I have shopped here many times over 20 years and this is the first really bad expierence, but it was enough to put me off the store forever. The people who fitted my daughter and I were rude and acted as though they didn't want to be there. I kept asking if our selections were too tight only to be reassured that these were fine. They only measured me over the top of my current bra and the fittings in the past had included more measurments. I did buy 3 bras thinking maybe I was wrong and they were right and never was told no returns. Now, it does say all sales are final on the reciept which you get AFTER you buy something obviously, but then it's too late anyway. I ended up going to Belk and a shop in Cameron village and sure enough they put me in a bigger size (my daughter too). So I went to take the bras back and the sales person was like "well it's posted everywhere, no returns" and shrugged. So I'm out 200 dollars and haven't even put the product on outside of the store. Finally went here for a fitting and it was LIFE CHANGING!!!Forget all the new bras that promise what you are looking for and go HERE for a fitting. You will NEVER look back!! All these women know what they are doing and you will be so glad you went. First professional fitting since I was 12 years old and I am sooo pleased. More expensive than what I have been buying, but sooo worth it. Little did I know, I needed three sizes smaller with some parts larger to feel and look so much better. Terrific experience at Bra Patch - the lady that helped us, Beth, was the sweetest lady. She handled my daughter's bra fitting very well (daughter is 17). Beth made my daughter feel very comfortable and Beth knew her stuff! My daughter had been wearing a completely wrong size and after a fitting and trying on a few bras, she found the perfect size and style. This place is not cheap, two bras set me back $158, but for a good, quality bra, I'm ok with that cost. Great selection of bras, helpful staff and good location. First time I went, I asked for a strapless bra on my size. I'm blessed in the breast department so it was a long shot ,but when I asked they literally scoffed and said, "oh no one makes strapless In that size." It hurt but okay, I get it, I wasn't going to find a bra. Second time I went I lost some weight and needed to be fit for a new bra. The employee doing my fitting just looked at me (before I had even taken off my shirt) and said, "doesn't look like the girls lost any weight!" And continued to try to sell me a bra that was definitely too big. I later was sized at a different store to find out I had gone down 3 band sizes and two cup sizes. Third times the charm right? I walked in and asked again to be fit for a new bra after loosing weight. The two employees kept looking at their watches like I was keeping them from something (it was not close to closing time) and proceeded to ask me my current size. I told them but said I was looking for something new because it was too loose on me. They walked around the store looking at racks telling me they didn't have my size. Even after explaining multiple times I no longer fit in that size bra. If you know what you're looking for, I'm sure this is a great place. But the customer service is appalling and the employees were rude in lazy every single time. I kept trying and hoping for a different outcome but it's always a waste of time. read more

This place is this place to go if you are needing a specialty bra or even just a super quality bra. For Myself, I was looking for a strapless bra that was not super uncomfortable. I am no sure If that 100% exists but I did find one that fit well and wasn't terribly uncomfortable. The downside is you need yo expect to spend a good amount of money, but hopefully the upside is they should last longer since they are better quality. You may get there and have to wait a long while for a dressing room. You must sign in upon entering if you plan to be fitted or try on or both. A personal attendant helps you, which is awesome, but that does take time, so make sure to bake that into your trip. read more

Do not waste your time and effort driving to this store. I went specifically after having difficulty with my current bras, hoping to get some more insight into why they were not working. I left without purchasing anything and also feeling very dismissed. I was offered several options to try on, none of which were any more comfortable than the current styles I am wearing. I was told that they did not have anything else for me and that maybe I should just consider not wearing a bra. If I had consider that as a viable option, I would not have driven out of my way to go to this store. Then the sales person asked me if I had another piece of gum I could share with her. Instead of visiting The Bra Patch, a specialty store that is supposed to have expertise in these matters, I recommend hitting some of the big box bra stores such as Soma or Victoria's Secret where they at least seem to care about finding you a comfortable bra. I have been going here for about ten years - it's great for when you feel lost and can't find the right fit. During fittings they act as personal shoppers - give feedback and help you find the best fit. I've filled up a few loyalty cards now - they usually stock more expensive bras but then again, expensive to whom? I'm used to paying $75-$100 for bras so it's pretty cheap comparatively. Although, most people would find it expensive, I think the value of being fitted makes the experience worth it. I do make the 30+ mile trek every year or so to stock up. read more

