Savvi Prom - Having fun on prom night 2023 in Savvi Prom dresses

Savvi Prom

Until someone tries to hurt or disrespect my kids. My youngest is a senior in HS and I popped into town this weekend to take her dress shopping for prom. We drove to Raleigh to this place called Savvi Prom. When we walked in, we were greeted at the door warmly. The shop was full of high schoolers and their supporters; moms ,aunties, sisters, best friends, you name it. My daughter, close friend and I perused the selections and I finally convinced Smooch to try on some dresses. She was shy at first, but began to warm to the idea. This is where it went left. As I sat outside of the dressing room waiting for more dresses, my dear friend helped my daughter to zip one of the selections. One of the sales associates came up to me and asked why we were trying on dresses. As a matter of fact here's is the conversation. "What is this for?" Me: smiles, "It's for her senior prom" "What? SHE'S in high school? She looks old!" Me: (obviously irritated, but I will give grace because maybe she misspoke) "Wow, are you sure those are the exact words that you want say to me right now?" smirks, "Yeah, that's what I wanna say because she looks old! She looks older than me!' Me: How old are you? "I am 20!" Me: starting to see red ,"Is that all?" Enters second sales associate. "Wow, she's saying the exact same thing that I was thinking" They both start to giggle... Me: "Neither one of you have considered that my HIGH SCHOOL CHILD is in the dressing room listening to you. It would do you both a world of good to stop speaking to me and discussing my child" Other moms and daughters have witnessed this exchange and began to check in with my daughter and I to ensure that she is okay. My daughter emerges from the dressing room to put the dresses away and I insist that she leaves them and allow the sales girls to do their job. As we are leaving, one of the girls asks, "Were you thinking of anything else" I responded, Yes, I am thinking of leaving. I spoke with the owner, Denise, who seemed apologetic, but never made the girls apologize. I hate to do it, but we were one of few brown people in the shop. This is not what I drove here for. This is not the experience that my daughter should have had. She was hurt. She was discouraged. I wanted to act really ugly, but God. My baby is beautiful. She deserves better. Just wanted to make sure that everyone is mindful of where you spend your dollars during this season.

The parking lot and overflow were full and when we walked in it was very overwhelming with us being used to being helped right away and having an assigned person to help. Laci (I believe ) helped us at the beginning as we looked lost and overwhelmed then Ally took over and we had her full and undivided attention. Thankfully. She was very knowledgeable in fitting my son with his correct size, gave her opinion on best color to match his dates dress etc she answered all the questions we had and we felt at ease being there and having her help us. The suit side was tame compared to the dress side. We ended up buying a whole suit, vest, white shirt, 2 ties (we couldn't decide on the color) and 2 pocket chiefs. All for $275 which is less than what we paid to rent at MW. And my son will have this suit until he outgrows it. Perfect for upcoming clubs and interviews his senior year next year. I highly recommend this place for suits and dresses. I'll update my review with a picture of my son on his prom night next month! Thanks ALLY!!!
