Food-"I only waited 5 minutes" for my meal! "It was already prepared"! And it showed. The owner suggested the pork bellies as apposed to the plain pork, because he said they have more flavor. The meat had very little flavor!, and the meat was tuff. It was stale. The sauce over powered the flavor of the meat. Lots and lots of sauce!! I'm sorry to be so blunt but, the kimchi was bad. There were 4 or 5 kinds. I've had good Korean food in California. -Not trying to be a snob-, but jeeez. You expect kimchi to be spicy...some flavor, at the very least. You call what I ate Bulgogi! I didn't know they made it with pork. So I tried it; mistake. I could have had a feast a Taco Bell for that price lol. Didn't give one star because the guy was really nice. I had to give this review "to be honest". You guys are a business. Each customer should be just important as the next. I may have gotten a bad meal. Maybe not all are like that. But I'm saying, you can't expect to serve "ready made meals" that have allegedly been sitting for hours in the pot. Then expect your customers to pay full price. When I pay restaurant prices, I expect for a restaurant to cook up the meal, not to be a fast food experience. I paid almost $25 for that meal and it was no more than a fast food entrée. And it was stale.

That is when we knew we needed to eat here someday. So we decide to visit another time and today was the day! We came around 5pm Friday night and got seated immediately. Our server (perhaps the owner?) was perfectly attentive. They came for our order quickly and food came quickly too. I got the Japchae and my friend got the beef bulgogi. Both INCREDIBLE! Highly highly recommend!

The Galbi was perfectly charred and flavorful and fatty. Great purple rice too. The Kimbap is a little messy but hey it's homestyle ;) It was pretty hot and steamy inside and it's definitely an ultra casual hole-in-the-wall feel. The staff are super sweet.

The banchans were okay. The beef bulgogi was overly sweet and did not have the expected texture. The soup... first of all, the so called "noodles" were actually vermicelli. These are two completely different things. Secondly, as an avid instant noodle eater, i could obviously tell that the soup was made from the flavoring packet of shin ramyun, which you can buy at the grocery store for ~5$ max. Lastly, there was barely any content in the soup. Unbelievable that I had to pay 22$ for a bowl of instant noodle soup. I love shin ramyun but when eating at restaurants I expect that the food is authentic and not just made using mass manufactured flavor packets. Overall not that authentic and totally overpriced.

Time to wash the walls. My drink cup was also dirty. Service- Our server was nice and helpful. Food- The Katsu was flavorful and good but the chicken curry was a bit too crunchy and since they were smaller pieces, it kind just tasted like fried.. instead of fried meat, if that makes sense. I'd also say that it was a bit too salty, and if I had a clean cup of water maybe it wouldn't have been to much but since I couldn't drink my water cause it was dirty, it was a bit too much for me. Next time I'll try the ramen.

While they did have great tasting ban chan, the main dishes we ordered lacked....taste. I don't know how to better describe it, but they just missed some umami flavor. We ordered KalBi (which was sizzling) and yukgaejung (spicy beef soup which was also bubbling). See attached pics. The soup was described as spicy, but lacked flavor. The KalBi was cooked perfectly, with char on some pieces, but also lacked flavor. Sorry, wished I could have scored the meal more but it just lacked that flavor we were looking for. *** Update - the restaurant reached out and asked on how they could improve so the review gets bumped up from three stars to 4 stars. Thank you for asking. For the KalBi, maybe more shoyu, ginger and honey would help bring out more flavor. As for the yukgaejung maybe a little more sesame oil may do the trick? I appreciate the fact that the restaurant actually read my review and solicited feedback.
