Hubby and I stopped in for date night on the weekend, what a treat! Excellent food and service! Our server Judah was attentive and very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions with ease and made sure our drinks were always full. Ask for him if you stop in.

We went last night for our wedding anniversary. The salads are always good. We got the deviled eggs and my wife loved them. They were ok. We got the calamari. I wish they were crispier but ok. I got the ribs with a veggie skewer. The ribs had a good flavor. My wife enjoyed her steak and fries. My son got the chicken tenders and fries. He told me he likes the flavor of popeyes tenders better. They gave us a delicious piece of carrot cake to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. That was delicious and very nice of them. My wife loves this place.

I had another amazing lunch at J Alexander's. It's a great place to hang out with friends. Judy was our waiter. He was absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing and the environment was so peaceful and clean as usual. 10/10.

We had a wonderful dinner, the service is top notch and the Cindy's Lemon Drop is delicious! We enjoyed the Emerald Coast Shrimp app, Baby Back Ribs (fall right off the bone) and Prime Rib (best in The Ville).. Highly recommend this place.

Staff was friendly, atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. We had a party of 5 and Chandler handled us perfectly, recommending appetizers and delivering main courses very quickly. Desserts were epic and I suggest trying the carrot, it's a new twist with soooo much flavor.

Edit to previous review...they have added a 6% package fee to their take out orders, a big thumbs down. Also, it has been a bit since I was last here, but the salads have jumped in price to $20. Yes, they are big, but it seems high. The food quality remains great and food is delicious, but with the higher cost, sadly.it will be awhile before I go back, if I ever do...

#37 of 52 (weeks of trying a new restaurant at least once a week) We were in town for a funeral and heard this place was good so we have it a try. Really nice and inviting inside. Our server was great! My honey got the prime rib sandwich with Mac and cheese and I got the trout with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We also decided to share a side salad. The salad came out first and it was so big I told the server it wasn't ours. There was no way that large salad was the side salad. Come to find out she came back with a salad and it was the side salad but it was super huge. We got ranch on it which was good and I really appreciated all the toppings on the salad. Our meals didn't take too long and everything looked really good so we dug in. My honey said his prime rib was really nice and moist and the Mac and cheese was phenomenal. I loved the trout because where I live we don't have fish like that so it was really a treat to get something so light and flaky. Really glad we stopped and if we lived in the area we'd definitely we regulars.

This review is for dinner for two at the bar on a Monday in late March. We've eaten in eight different J. Alexanders. They are uniformly excellent and Louisville is no exception. service: Bar staff was very professional and accommodating. Food runners and other waitstaff were outstanding. bar: My Bulleit Rye Manhattan ($16 as of 03/2025) was the usual fantastic rendition. At the bartender's suggestion, my wife had a glass of Austin Hope Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon ($15) and thought it was great. food: My wife was thrilled to see Grilled Pork Tenderloin ($26) on the menu. This isn't available in every location and it's exceptional. She subbed their excellent orzo and wild rice for the usual smashed reds. I had the Steak Burger ($18) and it was great. Their fries are not to be missed. details: The place was packed on a Monday night. Reservations highly recommended, especially for the weekend. It's on the outskirts of a mall, so there's plenty of surface parking right outside. Although J Alexanders does not have a dress code, the place is upscale and nice.

It's a nice hotel, and a pleasant steakhouse, but not sure it demands quite that much love. Most importantly, they don't know how to cook a steak. The flavor is spot on, you can really taste the wood fire, and the steaks are seasoned well. But the wife ordered a filet medium and it came out blood rare. My medium rare strip was presented rare, which I'm ok with, though it was noticeably still a bit more cooked than her "medium" filet. Having to return a steak to get it cooked properly, at an apparently well respected upscale steakhouse, is a disappointment, a big bump in the middle of a pleasant evening. We started with the oysters rock, which were quite good, and quite large. The french onion soup was a nice classic version. We split an heirloom tomato salad, and each still got two very large and thick slices of tomato, making the split a good sized salad for each of us. The balsamic pearls were a treat. An unexpected pleasure were the parker house rolls. Yum. Though between enjoying them, with the split salad, splitting the oysters, and the soup, we'd clearly over ordered! Repeal is a pleasant fine dining spot in the midst of the Louisville downtown action. They just need to learn how to cook steaks to temp before they rise to a truly 5 star destination.

I also loved that they had a piano player which enhanced my birthday experience. For starters, I got a Espresso Mocktini which was so DELICIOUS! It was so silky smooth! For steaks, the Cowboy Steak was great, and the Australian Wagyu Ribeye Filet was cooked rare-plus vs medium rare. However, my Petite Filet Mignon, requested rare-plus, did not come out prepared correctly, leading me to eat more of the Wagyu. The Truffle Parmesan Fries were amazing, but the Classic Creamed Spinach was far too salty. The Oreo ice cream was the perfect end to the night. I was able to score a visit recently on Derby Week, and that will be one of the highlights of Derby Week this year for me. We arrived shortly before our reservation time after hearing that our table was ready. I was seated at the bar, to be joined by my good friend a few minutes later. The cocktail menu sounded intriguing, and I started with an Oopsie Daisy and she sprung for Fighting Words. As we sipped our drinks, we perused the menu and decided on an array of mezze as our meal that night. Crispy cauliflower arrived first, followed shortly by tuna tartare, then whipped labneh and spring pea hummus. They even provided a gluten free pita option for the gluten sensitive in our party. Out of our choices, the cauliflower and the spring pea hummus were my favorites, although everything was very good. Throughout our meal, the staff was attentive and kept our waters full, cleared plates as appropriate, and made sure we didn't need anything else during our visit. From the second we walked in, it felt warm and welcoming, like being invited into someone's home for dinner. The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and we were lucky enough to grab a cozy window seat. It had that perfect hum of conversation where you feel the energy of the room but can still talk easily. Our waitstaff were incredible, thoughtful and genuinely kind in a way that made the whole night feel relaxed and personal. We started with an olive oil washed martini that was crisp, silky, and honestly just really good. A simple drink done beautifully. Then we decided to go all in and order the Shefa, Chef Noam's guided family style feast. You choose a main and then the kitchen takes you from there. Plates started arriving in waves and the table slowly filled with color and texture. The first taste included chamutzim pickles, fresh herbs and vegetables, matbucha, and labneh with za'atar. We added the tuna tartare, which was bright and fresh and such a nice contrast to the richness of the spreads. Everything invited you to tear into the warm pita and pass plates back and forth. The salatim followed with shawarma spiced chicken and crispy cauliflower, full of flavor but not heavy. It was the kind of food that makes you slow down because you don't want to miss anything. We shared a bottle of Chateau Musar Musar Jeune from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, and it paired so beautifully with the warmth and spice of the meal. The star of the night was the lamb merguez with cucumber yogurt, dill, and pistachios, served alongside jeweled rice with pepitas and cranberry chutney. It was deeply spiced, comforting, and somehow both bold and cozy at the same time. It honestly felt like being wrapped in a hug. You could taste the care behind it. Dessert sealed it. Warm chocolate babka and coconut malabi with seasonal preserves. Sweet but balanced and the perfect way to end the evening. More than anything, what stood out was how personal the whole experience felt. Nothing about it felt trendy or forced. It felt rooted, intentional, and full of heart. You can sense there's a story and a family behind this food. If you're in Louisville, MeeshMeesh is truly special. Perfect for a celebration, a date night, or just a night where you want to sit at a table, share plates, and feel taken care of.

For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. We can't wait to come back again.
