For me, Boba Time is the OG of all boba places out there. I am always down to try new boba spots but I always come back to this spot from time to time. This location is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking as well as ADA acces. It is very spacious, clean and organized. They usually have a line with a cashier and some kiosk for self-checkout. My all-time fave is their coconut strawberry smoothie with strawberry popping boba. I've came here several times and everytime it's been a good experience. I love that they now have ordering kiosks for quick ordering. I hadn't had boba in a while and decided to stop in (while picking up dinner next door) for a sweet lil' treat! I ordered their Coconut Strawberry Smoothie with boba and I INHALED it in like 5 minutes. My only regret? I should have gotten a large! We previously took a group of campers to this location for boba tea. We were a larger group during the week to try and cause as little disruption as possible. The staff requested that if we come back to call ahead as a heads up. I attempted to do so today and was literally told to not come and that my "request was denied". The drinks are good (we got a Thai tea and cookies and cream blended large) and the birthday cake macaroon was okay but nothing to brag don't and the cost for all of it was $16.75 which seems high since the large isn't really that big. I had to ask for service because they expect to use their kiosk but they don't take cash. Two people got their orders in before us because of this even though we were there first. This was my first time at boba time. The store was not buys and the ambiance felt like that of a cool place to hang out. No super loud music or loud people. I ordered a small butterfly lemonade with light ice. The ordering process was a large screen at the counter with a pretty easy image identification system. Select the picture and modify if needed. It felt very unwelcoming, I personally prefer to speak with the person who works at the establishment and ask what they like. 8 out of 10 time I will order what their favorite drink is. With this system it took the interaction away. The drink was ok I ordered it 75% sweet I should have ordered 100%. The color layering was beautiful but the flavor was lacking. It did not taste like a lemonade. Over all the experience was different and quick. I enjoy having interactions with the employees so I probably wouldn't go back but that has nothing to do with the actual drink. Dropped in yesterday while waiting on my pizza next door. I was debating what to try when I saw the sunrise tea and I was immediately sold. The tea was delicious, it layered perfectly and was a great blend with the tea, lemonade and passion fruit juice, it was really refreshing. The loss of star is for the service, it was really slow. There appeared to only be one girl working and she never approached the front except to put drinks out. When I first walked in there was a couple at the kiosk trying to order and clearly having a hard time. The staff never came up and offered to help or take their order manually, just left them struggling for several minutes. When I got my order in it took a while to come up, my pizza was waiting for me when I went back next door. I placed an online order an hour in advance for a 12:15 PM pickup. When I arrived right on time, I went to the pickup area expecting my drink to be ready or at least acknowledged. Instead, no one greeted me or asked if I was there for pickup. It wasn't even busy -- maybe four orders being made and about five customers in the store total. I've been here during much busier times, so I know this was a slow period. Still, I ended up waiting while staff finished in-person orders first. One cashier even walked to the back to chat with a coworker after finishing with the line, looked at me a few times, but didn't say anything. Ordering ahead is supposed to save time, but in this case, it actually took longer than if I had waited in line. As someone who orders ahead partly to manage anxiety and avoid crowded waits, this was frustrating. They have extensive Boba flavors...Matcha appears to be a thing here as the creations look so delicious. I always tell my assistant "Go BIG or Go Home" so we ended up getting the larger size which was perfect for our sweet tooths. I've been to one other It's Boba Time location in the past (the Topanga Mall one) and had a good experience there, so I was expecting something similar here. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. When we walked in, we waited for a long time just to order, even though there was only one person in front of us. There were a ton of employees that I could see mingling in the back or just standing behind the register but not opening the second one. That was certainly a bit irritating. I ended up ordering a Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Boba and a Milk Tea w/ Boba for my brother. While we waited for our drinks to be made we noticed people who ordered after us receiving theirs first, and when I looked in the kitchen area I could see a bunch of the employees just standing around and talking. Finally, we got our drinks. My brother's milk tea was terrible. It tasted more like Oreo's than like milk tea. My jasmine milk tea did not taste like any one that I have had in the past, which is not a good thing. I couldn't put my finger on the taste but it was the worst jasmine milk tea I've ever had. Usually I would rave about this place, I love coming in here and seeing the friendly service, and happy faces . However it's concerning that a place that is so highly concerned with a mask mandate has a staff who doesn't require all of their employees to wear gloves during COVID-19 when preparing food but is quick to rub a mandate in our faces, meanwhile only half of their staff is wearing gloves while preparing our food. When I ask the manager why only half of the staff are wearing gloves while handling food, as they were frequently spilling and constantly cleaning up with rags and telling customers to put masks on or leave. The manager responded by stating the mandate only requires that we wear masks, it doesn't require them to wear gloves. Im aware that because drinks aren't a food, your not required by law to wear gloves to prepare. They also are not a soda your pouring from a fountain. Your making slushees, boba, teas, chicken, etc. It goes without saying that during covid if we as customers are expected to take extra precautions to protect ourselves and others from getting covid then you as a business should also should take the extra precautions to protect us as a business from bacteria exchange. Get some Damn gloves for your employees!! as soon as we remove our masks and consume our food we've now placed what ever germs you've needlessly put your unwashed uncovered hands all over into our mouths.
