With the use of a search engine, we found the restaurant. The parking is ample and you're greeted by the host. They offer you buffet or dining from the menu. Our server Mario, was excellent. He made recommendations, checked on our table, and brought the adjusted check. The ambiance has energy, neon lights, and open space. The classic hand rolls were okay, the seaweed salad is tasty, but the cocktail fell flat for me. I would come back.

Fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream cup

Arrived around 4:30 on a Friday. Wasn't too busy yet. Server Elsa was very friendly and attentive. Tried the Godzilla, Caterpillar and Crispy Crab rolls. All were good but we really enjoyed the shrimp chicken and steak hibachi with the noodles. All food seemed very fresh and tasty finished off with dessert of fried Oreos and vanilla ice cream. Dinner price is $30 per person which seems a little high but food quality was good. Better option might be to try it at lunch when it has a few or options, but probably still as good.

Izumi is a great addition to the metro - the all you can eat for $30 is a great price point for sushi and also offering hibachi makes it easy to please - this is my second time there both for birthday parties! I called to make this reservation and it was super easy! Having a party of 8 was a bit hectic for ordering as they have you order off of one paper which makes it easy for them but for passing a huge sushi boat around the table for everyone to get their rolls it's a bit rough! Food was delicious. They told us which rolls were which. We did have a minor shrimp allergy at the table and when told prior to ordering they appeared to understand but there was some shrimp rolls on the same boat as the rolls without shrimp. The ambiance was great and they even let us light our own cake for the birthday. Overall super happy!

Izumi has become our go to since Oh Sushi changed ownership and did away with their all you can eat option. You can order off the menu and don't have to do the all you can eat... Pricing for the ayce option may seem a little high to people who aren't used to an all you can eat option at a sushi restaurant. $30.95 for dinner and $20.95 lunch for adults... Kids are at reduced rates. If you are paying for a couple individual signature rolls, add up the cost, you'll see it's really pretty reasonable... We like that everything is included in the all you can eat option here. Appetizers, tempura, sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, hibachi, teriyaki, soups (udon and soba noodle), salads, and even desserts! Seating is mostly booths and low top tables. The decor has certainly changed 180 degrees if you knew this location by Cheddars or Wobbly Boots BBQ. Probably our favorite rolls are... Waikiki Crispy crab Ichiban Bison Fire and ice Hawaiian Godzilla And on the appetizer menu... If you like jalapeno poppers make sure you don't sleep on theirs. Tempura battered and huge! I want to say we've eaten at Izumi four times now and every times has gone well. Greeted right away when we walk in, staff is friendly, the menu and ordering process is easy to understand... If you haven't checked out Izumi yet... What are you waiting for? https://izumirestaurant-clive.2-menucities.com/

As a general rule, I stay away from ANY sushi place that offers "all you can eat." Izumi is the exception to that rule. $30 for the cleanest, freshest fish anywhere in Des Moines. Incredible value, taste, and service. The restaurant vibe is also unique, featuring a clubby modern "astronauts in space desert" theme. I highly recommend the Hawaiian Roll, rainbow roll, and any sashimi or nigiri.

Food was incredible and our server was extremely helpful! Would highly recommend the All You can Eat Sushi and the ambiance was top tier, very cool decorations!

This was a fun AYCE dining experience for our party of seven. A variety of rolls and appetizers to choose from. Dinner was $36. It was a busy Saturday night but service was great as far as refills and check-ins. This is the first sushi restaurant I've been to where forks are provided without requesting them. I guess they know their audience. My only complaints were no pork belly and no pictures.

It's nothing like a quiet dinner to settle your day by popping in and ordering delicious Hibachi Chicken & Salmon to cap off a busy week. The food presentation was a kaleidoscope of flavorful colors. The carrots, onions, mushrooms, salmon and chicken were all finely cut making each bite more digestible. The bowl shape fried rice was seasonably yummy with flakes of peas. However, the quiet space was interrupted by highly active little ones at the front desk that cascaded over into the dining area-- with mom trying to referee the loud over the top gleeful play-- well so much for my deliciously somber moment --and how was your day?

Menu, All you can eat

At $30.99 per person, and the quantity of food available, this was a great experience for me and my girls. Well worth the trip and value. If we priced everything individually, it would have been $175 plus.

My husband enjoyed his hot and sour soup as well as his sushi. I enjoyed my corn and egg drop soup as well as my beef bulgogi. We haven't gotten her further down the rabbit hole just yet. Lol Mandarin Grill & Sushi Bar is located in a small strip pretty much across 128th from the Walgreens there on University. Parking is mainly in a small lot in front of the restaurant with additional parking nearby. Seating is a combination of tables and chairs and booths. As always we were greeted right away when we walked in and seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken a minute or two later and we were given time to look over the menu. I've never had a bad experience here! The food and service is ALWAYS on point! We ordered the following: 1x Firecracker roll (Right) - Cream cheese, kani, jalapeno, cilantro on the inside. Tempura battered and fried. Spicy mayo, crunchies, unagi sauce and spicy tuna on the outside. 1x Unicorn roll (Left) - Tempura shrimp and avocado on the inside. Spicy tuna, soy paper, raspberry and a house sauce on the outside 1x Shrimp tempura roll (middle) The sushi rolls hit the table after a short wait. We both loved the Firecracker roll! The Unicorn roll was very good too. I don't think I've ever had a raspberry sauce on a sushi roll before... Nice! I was strangely impressed by the shrimp tempura roll... While this is a basic standard roll at most places the shrimp was more heavily breaded... The crunch factor on this one was fantastic! It's that contrasting texture thing I guess... If you're not into sushi the other menu items here are great too! The menu is extensive and covers a lot of items we normally associate with Chinese food along with Korean dishes as well. If you haven't been here it's worth the stop! If you just haven't been here in a minute... It's time to go back! Pro-tip. I have two soups I consider kryptonite to a cold. One is Brenda's Spicy Noodle soup at the Vietnam Cafe in Merle Hay Mall... The other is here! Their Hot & Sour soup with shrimp. Add rice, a side of kimchi and extra chiles. The egg rolls were the star of the meal: hot, fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. Easily my favorite item. I ordered the Brisket Pho, and while it looked great, it was just okay for me. Having eaten pho across California, Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas, I usually look for a clean, rich broth with a slight sweetness. This broth didn't quite deliver that flavor profile, and the brisket was a little tougher and chewier than I expected. My total came to $40.03. Was it the best pho I've had? No. Was it the worst? Not even close. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and the egg rolls alone are worth ordering. I'd come back to try other items on the menu. Cool Basil is a very large restaurant that seems always busy, and it has to do with it's it serves delicious Thai food. It has great parking, great food and excellent staff. It can be a busy place so depending on the time of day lunch or dinner you may have to wait but they move poeple through quickly. The restaurant is clean and modern the food is still great. It has similar menu items to his other restaurants. On this particular day I had Red Curry chicken. Liam has figured out consistently of his food products at all his restaurants. I've had Red Curry at all his restaurants and it's steady, regular and uniformly good. I always like to support a locally owned business. Liam has developed quite a system and serves a large number of people at all his restaurants. I had my niece and husband from out of town and they both enjoyed it. I think all of his restaurants have some healthier menu including fresh vegetable dishes. I believe they all have vegan dishes as well. Of course the restaurant has pot stickers, basil stir fry, pad thai, and other traditional Thai restaurant dishes. There is lots of variety on the menu. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Having said that, the service was fast and efficient .
