Great location, amazing food, and service was perfect! Inside of the restaurant has elevated Japanese deco and perfect for date nights or a family night out! Pricing is good for the serving size they give you and ingredients are fresh! I usually take pics but we were so excited to eat that I forgot. Steak dish was tender and flavorful, sushi was made to order, spicy edamame is a must try, orange chicken is an elevated version, and their miso soup warms the tummy and soul! Highly recommend!

Wasabi has a few locations around Iowa, and I can always rely on it to be fresh and delicious! We sat outside on our recent visit - a small but cozy patio with umbrellas and standard patio furniture. My friend and I both got the flavored mojito - a touch sweet but still good! For sushi, we got the Angry Dragon, Crouching Tiger, and Spider Roll - not the best sushi I've had, but definitely still hit the spot. We split a big bowl of edamame as well. A reliable sushi spot with a vast menu - even if you don't like sushi you can find something here!

Wasabi never disappoints! The cozy ambiance and friendly service makes every visit a delight! During my most recent visit, my server was amazing, offering spot on food recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Wasabi can get pretty busy during peak hours like my Monday evening visit! Despite being an a strip mall, there is ample parking! I wanted to try something new so I opted for the Curry Duck/Rice without pineapple! While it had a little kick, it lacked flavor- a dash of soy sauce helped but not much. Also, I could do without the chunky green peppers. Overall, the service remained top-notch as my server provided fresh rice to be taken home with my leftovers. The service alone is enough to return to explore more of Wasabi's menu!

The intriguing menu offered a variety of creative dishes. My fun choice was Miso Soup, Spring Rolls and Chicken Wonton Ramen. Hunter, the wait staff, offered a plethora of delicious starters as well as entrees before I settled on my final dishes. The comforting environment allowed you to enjoy each dish in a serene fashion.

Food was decent but really overpriced. $12 of salmon cost $24; several other items cost twice what they should. Spring rolls were soft, not crispy, but tasty. Ordered via their website for pickup. Address on the receipt was incorrect and cost me 30 mins of driving to a random apartment. I tried to call the number on the receipt but that also didn't work. Eventually found the place but won't be returning.

The food was good, a bit above average. Hated the service, I think it was closing time and I was ignored, asked twice for spicy mayo never got it. I'll be generous with a four star but honestly 3.5 star is where it's at. Restaurant is pretty, indoor outdoor seating, good vibes.

Stopped for dinner tonight and was impressed with the food quality and taste. We started with an order of edamame and a beer, then ordered several rolls to share. We ordered the Salmon & Avocado, Shrimp Tempura and King Crab Crunch rolls (see picture) and enjoyed all of them. My favorite was the King Crab Crunch - creamy, spicy and delicious. Visit 2 Update:. Had a similar great experience in our most recent stop. I ordered the Thai Mango Chicken (see picture) and thought it was delicious - a great combination of mango / sweet and spicy. I highly recommend this dish. Food: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 If you found this review helpful, please click on 'Useful'.

We arrived for lunch around 1:00 and was seated right away. Our server was very personable and friendly. He knew the menu well and helped my partner decide between two dishes. The restaurant itself was on the quiet side which was nice for a Saturday afternoon. My partner ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and she loved it. Definitely happy with the selection and she said it was just what she needed today. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked egg with a gooey center. I ordered 3 rolls which were all excellent. One special roll called the Marilyn Monroe and two house rolls. I'm a sucker for a sweet potato Roll and the mixed veggie was light and fresh. Everything was excellent. My one gripe is the price for dishes and house rolls. Specialty rolls I expect to pay more for but most of their house rolls are between 8-10 dollars. There were no lunch/roll specials which might be a difference between weekend vs weekday but spending 50 dollars on lunch is a bit much. Would definitely still recommend this restaurant with the stipulation that you'll want to be ready to spend more than usual.

We came here for some sushi and ramen. The food was spot on and we loved the sushi. The presentation and taste were spot on. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. It's a beautiful restaurant. Nice and bright and relaxing.

After a coworker said it was her favorite restaurant, we decided to try this place for lunch. They were offering a monthly special, if ordered part of the money was donated which was pretty cool. We ordered the spicy edamame and brussel sprouts for the table both were excellent! Ordered a bunch of different rolls and a ramen. Everything was delicious, we will definitely be back.

