My go to drink will always be the lemon drop and for the price of one, you get two pours! You don't get that anywhere else(trust me) One of the best Caesar salads-not up for debate! You can also order a half and it will still be a HUGE portion which is why I love this place. The chicken tenders might seem like a childish meal until you taste them! Seasoned and fried to perfection, please just order them. Don't forget to order honey mustard and bbq sauce, literally the best honey mustard I've tasted in my entire life! This time I opted for the season vegetable which was green beans and OMG, these were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well! My mashed potatoes came out hot and not stiff because you know that's a thing at some places. Overall, my experience here was great and it always is! My favorite place to come no matter the state but it just so happens that this is my new favorite location because of how consistently good it is! I've never had any complaints. The other issue is how long we waited for a manager to come to the table after this happened. The manger apologized asked if we wanted any food. We went last night for our wedding anniversary. The salads are always good. We got the deviled eggs and my wife loved them. They were ok. We got the calamari. I wish they were crispier but ok. I got the ribs with a veggie skewer. The ribs had a good flavor. My wife enjoyed her steak and fries. My son got the chicken tenders and fries. He told me he likes the flavor of popeyes tenders better. They gave us a delicious piece of carrot cake to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. That was delicious and very nice of them. #37 of 52 (weeks of trying a new restaurant at least once a week) We were in town for a funeral and heard this place was good so we have it a try. Really nice and inviting inside. Our server was great! My honey got the prime rib sandwich with Mac and cheese and I got the trout with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We also decided to share a side salad. The salad came out first and it was so big I told the server it wasn't ours. There was no way that large salad was the side salad. Come to find out she came back with a salad and it was the side salad but it was super huge. We got ranch on it which was good and I really appreciated all the toppings on the salad. Our meals didn't take too long and everything looked really good so we dug in. My honey said his prime rib was really nice and moist and the Mac and cheese was phenomenal. I loved the trout because where I live we don't have fish like that so it was really a treat to get something so light and flaky. They are uniformly excellent and Louisville is no exception. service: Bar staff was very professional and accommodating. Food runners and other waitstaff were outstanding. bar: My Bulleit Rye Manhattan ($16 as of 03/2025) was the usual fantastic rendition. At the bartender's suggestion, my wife had a glass of Austin Hope Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon ($15) and thought it was great. food: My wife was thrilled to see Grilled Pork Tenderloin ($26) on the menu. This isn't available in every location and it's exceptional. She subbed their excellent orzo and wild rice for the usual smashed reds. I had the Steak Burger ($18) and it was great. Their fries are not to be missed. details: The place was packed on a Monday night. Reservations highly recommended, especially for the weekend. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich which had coleslaw on it. Both came with large portions of thin cut fries. His steak sandwich was Very good and could taste the quality of the meat. My spicy chicken sandwich had the coleslaw on bottom bun half and hard to hold plus bun was wet and soggy. Typically coleslaw served on top of protein. Fries were "ok" but not hot and a bit undercooked. Service was attentive ad excellent. While food was fair to good, I would give a 3.5 * but will give it a 3. We live close to J. Alexander's and visit a couple times per year. Everything we have ever ordered has been good. Our favorite items are the grilled chicken salad and the cheeseburger. His name is Tyse and he spent approximately 90% of the time we were there talking with the family in the booth across from us. As it turned out, he never actually "served" anything to us (except the check of course). Various other people served our food throughout the evening.
