of 4 trees and other trimming. He called when he said he would. On the day of the removal, again, they came on time (actually early) and got right down to business. Safety was clearly evident. Whole job finished in a little more than 2 hours. Exceptional work and clean up was superb. I cannot recommend this company enough. I definitely will be using them again, and recommending them to anyone that needs tree work done. Julio was professional and personable during our initial contact, and throughout the entire project. His brother Jose, and crew, arrived early and were beyond amazing with their valiant efforts and exacting work. They are a very talented and proficient unit. The volume of 'heavy duty' equipment, that they employed, certainly dwarfed our tiny property. However, their massive machinery allowed for a polished and positive experience. It was a massive job, on a tight street, and I'm confident that none of our neighbors were disturbed, during the process. Their attention to detail cannot be overlooked either, they removed every twig on our property, and dauntlessly picked up debris at our adjoining neighbor's yards. The recent storms uprooted a 12-14" diameter tulip poplar, and it was leaning precariously on an adjacent tree in the neighbors yard, potentially threatening their house if it broke free. We had had a previous non-emergency experience with J&B taking down overgrown cherry and crepe myrtle trees, and gave them a call. They responded promptly, Christian gave us a quick in-person quote, which was the lowest of the 3 companies we had approached, and they scheduled us for first-thing Monday. The crew was courteous, professional, efficient, and had the tree down, sliced up and stacked (per our wish). Like spider monkeys, they climbed several other tulip poplars and removed a number of branches that hung low, blocking sunlight from our gardens (but connected to the trees too high up to be lopped off by us). My first experience searching for a tree removal service. I requested an online quote and within minutes was contacted by J&B Tree Services. Like the reviewers before me they were beyond professional when the came to the house to deliver the estimate. Once I received the quote I was given a date when they would arrive to remove the trees and brush. The crew arrived on time...and got to work! I forgot to mention I made a modification to the original work agreement via phone two days before the start of the job..and it was accepted without any issues. J&B was fast, efficient and cleaned up the area like doctors clean up an operating room. J&B Tree Services did an outstanding job at our home in Bethesda. The work involved cutting down a number of trees one of which was a large oak overhanging our house; they also pruned and shaped several other trees to our complete satisfaction. The J&B owners and their team are very professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. They came with all the right equipment to be efficient, completing our sizable job in under six hours. Professional, hard working, and a great price! We got 4 different estimates and they were the only ones that took the time to give us a written estimate and explained exactly what they would do. They communicated when they would come and were very careful with cleanup. They even put down boards so that their equipment doesn't make your yard a mud pit. They removed trees at our house and our neighbors house and we were both extremely pleased. Julio and his team are extremely nice, efficient and out of this world reasonably priced. Julio came out and provided an estimate and followed up with a clear estimate in digital format to my email address. I had the ability to schedule thru the web app he provided a link to. They sent reminders to my cell when about the service and showed up on the appointment day on time. They are no nonsense and cleared the 60 foot plus pine trees in less then an hour and a half. J & B Tree Services removed 7 35-year-old healthy shrubs (approx. 20 ft. high) from our backyard. Their quote was less than three other quotes. Efficient work included removal of the branches, stub grinding, leaving a plant untouched between the shrubs as we requested, and cleaning up extraneous debris in 90-minutes. The backyard was immaculate after their shrub removal. All interactions were courteous and professional. I had two Maple trees taken down on 10/25/2018. I got 3 estimates, one was high, the other 2 the same. I chose J&B because of the reviews they have. J&b was the only one that gave a written estimate, I liked that. They arrived on time the day of the job, the trees came down quick, they took care of the lawn (putting down sheets of plywood to run equipment on) and did a good clean up. After several price quotes over the years I finally decided to have two trees removed from my yard. Each tree was approximately 50 feet tall with one spread over a fence and the other close to the house in the back yard. I know there are many Tree service companies out the but we always go with J&B (we've had many downed tress). They are set so you can almost make your appointment from their web site, which simplifies the process. When we needed them in an emergency, they came the same day, and kept their fee very resonable, what a relief. After the job is done, the cleanup thorough. To top it off the crew was very friendly. Had them to grind up several large stumps in the backyard. Price is reasonable. James showed up as scheduled and did a good job. There were 2 spots he missed. After I give him a call, he came back to take care of them few days later. Note that the grass will be damaged because the grinder is very heavy (like a mini tank). But with the price, I don't expect they spend any effort to lay down lawn protection mat. read more

It was amazing watching those group of guys trim some big branches off our tree that were rubbing off against our siding.