We walked in and asked if they had an extra mask bc we had forgotten one and were snapped at that we couldn't be in there. If their policy is such that you absolutely cannot come in without a mask consider having some on hand like ALL other businesses these days and at a MINIMUM just be nice about it. I have personally only had great experiences at the Bra Patch. If you don't like busy or tight roads, getting here might be a little frustrating. The store is right off of old wake forest rd, in the same plaza as Kanki's. If you'd like a fitting, there is a sign in sheet on the table right when you first walk in. The store is small and looks pretty dated, but they are good at what they do, so aesthetics is the last thing for me in this case. They specialize in hard-to-find sizes (bra and bathing suit!) and I am so glad I heard by word of mouth. I used to go to this one particular department store because they were the only ones who carried my size, but there would be about 2 options. It was super frustrating because I'm young but have a large cup size with a small band size, so the bras typically looked very matronly. Well, at the Bra Patch, you'll get a personal fitter who goes in the dressing room with you (or whatever your comfort level is) and measures you, and then pulls some styles for you to try, depending on what you're looking for. When you have it on, they let you know if it is fitting based off of certain standards, but of course, take in to account how YOU feel in it. All of the bras I have bought have been so tasteful and look appropriate for my age, even though my bra size isn't usually seen in my age group. The prices have matched up or been cheaper than what I would buy at the department store or online (but at least I didn't have to worry about it not fitting and having to return it). I would say the average for my larger-sized bras have been ~$62. They do not take returns, so please take the time to really get a feel for the bra and let the employee know how you feel! They also have punch cards for buying bras, and on your 6th one you get 1/2 off of a bra. If you've ever cried, been frustrated, or struggled in any way to find a properly fitting bra, please please please give the Bra Patch a try. I went in looking for a push up bra. The lady who helped me first measured me and got me some options to try on. When I stated they felt a bit too tight her answer was "Well it's because you don't wear a bra you don't know how tight it's supposed to feel. This isn't too tight". So that was frustrating. Then I told her I was really In the search of a good push up bra just for her to tell me they don't really sell those, which is fine. My mother and I have visited The Bra Patch on multiple occasions in the past. We were always kindly greeted and asked if we needed any assistance. Regardless of what you may feel a customers mood is, it is your job as a representative of a business especially a small business to show respect and kindness to your customers. A woman standing near a rack of bras made no attempt to greet me whatsoever and I did my best to walk around to find something for my mom. Finally an older woman with gray hair came and asked if I needed help. I was thankful she had asked but was already thrown by the mood and shift in the how I had been treated. My mother decided to come in, and she was also ignored. The employees stared at her as if she had a cancerous growth on her face. My mother asked if they had a specific type of bra and she was treated as if the best advice were to just leave and ask no more questions. You do not know what your customers deal with or go through and so though needless to say at this point, we WILL not be coming here to shop ever again. First off, let me say that I'm not sure how any bra shopping experience could ever reach a 5, because the nature of the beast is just that you are uncomfortable and weirded out. And I'm a pretty comfortable person...I've done group performance art and been involved in plenty of open dressing rooms and sleeping arrangements. So a 4 for bra shopping is as good as it's going to get, if I'm being honest. Let me start with me: I'm a giant. 