And I say this as someone who has been to many a thrift shop, as well as a couple of the other vintage doors that show up on Yelp in the Research Triangle area. On this occasion I was in dire need of a dress to wear for a mehndi social event and was looking for something very much in alignment to a beautiful multi-colored number I had rented from Rent the Runway last summer. In hindsight, I should have bought that dress when I had a chance, but that's the thing about hindsight. . . Anyways, Dress proved to be a really fun browsing experience. The store is large and the racks are full and generally assorted by color, which really helps when you're looking for something specific. I tried on two items. One: a multicolored tunic style dress and 2: a really cute romper with some lace appliques. Neither of them got me super excited, so I will keep up my search for the dress that got away. Meanwhile I was pleased to find that Dress also has a healthy selection of well-made jewelry, as well as designer shoes for perusal. I may have struck out this time but this shop is definitely going into my rotation. This Brooklyn girl is definitely starved for some fun fashion finds.

I asked what happened. He told me an unleashed aggressive dog was standing directly inside the entrance and loudly snarled and growled at him as he tried to enter the store. The female owner of the dog&store told him the dog was a "rescue" and that it didn't take a liking to men. I have documented allergies to dogs and also fear them for their unpredictable nature as what happened when he casually walked into the store. It's a shame because he probably would have bought me something warm to wear if the dog had not been there growling at him. Also, I only buy second hand from smoke&pet free homes/stores. *Message to management: I've never owned a clothing store, but I've worked at one. It's very important for customers to feel safe and welcomed when trying on clothes and window shopping. In what world is it considered civilized to have an unleashed, untrained and aggressive dog positioned at the head of the store? You are actively discriminating against men shopping at your store by bringing this dog to work. Men like to surprise their girlfriend or wife or mother with something nice to wear from time to time. If you don't have liability insurance for potential dog bites when a man enters your store it might be time to get some. Or, better yet, just install a modern security system and leave your aggressive dog at home or bring it to a shelter. You will be doing the city of Raleigh and it's citizens a favor.

I love my StyleFinder clothes and I finally put my finger on it the other day...the difference! Since I've had help from someone picking out the right sizes and styles for me, even if I am at my heavier weight, I don't feel fat. How much is that worth ladies? Some of my StyleFinder skirts and dresses have linings in them that help create a nice, tucked in shape without feeling tight or restrictive in any way. Most all of the clothes have a flexible waistline so you're not tugging at it if you gain a few pounds but the clothes are not in any way frumpy! Also, since the staff will help you figure out which pieces are interchangeable, you'll get more bang for your buck...an entire wardrobe, rather than a bunch of random pieces of clothing. I never thought I was a boutique clothing store person and always imagined the clothes were super expensive or kind of on the weird side. Definitely silly, StyleFinder is nothing like that! Especially if you have an occasion or event coming up I'd highly recommend that you give this store a try.

I love the selection of clothing that the owners curate here. It's one of those spots that only has a few pieces in every size so if it's gone, it's gone. The shop is overall a bit higher end, but they do have a solid range of prices, and they often have sales or a promotion going on. The easiest way to find out about them is through their Instagram. This is the only store I dragged by four year old to on Black Friday and it was well worth placating him with donuts and repeatedly saying please don't touch anything, to take advantage of those sales! I often get compliments on the pieces I've picked up from here. I think because they are pretty unique it's not the same stuff you'll see at every other boutique around town. I like their Kut Jeans, so many beautiful dresses from Buddy Love, they also have a lot of pieces from the Spanx line. I also like that they are size inclusive ehre, you'll see a variety of models showing off the awesome pieces on Instagram. A great place to support a local women owned business!