Wassup Wasabi?! Loved my first visit out here in Waukee. Great location! Been to the other locations and I expected exceptional food and service just like the others. And it was! Ordered the Cali roll, spider roll, and shrimp tempura. Great staple rolls that you can't go wrong with. My husband ordered the crispy orange chicken and substituted fried rice. Bottle Tsingtao and draft Karin beer. Everything tasted wonderful! Mr W loved the fried rice. He said it had a unique smokey flavor in it that he really enjoyed. Service was lovely. We dined outside. Very busy! Every table was full of patrons. Patio area is connected to the neighboring brewery so it made it look very large and busy. Tables were spaced out nicely for distancing. I felt the sushi menu at other locations were much larger. This location seemed to have less cooked rolls. Menu was nicely labeled for different food preferences. Vegan/plant based options were some. I liked seeing 2 plant based sushi options. Also saw Edamame. Veggie spring rolls. Overall visit was just right. Would come here again especially to dine outside. Highly recommend!

Tonight we stopped with friends who are neighbors with the owner after Mass. We started off by sharing a Wisconsin "Charcuterie" appetizer (see picture) - which was great to share with 4 people. Each of the items served in the pretzel were great - and we really enjoyed each of the dipping sauces. For our meals, my wife ordered the Chicago Beef (see picture) and I opted for the Mediterranean Bowl (see picture). As we always do, we shared our plates. While both were very good, I was especially impressed with the Mediterranean Bowl - it was so cool, light and tasty! Merll's is a relatively recent addition to the Waukee pub scene and worth a stop to sample some of their great food! The food has been great on each of our visits and tonight we had the extra treat - enjoying a shared Smores dessert (see picture)! Tonight, we decided to take advantage of the Happy Hour specials and enjoy a few shared appetizers at the table, so started with 6 Shrimp Cocktail (see picture) and Cheese Curds (see picture). Both of them were very good, so we decided to also try their Raw Oysters (see picture) - which were also very good. For our dinner, my wife ordered the Lobster Roll (see picture) and while we weren't quite sure what form it would take, we were both pleased what was brought to the table, as it tasted great! I decided to go with the Walleye Wednesday special (see picture) and found it to not only taste great - but was a very generous portion of walleye!

This place delivers serious Chicago bar vibes in the best way possible…read more Service? On point. Our glasses were never empty, and the staff checked in just enough to feel attentive without hovering. Now let's talk food, because it slaps. The onion rings are the real deal. Proper onion rings. Perfect batter-to-onion ratio, no sad, hollow rings here. The jalapeño poppers are equally legit, crispy breading, creamy filling, and just the right kick. And the wings? On a whole different level. Plump, meaty, and absolutely delicious. Sunday special: 20 wings for $22. That's not a deal, that's a public service. If you like great food, solid service, and classic Chicago bar energy, this spot delivers across the board.

Fortunately, they came through and put the game on several screens for us to watch during our visit. We started with an order of Onion Rings (see picture) - and they were the best onion rings I've had in many years. They were uniformly battered, uniformly fried to nice, crispy light brown color, and most importantly - a slightly crunchy onion inside that bit off cleanly so that you could dip it again! The picture itself does pretty good justice on their quality - and the dipping sauce was quite tasty also! For dinner, my wife ordered the Low Carb Beef Bowl w/ Pepperjack cheese & Rice (see picture) and I went with the Classic Wings split between Lemon Pepper Dry Rub and Mango Habanero sauce (see picture). We both really enjoyed the Low Carb Beef Bowl, finding it just as tasty as the name implies (all of the peppery zing of an Italian Beef with a melted cheese top - with rice replacing the bun). I was admittedly a bit disappointed with the wings, especially given the award-winning claims in the menu. My first impression and comment to my wife was that they were quite small in size. Secondly, while they tasted reasonably moist and tender, as the picture shows - they appeared to be dried out / overcooked...with meat pulling away from the bone. The Mango Habanero wings had very little spice given their name and very little sauce, with some barely wet and essentially none in the serving tray to use to add. While the wings would give me pause before ordering again, we REALLY liked the onion rings and everything else that we've ordered has been above average. The other thing I enjoy is their reasonable selection of craft beers (really liked the Chicago local Cold Time) as well as the unique cocktails. This is a solid stop.