5'9", plus size, and my bra size falls somewhere in the Sofia Vergara range. So running up to the Belk's or Kohl's just doesn't work for me. You start tossing around anything larger than a "D" word and they stare blankly, or pull out a bra that literally looks like it belonged to Bea from the Golden Girls. Not at Pennyrich, thank God. I don't know why after hearing mouth to mouth recs for this place for years, I have never bothered to go. What drove me here this time was the fact that I purchased 10 bras online, excitedly ripped open the packaging when they arrived, and tried every...single...one on with no luck. TEN. Geez. So finally, I had the time and motivation to go get measured and try stuff on in a store. My bra patch lady didn't make me take my bra off, just measured underneath it and then kept bringing me bras to try. Each time, she would ask how something fit, I would show her what I did/didn't like about things and she would go get more until hallelujah, I found a bra that worked. Two, actually. And I actually found their selection to be awesome, even for my size. They were not all boring white cotton, either. In fact, I came home with a black lace number that was very pretty and flattering, and a nude everyday convertible bra that I CAN ACTUALLY WEAR STRAPLESS! (Those of you who wear an E/F/FF/G with me can understand how exciting this is.) Yes, I spent $120, but for the brands I bought (Freya and Fantasie) the prices were comparable (if not less) than what I've seen on sites like Bare Neccessities and Full Beauty. So, I'm a plus sized and well endowed lady. I heard about this place in some local paper a while ago, and when it was time to go bra shopping I decided to give them a shot. Ultimately, I ended up buying two bras but now that I know my size range I doubt I'll be going back. Since I was driving from Carrboro, I tried to confirm they were open and still in business before I made the drive. I called the number on their website. It was busy. I tried several times over the course of an hour, and it kept ringing as busy. I called the number on Yelp (it was different than the one listed on their site) and it rang as a fax. I hopped in the car and made the drive, and was very happy to find that they were open. Sadly, I forgot to mention this to the ladies at the shop. The whole fitting experience was awkward. I had to be topless in small quarters with a woman who was polite, but very cold. It took about 10 minutes and I bought two bras that fit from them, mainly feeling a bit pressured because of the nudity. The selection was very limited. I prefer seamless bras, but that store doesn't carry any in my size. It bothers me a bit, because they carry Le Mystere, just not the larger sizes. I came home and ordered some online and they fit great, and look so much more appealing than what The Bra Patch had to offer. All in all... I'm glad I got professionally fitted but most likely won't be going back unless for some reason I can't order online. read more

I drove almost 2 hours to arrive at the Bra Patch, hopeful that I would finally have a store to order from instead of wasting money on returning bras from online shopping (I have a hard to fit bra size). I walked into the store and after some time, discovered on my own that you needed to sign up at the front desk in order to do anything (get a fitting room, get sized). The wait was long, so in order to save time, I started looking at the bras and I picked one out that I thought might fit. A female employee, dressed in a maxi striped white and blue dress wearing a white cardigan, with straight brown hair came up to me and asked in a cold manner if I had signed up at the front. I said yes. Then she scolded me and said to only pick out 3 bras max, even though I only had one in my hand. I sat back down to wait, and got tired of the cold, rude service I had received so I left without purchasing anything. I would've purchased $200 or more worth of items that day. Such a shame. The manager here was very rude to my daughter and me as we were checking out today - spending close to $400. We were the only ones in the store, and since I was feeling woozy from the chemical smell of the mask and not near anyone, I pulled my mask under my nose. She saw me in her camera and raced out of the back to literally harass me as I was trying to PAY, demanding that I leave. I tried to explain but she was insistent and rude. Employees were helpful and apologetic, clearly in disagreement with the manager's behavior, which is the only reason I completed the sale since I know they work on commission. I had been referred to The Bra Patch years ago, and kick myself for not making the trip from Fayetteville much sooner. I was assisted by Candace for a fitting, and it was a "match made in heaven." She was so professional but personable, which made the the experience so much fun. She brought me an adequate array of bra styles to try, and also helped me get fitted properly for the style I was used to. Needless to say, I came home with a large selection, and I am going to have a BRA BURNING PARTY at home this weekend, for all my ill-fitted bras! My doctor recommended this place to me. Since I have been having bra-fit issues lately I decided it was worth it to check them out. They are located about a mile past the Trader Joe's on Wake Forest Rd. The parking lot was really tight, but I am assuming this is because I went on a