Had a good dining experience at this restaurant! The chicken tenders were not only juicy but also seasoned to perfection, and the portion size was generous - but they were very oily tonight. The French fries were delicious, and the Mac and cheese needed to page baked a little more and the alcoholic drinks were impressively well-made, This place is still definitely worth a visit for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. Service was amazing despite the food & the restaurant is always a good atmosphere. We read more

Let me start by saying it's worth the wait! I've heard soo much hype about this place and never had the time or opportunity to visit until now and it's worth the wait!! Can I say Cheesecake Factory times 10!! Listen... them menu is not huge, however the food is prepared fresh and very flavorful. This food explains the wait for an hour! Food is amazing: smoked fish dip 10/10 Grilled chicken salad (added bacon and grill shrimp) 10/10 Chicken tender salad (added bacon and grill shrimp) 10/10 Food amazing and drinks!! read more

Food was good, the servers were great. And as always, drinks were on point. I highly recommend Recommended.

Best French dip in town. Pink fresh cooked every day ambiance nice great place love it

The food, service and environment were all fantastic. We tried the devils egg as an appetizer and it had a crunch and were very large. I ordered a round of them as part of my meal and a chicken pasta soup. The soup was creamy and had rigatoni style pasta. Someone else tried the crab cakes and enjoyed them as well. The burger was also good and both those meals came with skinny fries, which just went great with the meal. We ended sharing the 4 desserts they had and of course everyone had a different favorite. The key lime pie was not to tart and had a great graham crust. Chocolate cake was very chocolate and came with ice cream. The tres leches wasn't bad but the carrot cake was the surprise. It was a favorite because it was a warm dessert that came with a cream cheese icing and wasn't overly carrot. Definitely a nice dining experience experience with great food. read more

Great restaurant and staff members. I've been there now twice. My only complaint would be which I knocked two stars off is when the plates come to the table they are just room temp or slightly warm. Food taste excellent and they have a good variety but the food never comes hot to the table. read more

I love coming to J. Alexander's. It's been a staple in the Sunrise, FL area for many years. They are a contemporary American restaurant, known for their wood-fired cuisine. The menu has something for everyone. Everything from American classics including prime rib of beef, steaks, fresh seafood, sandwiches and entrée salads to light dishes and amazing desserts. They also have a beautiful full-service bar that includes an impressive selection of wines both by the glass and bottle. The ambience is romantic, energetic, happy and relaxing depending on your mood. I tried the Deviled Eggs for an appetizer and French dip with smashed potatoes for my entree. One of the better French dip sandwich's I've had. My cocktail of choice was the Reimagined Old Fashioned which was very good. Let's talk about their carrot cake. They have THE BEST carrot cake I've ever had. This is a must try! I order the carrot cake every time I visit. Delicious! I keep coming back for a reason. This place has great food, a warm atmosphere and is a great place for any occasion. read more

We were five for an early dinner. Three people, including two grandchildren and a grandmother, couldn't finish their entrée because there was something disagreeable in their food, though it wasn't very obvious. The grandson, a burger lover, thought his tasted funny. The granddaughter had steak, slaw, and a Diet Coke; the grandmother had ribs, slaw, and a Diet Coke. As we were leaving, the grandmother felt nauseous, her eyes hurt, she thought it might be T.I.A., but it passed after we reached our car. A minute later, my granddaughter, in a panic, yelled that she was feeling terrible and wanted to vomit, but a minute later, the pain subsided enough that she just wanted to be driven home. I thought of calling the manager, but I never got around to it. read more

Finally, I got around to trying this place. My husband and I had planned to come here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was super busy even on a Tuesday night, but we had a reservation and were seated after 5 minutes. The inside is surprisingly bigger than it looks outside! Inside is also beautiful. It reminded me of a lodge, lol. It already looked like a great spot for a dinner date. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our orders. I ordered the Steak & Fries, and my husband ordered the filet mignon. My steak was so tender and juicy. It was also a generous size, which I wasn't expecting. The fries were so tasty, I honestly could've eaten them all if I wanted but there were just so many. We also placed a dessert order of their key lime pie. When our waitress came back, she had a candle lit on it as a nice gesture for it being our anniversary. She also took that off the overall bill, which was extremely generous of her, and we really appreciated that. The pie was incredible. I'm not a huge fan of pies but it was so smooooth and light. I appreciated that although it was tart, it wasn't overly tart as some key lime pies can be. I was actually able to enjoy it. We had an excellent time here and have already made another visit for takeout which was just as amazing! read more

