    DeWayne's - I missed the upstairs

    DeWayne's

I saw a sign on the highway for DeWayne's on my way to Benson, so I decided to make a stop when I…read moregot to Smithfield. It is located near the Outlet Mall but far enough away (half a mile) from the traffic from there. The shopping center is technically located in Selma, NC. The parking lot is large, but you might still have trouble finding a parking place as it is a busy store. DeWayne's is not an outlet store but a high-quality, family-owned store with name brands. You will find clothing, Pandora, Kendra Scott, Hey Dude, Vineyard Vines, Simply Southern, Tommy Bahama, Julie Vos, Birkenstock, and Yeti coolers, as well as shoes and accessories. I am sure I missed a lot. I wouldn't normally go two days in a row, but after I posted my photos, I saw other photos of the upstairs. So I had to see what I missed, and I decided to go looking for an item. Upstairs was the Attic, where items are discounted 50% and 70% on Wednesdays, I was informed by an employee. Christmas Land is the largest Christmas store in North Carolina, with eleven decorated rooms. The Garden Center with indoor and outdoor plants was another popular area. They had bird seed, different types of soil, and containers. The Sweet Shop had a variety of fudge and Hershey's ice cream. There were other specialty foods throughout the store and closer to the cash registers. Everyone here was friendly, and I was even recognized on my second visit. When I entered for the first time, the employee could tell I was a little overwhelmed and helped me learn the layout of the store. If the outlet mall isn't for you, make sure you stop at DeWayne's for a much better experience. On my first visit, I left with Suzy Zoo items, fudge and chocolates. While I didn't find what I was looking for on the second day, I found something in the Christmas Land that would work. The line to check out was much longer, so I kept finding more items while waiting to pay. It was a good thing I didn't get a cart. They do have a rewards club, which I should have joined, as I am looking forward to returning.

I did not feel at all like she wanted to welcome us. She did not enjoy anything about her job. I ordered two chocolate shakes and an orange aid. The lady asked me if I wanted pineapple or cherries or anything and when I looked at her and said no, I'd like the shakes plain please she snapped at me. I'm talking about the orange aid. I told her I'm not from here. I did not know that you guys added anything to it and I'm sorry. I just want a plain one. We went outside to the patio when our order was done, and I realized I did not have a straw for my orange aid. So my daughter went in to grab another straw and again the young redheaded lady told her I already gave you straws. My daughter said you gave us straws for the shake, but not for the orange drink. The redheaded lady orange told my daughter, You mean, orange aid. No, I wasn't born yesterday and I come here twice a year and I drop a lot of money at your store. I know that it seems like it'd be a desirable place for young people to work because you get a discount and it's a pretty cool place to work at I think that this girl might need some more training or maybe another girl who really wants to work at that store should take her place.

On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, my wife and daughter visited Carley's Formals in hopes to find a…read moreprom dress (we have purchased from here in the past). They were met with very young employees who they described as "very nice". The employee asked my daughter to sign a card consisting of her name, email, and phone number, but never explained as to why she needed to sign the card. During the "fitting" my wife said there was an older short blond female who they later found out was the owner of the establishment named "Denise". Denise was described as being very rude during their visit. At one point a dress was handed to my daughter with the lace corset straps untied by the employee. My daughter tried on the dress (with the help of a friend), but after getting the dress on realized it had a zipper in the back that had not been unzipped. They attempted to unzip the dress to remove it, but the dress would not unzip. They requested the employee help them, however the employee was also not able to unzip the dress. The employee then asked if she could remove the dress without unzipping it? My daughter explained that she was able to put it on without unzipping it, so she could take it off in the same manner. Denise then confronts my (juvenile daughter and her friend) in a very rude manner accusing them of damaging the dress. Then begins to yell inside of the store at my wife. Denise tells my wife that they have a policy that only the person trying on the dress and employee's are allowed in the fitting rooms, that my daughter & her friend damaged the dress and my wife was responsible for the damage. My wife attempts to explain that the zipper was non-functional when it was handed to my daughter and asked if was their policy to not have anyone else in the back, why was it allowed? Denise continued to yell in the store at my wife and her employee's and stated "And that's why we have the policy, because of people like that". During this interaction the entire store stopped shopping and watched Denise belittle my wife in front of her family and other customers. Denise was very rude, unprofessional, and will never have to worry about anyone in my family ever buying a dress from her again. If you're looking for beautiful dresses and great customer service, please go to Bella Esposa at the Carolina Outlet Center in Smithfield! PS for Carley's Formals: Please don't give your standard "copy and paste" response as you normally do, if you want an honest review you got one!

I placed an order with Ivy + Cloth. This business uses a payment method called Shop or Shop Pay,…read morewhich I was unfamiliar with. I expected to manually enter my payment and shipping information as is standard practice, but the transaction was processed automatically with outdated information before I could review or confirm the details. After completing the transaction, I immediately discovered that the order was being shipped to an old address rather than my current one. I immediately attempted to update the shipping information, and it appeared that the change was successful, as they somehow had my correct billing address. However, the shipping address defaulted back to the outdated address without my knowledge, and the item was ultimately shipped there. When I contacted Ivy + Cloth to resolve the issue--requesting either a refund or a reshipment--they declined to take any action. They told me that the only way they would issue a refund or resend the package is if the package is returned to them from the old address. I tried several more times to work with them to resolve an issue, but unfortunately, they do not seem interested in helping me. I find it surprising, especially since they claim that, "Our roots ground us with a hard-working mentality and a kind soul that appreciates every person we come in contact with." I would expect a company with these values to be eager to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction. Happy customers are likely to share positive reviews, which in turn helps a business grow. I hope the company will reconsider its approach to customer service and strive to live up to the values it promotes.

If you've never been to the outlet mall, let me tell you, the drive is worth the trip. And if you like Nautica you'll love the outlet store. Nearly everything was half off. In addition, they had a 15% off sale due to NC no longer having a tax-free weekend which wasn't even advertised. Yay! I bought jeans which fit me well. I'm a 38x32 and their boot cut jeans fit me perfectly. They are nice and baggy. If you want to look like Justin Bieber with some skinny jeans these are not the jeans for you. Of course, they also have a plethora of other casual and dress clothing as well. They also have a nice selection of women's clothing, and there is even a little something for the kids and toddlers. Even though it's a bit of a drive, I always love a good trip to this outlet and usually end up finding a little something for myself on sale as well.
