I love my StyleFinder clothes and I finally put my finger on it the other day...the difference! Since I've had help from someone picking out the right sizes and styles for me, even if I am at my heavier weight, I don't feel fat. How much is that worth ladies? Some of my StyleFinder skirts and dresses have linings in them that help create a nice, tucked in shape without feeling tight or restrictive in any way. Most all of the clothes have a flexible waistline so you're not tugging at it if you gain a few pounds but the clothes are not in any way frumpy! Also, since the staff will help you figure out which pieces are interchangeable, you'll get more bang for your buck...an entire wardrobe, rather than a bunch of random pieces of clothing. I never thought I was a boutique clothing store person and always imagined the clothes were super expensive or kind of on the weird side. Definitely silly, StyleFinder is nothing like that! But I went in this evening to look at some possibilities for a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding and was "fat-shamed" on 3 separate occasions by the sales associate within just 10 minutes time. And I'm a perfectly average - middle of the size scale - woman. For example, when holding up one dress from the rack (in the same size of another dress that the associate had just placed in a dressing room for me), the associate came around and said she only had it left in two sizes, but it might be "okay because it was wide and flowy" - implying that she didn't think my size would fit my body. [Side note: the dress fit perfectly]. I also tried on a dress with pockets that didn't lay flat on my body (but the top of the dress was gaping and too big) and still, the associate made a point to smugly tell me the dress was "too snug". Even if that were the case, she could have gently suggested that other clients have sewn down pockets to help them lay flat, rather than say the fit was too small for me (again, it wasn't). The sad thing is, I tried on another dress that was really cute and tried on a pair of shoes that I liked and wanted to purchase, but after this experience I couldn't fathom spending my money at the store.