busy Saturday early afternoon. The hype of this place is that they measure you and work with you one-on-one to find you bras that fit your needs. I put my name down on the list for one of their "expert" fittings but as I strolled around waiting for my turn, I realized I couldn't afford much in the store. The fitting also just consisted of her measuring around my rib cage. I don't know what makes this any better or different than what they do at Victoria Secret and other bra stores. They carry some different brands that I haven't heard of, but again unfortunately they were mostly out of my price range. The woman working with me was knowledgable, but was sort of rude. Perhaps it was because they were busy that day. However, for such an intimate/awkward situation, I would have expected a friendlier attitude, but she seemed inconvenienced/annoyed. At one point, when I gave her feedback about one of the bras she selected, she even said "that's just the brand..there is nothing *I* can do about it." Ok..I wasn't asking her to, but I figured feedback is what they need to pick out other bras. I felt bad leaving empty handed, so I ended up purchasing a bra-lette which was decently priced. went in looking for a few everyday bras. nothing special, just comfortable and to look good. unfortunately I am not one to put up a big fuss. I wasn't impressed with "the professional bra fitter".she looked at the size of my old bra and never measured me. she came in with the same bra in 2 different colors. she had me try on both saying sometimes different colors fit different. I tried on both. told her they were just okay. she said they fit perfect and I'd be happy once I wore it. i left wearing 1 I knew by the end of the evening I hated it. I took the other back the next time they were open still had tags obviously not worn. the lady kept saying all sales final. all sales final all sales final. yes ma'am I understand English but clearly I am not happy and all I want is an exchange. finally the original lady who helped me said we could try again. well guess what I hate this one too. before I left I was told yadda yadda about how they will only make this exception 1 time because it was basically a favor. so how many times would you expect me to come in trying to exchange something. but rest assure you are not making an exception. rather I have you a second chance and you blew it. I drove an hour to get here and was really disappointed with what I ended up purchasing. The website looks really enticing with claims that they can fit up to an N cup. However, when I went in for a fitting, I was told that the 2 bras I tried one were the ONLY options I would have because of my size. The salesperson ended up measuring me as a 40J in Elomi and I bought 2 bras because in the fitting room they seemed ok. When I got in my car and started driving, the wire started to really dig into my rib cage and I tried to wear it a few more days but ended up with bruising. I also made the mistake of ordering a sports bra from them because I thought they had sized me correctly. I have since learned that my cup size is actually 2-3 cup sizes smaller in the same or similar brands, so I was fitted really poorly and that could be contributing to why the wire is hitting me so low and poking my rib cage. I've spent many, many hours online and making returns trying to find *one* bra that fits well and suits me. I have a couple candidates that seem ok, but I was really really hoping that Bra Patch would be the final solution. If you drove a long way to get here and are mostly sure that it fits well in the store, I would suggest purchasing only one and then trying it on at home for a few days before you decide you want another color because this store is final sale only. read more

I have gone to this place for years. Previously I had gone to lots of large chain stores (like Victoria's secret). I have a rather large bust size for my frame. They'd always say we could increase the band, but I'd have problems "staying in place". A friend suggested this place and I checked them out. Commercial stores had told me I was a 38 DD. After a measurement with their expert I was told I was a 34 H. WORLDS difference!! I try on a few bras and for the first time in a long time I wasn't sneaking to adjust a falling strap, or steeping in the restroom to adjust the girl's in their cup. The difference with these guys is FIT. Yes, there are fewer brands who produce properly fitting bras after you get past our more average cup sizes. This is even more true if you're larger at the bust than the waist WHICH IS WHY THEY MEASURE YOUR WAIST. Yes, lots of women are not use to that, but lots of women are also wearing the wrong sized bra. Ever since I started shopping here I can bend over to pick up a pen I dropped without even thinking about everything staying where it should, and that's what sets these guys apart. They're not telling me I'm a size that they have in stock, because they don't carry my size. They won't tell you go up in the band, it is the same thing (it isn't). They'll tell you what your size is, and they will even order styles in your size if you have the willingness to wait. I wish the selection was greater, but I have found that generally the selection in my size is not as vast as the selection for more general sizing. There simply are not as many suppliers making bras pass DD, and they're generally more expensive. I find they're worth every penny. read more

