What I liked best about this little German shoppe was the extra "oompf" of the bakery goods. The owner was nice and personable, fielding our questions about all the goodies. Worth checking out!

I went for donuts and the local shop was closed. Lucky break, because it led me to find the nearest bakery and I found this gorgeous shop. Owner Susan greeted me and offered so much info and to show me everything that she has in the bakery case. I bought over a dozen baked goods and a quiche. Everything was yummy and beautiful. The shop itself is so cute! Susan is German and the shop looks like a quaint German shop. The walls are painted with flourishes and the shelves and display cases are packed full of goodies from baked goods to tea tins to small gifts.

We stopped in here after having lunch next door to pick up some treats for our family - the shop itself feels like granny's bake shop, very cute but overwhelmed with product. All of the pre-packed treats looked delicious, some outsourced not from the bakery. However, the pastries in the case looked very stale - to the point where I questioned if they were display items. To be safe, we got some oatmeal raisin cookies & chocolate chip shortbreads - the main reason for my low rating is that these two items were $30, absolutely insanely high pricing. These were a gift to our family so I was just going to pay to give them the treats, but otherwise I would've put them back. The good side is that both cookies were good! Oatmeal raisin was soft and chewy, the chocolate chip shortbread buttery and flakey. Nothing too special though for the price pint.

First time coming to this bakery and it didn't disappoint! Plenty for you to choose from! Fresh pastries, pies, macrons, speciality popcorn, chocolates & the list goes on! Even doggie cookies! (No pic, gave them to my baby & he loved them!) There was 1 big wild berry homemade pie. I bake myself, this pie, a 10!!! Absolutely delicious!!!! More on the pricey side, but worth every bite! Enjoy! The owner is super sweet & friendly!

Terrible macaroons! Stale and fell apart. $32.00 for this mess

What an absolute rip off! $32.00 for 6 macaroons and 2 shortbread cookies. The macaroons were absolutely disgusting and stale! They seem old and have been sitting for ... idk a month?! Wish we wouldn't have paid cash so I could dispute the charges. Terrible... and nothing had pricing on it! $32.00!? Wth

Amazing chocolate cake! With importedBelgium Chocolate and frosting to die for.

The best chocolate cake we ever had! Bought the amazing cake for dad's 90th bday, and he said it was the best cake he has enjoyed in his 90 years! It made his birthday celebration even more special. Thank you, Susan...You are gifted! We could tell you put some extra TLC into this cake for him. Will return for every special occasion moving forward!

Review the negative reviews, Now I know they are accurate and I wish I had considered them prior to losing $100 plus at this merchant. I encourage persons reading to look for a more honest baker/bakery, one that is not over-priced and advertises products where they change or modify ingredients including the look of the product from a picture clearly posted on their website! Divine Bakery stands among the quirky, cute shops of Cave Creek, but it is not divine. The owner Susan agreed to make a cake for Sunday 10/27/24 for me. I called Friday 10/25 asking for availability of her European Mocha Fudge Cake, as pictured and named on her website! I assumed this was a popular product and at least would be available as a whole cake or slices on Saturday 10/26. An associate Barbara, I believe shared she would have to call the baker and that the cake could maybe be made last minute, but would cost extra. Instead of the usual $25-30 extra, they charged ~$10 extra to make the cake last minute. In total, I was charged $107.46 on my credit card on Friday 10/25. I did think this was a very expensive charge for a cake and wished I had said no to the purchase at that time. There is no cake price list on Susan's website. The picture of the cake I was to receive and the ingredients (for example fudge and mocha) were not part of the cake I received. This was a weird texture chocolate cake with buttercream that did not taste good or like any buttercream I had in the past. I emailed Susan Sunday evening requesting a 75% refund, to which she immediately went into defensive mode about her product, sharing she made it last minute and pretty much not as it usually is made, adding, or doing extra things for the cake I received. That is even more weird. Susan was defensive and she also texted anticipating I guess that I would write a bad review. I usually do not write reviews unless something is very wrong. Susan's lack of awareness and humility in perhaps something being wrong told me to at least be honest and warn others. Susan kept trying to offer a $25 gift credit to return to her bakery, but her cake texture was so off-putting, I would prefer to stay away from anything she bakes and I do not live near Cave Creek. I would never return a cake and understand the rules on perishable products, but she kept discussing that as well. I felt foolish for spending a $100 on a cake 8-10 inches and hope to spare others from making a similar mistake at Divine Bakery. See some copies of Susan's texts below and the picture of the cake on her website compared to what I received.

Excellent Bakery...Love this place. My favorite is the baklava...fresh, made with real ingredients and comes in bite sized portions.

The dirty birdy and whiskey buck were such a hit we had a few. The appetizers we tried were delicious. The seared ahi tasted yummy and the pork belly with its crunchy exterior was gobbled up quick. We then tried the cauliflower and steamed clams. The broth for the clams was so good, we asked for more bread to sop it up. The cauliflower was yummy and everything on the plate was eaten up. The girls were full after that, but I wanted to try the beet salad. Have to say, one of the best I've ever had. Beets, arugula, goat cheese, walnuts (I think) and Orange slices with a tasty vinaigrette. Although the girls were 'full', they saw that and had to try it. Nothing left in that bowl as well. Overall, very pleasantly surprised and will for sure return to try other items on the menu. Service was great btw! My wife and I will certainly be back!

There is something on the menu for everyone, and it's all delish! Whether you're looking for some small plates to share or a full on meal, they have it all. The vibe is fresh and welcoming. Not pretentious. One of the owners has stopped by our table every visit, just to say hi and thank us for coming. It felt genuine and unforced. If we lived closer, this would be our #1 go-to joint. That we have to make an effort to visit and still do says it all. Enjoy!!!

Friendly, warm and knowledgeable. Our waitress has been there for over 10 years and knew the menu so well, wine and food and made wonderful recommendations. She made us feel like we were at home eating there. We started with the classic French 75 cocktail and scallops , delicious. French onion soup top notch, ate every drop :). We ordered the 1/2 lamb (phenomenal ) and filet with peppercorn and bordelaise sauce. Finished with the vanilla soufflé ... which is a must and totally worth it, shareable and the soufflé I've ever had. All was delicious and totally recommend. Each cooked to perfection in temp and served perfectly to enjoy.

(and no, she is not French - no one there is) When ordering my glass of wine, our waiter confirmed that it was dry. There were 2 options according to him, both the most expensive of their white glasses at $13.50. The wine I chose was not in fact dry. It was in front of me for a while so I drank half - but after a bit I flagged a different waiter to please clear it before I drank any more. Our waiter saw the glass gone about 10 mins later, asked if I wanted another. I said it was not dry, so no thanks, and he nicely brought out a different option for me to try before I then committed. The bill came and I was charged for both wines. Yes, I drank half the first glass, but again, I asked a waiter to clear it, and mentioned twice that I didn't think it matched the description I verified with our waiter before ordering. The waiter went to ask the manager if they could remove the 1st wine, and she started yelling at him. I heard, so I said "ok, I can hear you, I don't think that's cool but I'll pay for it". Then, she started yelling at me. She never came out, just yelled from the back. The good parts: our waiter was nice, and the homemade pate is delicious. But, the escargots were rubbery, and the steak tartare is a country-style chunky hash with differently-sized chunks of egg whites in it, rather than a minced tartare in a patty-form. Wish the menu had said that. Overall: aghast that the manager yelled at the top of her lungs at patrons during service - without even revealing herself or discussing with us in the flesh. Truly terrifying, beware! Not what you'd expect from a Cave Creek experience at all.