The J Alexanders on Broward is conveniently located for the central Broward area. We had the Steak and Fries, and Mr. Jacks Chicken platter as well as Mac n cheese. Filing and satisfactory portions. One of the more unique things I enjoyed at J Alendanders is that they also allow you in to bring your own wine bottle - not limiting yourself to the selections that they provide. Contributing to the best experience of the night was Raven - who was so filled with positive energy and gave us explanations and suggestions for our table. We appreciated her greatly. read more

Never not a GREAT meal at J's. I've grown up in Plantation, and J's has been a regular in my family's rotation of great neighborhood restaurants, with consistently great food, forever. Tonight, our party of three ordered the Cypress Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad and Old Fashioned Cheeseburger. I love the chicken they use in the Grilled Chicken Salad. It's always cooked perfectly. You can't go wrong with anything you choose from their menu. Some of our favorites are their Veggie Burger (which comes with the most delicious shoestring fries), Grilled Salmon, Ahi Tuna Filet. The Fire-Grilled Artichokes are an awesome appetizer. Save room for dessert, as their Carrot Cake is not to be missed! Once you go, you'll know why J Alexanders has stood the test of time. You can always count on a delicious meal with great service. read more

Yelp just asked me if I recommended here. Of course I do! Everybody does! They are known for their service and food. Everything is always delicious and brought out made to order. If there are any problems, you are able to promptly send it back for a quick fix. I am very appreciative that we were able to get in without a reservation and without exactly being dressed appropriately. But no matter how you look, the staff always treats you as a valued customer. This is always a great place for an occasion or a date night or just to make yourself feel special. read more

The food was fair. The steak didn't have much flavor. Had to dip it in the sauce provided to give it flavor. Broccoli was seasoned with something that was not all that enjoyable, strong vinegar taste. Believe the food was over priced for the quality it was. The service was very good our server kept the table clean and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. This is the first time we had visited your restaurant and we were expecting a more personalized and cozy atmosphere for the price we paid. We were celebrating a special event but we felt like we were eating at an outback or Texas Roadhouse restaurant. Probably won't return. read more

Nice restaurant for a nice dinner. We always have the spinach queso as an appetizer. I really enjoy their specialty martinis. The mac n cheese is always my favorite bite. The NY strip is a generous portion. I do prefer the filet over any of the steaks. Try the broccoli side, this is also delicious. read more

A party of five pre- Mother's Day dinner. Seating was perfect my mother is 80+ years younger. She wanted a bone in steak unfortunately that wasn't possible. She opted for the PARADISE COAST KALE SALAD. I ordered a rear NY strip with Mashed Potatoes it was sliced and well rested. My sister enjoyed her Thai Kai Salad. Yum! I really enjoyed my dinner here. I had heard great things about this place so J was excited to try it. I walked in and thought this place makes me feel like I am in Denver. It smelled woodsy and it just seemed like it was not in Florida. I love that. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I made a reservation and I am glad I did because it gets very crowded. In fact, when we left, people were clamoring for our parking spot. Our server was great but I do not remember her name. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay to start. It was chilled to the perfect temperature. We each ordered a ribeye mix burger. This was very good but could have been hotter. Two of us got fries as the side. The fries are not too flavorful but the portion is nice. The baked potato looked really good and was probably the better choice. I saw a few steaks go by me and they looked delicious. I want to come back and try that. read more

I really enjoyed my meal here. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay to start. It was ok. Not my favorite. We each ordered a Burger. I ordered it with fries and would probably choose a different side next time. The fries were OK. They give a lot of them but they did not have too much flavor. You get your choice of many sides but I wanted a b9urger with fries. My burger was excellent. The bun was really fresh and I loved the flavor of the burger. It was different. It add some nice grilled onions on it. Our server was great but I never got her name. I also liked the atmosphere and the restaurant overall. It was very busy. Luckily we made a reservation. We still had to wait a few minutes but would have had to wait much longer had we not made that reservation.. Next time I will try a steak. I wasn't too hungry this time. The burger was not huge. I did really enjoy it. read more