I got fitted for a bra and the salesperson brought in a few styles to me, but there wasn't much for me to choose from. I went to The Bra Patch today to buy some new nursing bras. The ones I'd been wearing hadn't been fitting well, and I was hoping both for some help with fitting and for some high quality replacement for my current bras. This store had been recommended to me by a friend, so I thought it would be a good place to start. My initial impression wasn't good. When I came in the door, a woman behind the desk at the front asked abruptly if I would need to be fitted that day. I said yes, and she added my name to a list of those waiting. I was about the fifth person in line, so I looked around while I waited. The inside of the store is pretty shabby, and a bit musty. The merchandise isn't well organized, and there weren't as many options as I expected. All the nursing bras were jumbled together on one rack with no sorting by style or size. I figured I would just have to wait until a salesperson was available to find the right one for me. I waited for about twenty-five minutes to see someone. This was understandable, as they were busy. I assumed they were giving their other customers professional one-on-one service, and I expected they would do the same for me when it was my turn. When the saleswoman brought me to the dressing room, I started to explain what I was looking for and the issues I was having with the bras I was wearing now. She seemed distracted, and I was only able to give her a little information before she suggested she measure me. She measured me around my rib cage only, and over the top of my clothes. She pulled the tape very tight. She left the room, and came back in a few minutes with a single bra. She left while I tried it on. It was very tight in the band, and barely fit in the cups. I figured I would explain this in a minute when she returned to check on me, so I stood there in the bra waiting for her to return. While I waited, I heard her bring another customer back to be fitted. I stood there half-dressed for more than twenty minutes listening her discuss this other person's needs and options. I noticed other sales people were waiting while their customers changed so they could see how the fit was, but this person did not do so. After standing there for almost a half hour (which isn't easy, as I'm very pregnant), I finally gave up, changed back into my own clothes, and left the bra she'd brought me in the fitting room. On my way out, I let another employee know I would be taking my business elsewhere. read more

My mom and I thought we would browse while waiting. Their selection was terrible. Target has a better selection! My mom asked the sales lady if that was all they had and she was very aloof and said when it was my turn for a fitting they could bring in some from the back. I always shopped at Victoria's Secret and I always had bras that just didn't fit. I heard about this place through a friend and I went in to get sized and I had to put my name on a waiting list and I waited but it was well worth the wait. My back hurts way less and I don't have that always awkward double boob going on. They were incredibly helpful and kind. I thought it was a little crazy how busy it was but I won't go anywhere else anymore. They have a decent selection in stores but they can show you a catalog that they can order out of and it makes the selection way bigger. I will be going back again in the future for sure! read more

This was the most disappointing bra shopping I have done. Not only are they rude on the phone but they are rude in person. Their selection is very limited and they tried to tell me to size up for more comfort. When I asked them to order me the correct size they don't do that. I wanted to cry by the time I left because they are not friendly and it is already a nerve racking experience to have to shop for bras when you are big chested by a size 4. On the recommendation of other reviewers, I drove out to Burlington and found Sophisticated Pair. There were 4 other customers in the store yet I was greeted promptly and offered help if it was needed. I had the girl fit me and she agreed that I needed a 30G/GG unlike bra patch telling me I needed a 34DD. She asked what I wanted in a bra and pulled me a couple different styles. Then she offered to place orders for anything I wanted and to ship it to me free of charge. I bought 4 bras and ordered another 3. Bra patch could learn a thing or two about customer service. In this economy I am going to go to a store that works with me and goes above and beyond to set themselves apart by being knowledgeable and courteous. read more
