    DeWayne's - I missed the upstairs

I saw a sign on the highway for DeWayne's on my way to Benson, so I decided to make a stop when I…read moregot to Smithfield. It is located near the Outlet Mall but far enough away (half a mile) from the traffic from there. The shopping center is technically located in Selma, NC. The parking lot is large, but you might still have trouble finding a parking place as it is a busy store. DeWayne's is not an outlet store but a high-quality, family-owned store with name brands. You will find clothing, Pandora, Kendra Scott, Hey Dude, Vineyard Vines, Simply Southern, Tommy Bahama, Julie Vos, Birkenstock, and Yeti coolers, as well as shoes and accessories. I am sure I missed a lot. I wouldn't normally go two days in a row, but after I posted my photos, I saw other photos of the upstairs. So I had to see what I missed, and I decided to go looking for an item. Upstairs was the Attic, where items are discounted 50% and 70% on Wednesdays, I was informed by an employee. Christmas Land is the largest Christmas store in North Carolina, with eleven decorated rooms. The Garden Center with indoor and outdoor plants was another popular area. They had bird seed, different types of soil, and containers. The Sweet Shop had a variety of fudge and Hershey's ice cream. There were other specialty foods throughout the store and closer to the cash registers. Everyone here was friendly, and I was even recognized on my second visit. When I entered for the first time, the employee could tell I was a little overwhelmed and helped me learn the layout of the store. If the outlet mall isn't for you, make sure you stop at DeWayne's for a much better experience. On my first visit, I left with Suzy Zoo items, fudge and chocolates. While I didn't find what I was looking for on the second day, I found something in the Christmas Land that would work. The line to check out was much longer, so I kept finding more items while waiting to pay. It was a good thing I didn't get a cart. They do have a rewards club, which I should have joined, as I am looking forward to returning.

Hi. I did not feel at all like she wanted to welcome us. She did not enjoy anything about her job. I ordered two chocolate shakes and an orange aid. The lady asked me if I wanted pineapple or cherries or anything and when I looked at her and said no, I'd like the shakes plain please she snapped at me. I'm talking about the orange aid. I told her I'm not from here. I did not know that you guys added anything to it and I'm sorry. I just want a plain one. We went outside to the patio when our order was done, and I realized I did not have a straw for my orange aid. So my daughter went in to grab another straw and again the young redheaded lady told her I already gave you straws. My daughter said you gave us straws for the shake, but not for the orange drink. The redheaded lady orange told my daughter, You mean, orange aid. No, I wasn't born yesterday and I come here twice a year and I drop a lot of money at your store. I know that it seems like it'd be a desirable place for young people to work because you get a discount and it's a pretty cool place to work at I think that this girl might need some more training or maybe another girl who really wants to work at that store should take her place.

I asked one of the associates bigger African American lady with curly hair and glasses if we could try our items on and she told me that the fitting rooms were out of order. First of all, how are fitting rooms out of order?? Anyway, needless to say that I left all of the items laying right on the counter as I live 45 min from the outlet and have no interest in returning items. Horrible, and I won't be back. Mebane outlets are much more professional and organized!!!

THE PROBLEM: On 8-12-17 I ordered a shirt for my son to be shipped to my home because his size was not available. Unfortunately, the order could not be found online in my account settings nor was there documentation of the order being placed via OshKosh Customer Service. After going back and forth with customer service, they suggested I called the store which the shirt was bought from (I know right?). I asked customer service "why couldn't they handle something that customer service (should) normally handle in situations such as mine?" Well, a hush came over the phone, and the representative was speechless. To the representative's credit, she tried hard to find out what happened to the order before I ended the call in frustration. We were on the phone for 35 minutes looking for my order. I eventually called the store where the item was purchased from and prepared myself for the worse. THE SOLUTION: In continuing my experience with OshKosh further, I was prepared to get the answer I did from customer service earlier. However, this was not the case. I had the privilege of speaking collectively with both Assistant Manager's Nichole and Tia and the GM (General Manager) Scott. The professionalism and genuine concern for me and the mishap with the order was heard in their voices in the manner which they spoke to me. Nichole worked relentlessly to figure out was happening with the order on yesterday. However, Nichole wound up turning it over to Tia who this morning contacted me to alert me to what she found out so far about the shirt (or order). Scott (the GM) was contacted as well about my dilemma. I received a phone call from Scott, ensuring me that he was aware of the problem and that a solution was in the making's to keep me as a loyal customer (I've been with OshKosh for eight years). What we discovered is that the USPS at the time claimed to have delivered the package to me yesterday (10-19-17) a little after 5:00 pm. I asked the staff of the store to allow me some time to see what the world was going on, on my end. After discovering what happened to the package (please read below), I called the store back to thank Nichole, Tia and Scott for their help and the intentionality that went into wanting me to remain a customer of OshKosh. It is worth noting that Tia rallied for me while talking to customer service to have (not only) my money refunded for the shirt ($17.98) but to have the shirt reshipped to the store to give to me free of charge. Indeed, customer service doesn't get any better than this. I also commend them on their leadership tactics which are a compliment to the OshKosh organization and its brand label. I am happy that I have the shirt I ordered. I asked them to (go ahead and) recharge me for the shirt as I am a satisfied with the product. I genuinely look forward to shopping with them again! SO, WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE PACKAGE? Because of the size of the package to be delivered, it should have come straight to my apartment door. I have never had a package bigger than the size of a book (if that) jammed into my mailbox. Nevertheless, there the package was in my mailbox rolled up, and crammed into the mailbox with the rest of the mail. JAMMED PACKED! Mind you; I have an apartment mailbox okay? The package was 1 ft and 17in long, and 1ft and 3inches wide. I get it though. The mail carrier decided since the packaging is flexible plastic why walk up the stairs to deliver the package when I can simply JAM it in the mailbox with the rest of the stuff.

If you've never been to the outlet mall, let me tell you, the drive is worth the trip. And if you like Nautica you'll love the outlet store. Nearly everything was half off. In addition, they had a 15% off sale due to NC no longer having a tax-free weekend which wasn't even advertised. Yay! I bought jeans which fit me well. I'm a 38x32 and their boot cut jeans fit me perfectly. They are nice and baggy. If you want to look like Justin Bieber with some skinny jeans these are not the jeans for you. Of course, they also have a plethora of other casual and dress clothing as well. They also have a nice selection of women's clothing, and there is even a little something for the kids and toddlers. After you're done here walk the mall and find other great deals.

Who doesn't like getting a $70 sweater for $30? The people here are always helpful, kind, attentive, and most importantly to me - down to earth. There is no judgment for the people who walk in wearing a plain cheap t-shirt or whatnot, everyone is treated the same. Even though it's a bit of a drive, I always love a good trip to this outlet and usually end up finding a little something for myself on sale as well.