Warm and inviting That was my first impression. Then came the food. Steak and fries - perfectly cooked medium rare with a nice char. Crispy fries nicely salted. Pork chop so big it could've choked my wife if she hadn't finished it off so quickly. Lovingly cooked medium well with a delicious apricot glaze. It came with smashed potatoes and broccoli. Cypress salad fresh crispy veggies with chicken. A winner. For drinks I had an Anejo Old Fashioned- a winner in my book. My wife had The Essential- also a winner she said. Large portions. And for desert - Pumpkin Pie a perfect end to a great dinner. But best of all our waitperson Danny made everything even better. read more

I'll be honest I didn't really enjoy our experience. We had reservations at 7:30 sat down by 7:40 and were out by 8:40. Service was too quick. I didn't feel like we got to enjoy our experience and it's not how I wanted to spend my birthday. Everything just seemed rushed. The reason for the 4 stars is because everything was made correctly. We sat inside and it was nice but everything just seemed too busy. Most people would think that it's a good thing but when you feel rushed and you're not able to enjoy your meal at any cost. We weren't offered any appetizers or a second drink. We were offered dessert but it only seemed like our waitress didn't have a lot of tables to wait on. J. Alexander's is a go to for my wife and I. It is a solid date spot. The lighting is dark and the seats are comfortable. It is a popular place and the service is usually good. This time though the food wasn't that fl great. My salad was fine. It has peanut sauce which was pretty good, but my wife's fish was over seasoned, yet the mac n' cheese was good. It would have been a 4star but it was surprisingly expensive. 91 dollars for three meals read more

I love this place. This isn't my first run-in with the JA group. It won't be my last. I love the bar seating the bartenders are great. They have about 25-30 chairs. We joined some very old friends from Miami for dinner at J Alexander's tonight. we are not celebrating anything special, but it's always special when we get to see these people who we've known for many years. My husband and my friend's husband both had the pork chop with broccoli and mashed potatoes, which was amazing! The pork chop was between four and 5 inches thick and came with this incredible sauce. Additionally the broccoli was served with a little bit of olive oil and some Parmesan cheese, and it was divine. my woman friend had the seared tuna steak with wild rice and spaghetti, squash, and there was plenty to take home as there was with both my husband and her husband. I asked our waitress, Raven, how thick the swordfish was because as a Newlander, I know that swordfish should be at least an inch thick to be somewhat tasty and not dry out. She assured me that it was quite thick, and showed me with her fingers, although she didn't say how many inches. When it arrived, the couscous was very nice. The broccoli again delicious, but the swordfish was about a quarter inch thick, and even with the sauce it was dried out. I was unhappy, and when my husband spoke to her about it, Raven basically pushed back and said "I told you how thick it was". Regardless, we were fortunate to meet one of the managers, Drew, Martin, and he took my dinner off the bill, apologized and asked me if there was anything else we would like him to do. There was not. His jester is what should've been done by a manager, which we truly appreciated. I do highly recommend this restaurant because it is consistently good however, if you are a swordfish lover, I would not order the swordfish, special dish. Stick with the dishes that they already have on the menu routinely. read more

well, I will say that the service was very warm and the atmosphere was actually kind of nice somewhat like don't get me wrong the server that we had. She was very nice. One ginormous flaw which i'll get into is the food. so I'm pretty open to any sort of cuisine when it comes to food so I don't discriminate, but one of the biggest issues was that the burger and the fries I had extremely lacked in seasoning. My burger was done, medium rare and honestly, I don't think I would be able to tell the difference between that or well done considering of how just underwhelming the burger was in general. And that's just the burger that's including the fries which needed a **** ton of pepper just to make up for the fact that they lacked seasoning as well... while the service is nice it unfortunately falls very short and does not make up for the fact that the food is God awful. This is food that I wouldn't even feed my own dogs with and I don't know if the chef was having a bad day but clearly we were the ones suffering from it. The process is also was a very questionable standpoint as well because we saw that in general it was supposed to be two signs but our bill for three people came out to $85??? I mean don't get me wrong that was including tip but wow Jesus Christ the food was awful and we had to pay a fortune for it as well? Like don't get me wrong like I'm not cheap. I will pay for quality, but this was not the quality I was expecting. read more
