My husband and I…read morewere celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and my husband contacted Jeremy to cook an AMAZING surprise anniversary meal in our home after a weekend away. Jeremy created a top notch 4-course meal for us to enjoy together. My favorite was the scallops, Jeremy really cares about the ingredients he uses and serves and you can honestly see it when he's at work in the kitchen. They were out of this world! He was professional, friendly and extremely talented with his cooking skills-and of course the food he made was phenomenal! My husband and I also loved his rendition of a s'mores dessert which left us more than satisfied with the decadent chocolate and creamy gooey marshmallow topping! It was so special to have Family Table involved with the anniversary surprise. We highly recommend him for future dinners and events (birthdays, anniversary, dinner parties etc). Such a unique and memorable experience! Thanks for making our anniversary night even more special.

If you are visiting Columbia and want to eat like a local, you gotta try Omega's. This place is the…read moreopposite of fancy: mismatched tables and chairs, no real decor to speak of, drink cases and refrigerators along one wall. It's 100% about the food. Go to the window and place your order from the menu that changes daily. It's kind of like a meat-and-three where you choose your entree and side dishes from a short menu. We haven't had anything from here that was bad, but the standouts include the chicken and dumplings, whiting fish, and oxtail. Fried items are fried fresh; they don't sit in a steam table abdcget mushy. The sides are made from scratch and don't forget the strawberry cake for dessert! Prices are affordable and carryout is an option. Check Facebook for their daily menu. We used to live in Columbia but we moved away over a year ago. We came back for our first visit and Omega's was our first priority for lunch. We're here for just a couple more days and we may very well go back.

Great BBQ and friendly service. I had the opportunity to try Champs Smokin BBQ at the "Eat the…read moreStreet" food truck festival in Franklin, and it was excellent. I opted for the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Cole Slaw on it, along with "The Shuffle" sweet BBQ sauce (they offer several other sauces, including spicy). When I got my sandwich I couldn't believe how piled high it was with pulled pork and slaw! Very generous portions! The pulled pork was super tender, moist, and delicious. The cole slaw was really tasty with a bit of sweetness. The sandwich was really good, and with the generous portions I got to enjoy grabbing a fork and finishing off the pork that fell onto my plate. They mostly do catering and events, but with BBQ this good I'm hoping they'll have a restaurant location at some point soon. In the meantime track them down at an event if you'd like some delicious BBQ with great service!

I had to come back and update my review because this place continues to impress me. If you haven't…read morebeen to Light Hill Meats yet, you're seriously missing out. The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!
