Been with this company for over 10 years, called in today to cancel my service, all i have received from the rep = pure bs. Service is renewed yearly, if you miss the date, expect to pay another full year without refund. Or you could cancel anytime and receive no refund. Either way, they have your money. Phone : hard to make successful calls during chinese new year. Over priced compared to free internet call services provided by voip or even wechat, google etc. Tv: serverely over priced service with minimal customer service. If you are late one day to the cancellation period, you are charged for another year with no refund. Customer sercice: if you need to reach any rep, expect to call 4 times, each time redirects you to another department. Yes, you need to physically hang up and redial by yourself. Recommendation: if you want to survive in the age of free internet phone, free chinese tv streaming, make yourself better, not only making signup easier, but also cancellation. Ridiculous. read more

Don't ever sign up with them, they said they have 24 hours customer and they don't cancel out even after repeated request. Cancellation was a nightmare... They will scare you with returning the devices in 15 days (you pay the shipping btw), if not returning, the fess is $110+ for two devices. And there was hidden fee like annual renewal fee($50) for the TV, and we were paying standard $10 per month for the phone for the past 3 years(which we never used) plus premium if any minutes. When I asked why I paid the $10 which I never used, they said it's a bundle deal with the TV... Be sure you know what you are obligated to before signing up. Just not worth it overall. the issue is not with the us based staff or other related like app, it is the phone line quality, I purchased the data package before I go back after I purchased BB card (it starts with a 170 number) which is a virtual number issued by china unicom, somehow the number only get 2 G or 3G data signal when I arrived in Shanghai and unable to surf the net..or bring the app up, I have another card got from my relative while in hangzhou and that card somehow has 4 G data rate.. both are on the same phone, due to I have a phone with 2 SIM card slot.. I don't know why they force you to lock the contract .. if the service is that bad. I was told when I was in china to tune my phone, which I did, did not resolve any issue, I see their data rate is 3G in china and not a 4 G or LTE like.. read more

I have used iTalkBB for almost 3 years. I am suprised to find out there are only two reviews here. My friends and I pretty enjoy their services, compare to phone cards or long distant fee charged by other phohe company, iTalkBB allow me to easily make calls either domestically or internationally easily and save me quiet a bit money. Especially, my family can use their Taiwan local number to call me in the U.S., and don't need to worry about the cost of internation calling, it's awesome for me. In the cancellation process, mailed phone and TV equipment back to them (otherwise some exorbitant fee was to be charged). USPS tracking showed that it was received 4 days ago by an individual at the company. When we called to make sure our services were completely cancelled, the customer service rep told us something remarkable--they had only received and cancelled the phone services, but not the TV services because they had not received the equipment! It was absolutely ridiculous because we had mailed it in one box. Both times we called about the issue, we were told they were investigating and would get back to us in 24-48 hours. Of course, no apologies, no explanation of what could have happened, no assurance that they would give us an answer. Never got a phone call back. Will have to follow up with them again in a day. My theory is that (very likely) they misplaced or did not log the receipt of the TV equipment, which does happen to be quite a bit more expensive than the phone equipment that they did claim to have received. Otherwise this is one of the least subtle fraud strategies ever, and they want to drag this out to August when they can charge again. (Not to mention the continuous charges when we were not even using the TV service, and the fact that we were charged for service all the way through September and will not be getting any refund.) read more

When you search ITalkBB, whatever services you want to from it, DO NOT consider it as your option. It will ruin your life. A lot of hidden fees, difficult to get rid of. You really should AVOID using any type of services from this company. iTalkBB provides mediocre service at an excessive price. And god forbid if you ever need to transfer your phone service/phone number from iTalkBB to another company. iTalkBB will make it extremely difficult if not nigh on impossible for you to do so. They will make every type of excuses and pull out every trick from the book including provide you with wrong account information in order to delay/stall the process. I have to eventually give up my phone number (which I have been using for many years) after making dozens of phone calls over a 3 month period trying to transfer my phone service from iTalkBB to Verizon without any kind of success. My family has been a loyal customer of iTalkBB since the beginning. My dad works overseas for long periods of time and iTalkBB made it easy for my mom and I to get in touch with him and let him be a part of my childhood as much as possible when he wasn't able to physically be with us. Their TV services have also provided a way of family bonding and gives my parents a taste of their hometown and allows them to be in the loop with their friends and family in China as well as American Chinese who are stateside and also follow iTalk TV programs. read more

I have used italkbb for more than 10 years. Due to technology advancement, we simply replace it with a cell phone line. Cancellation process is really a pain. I called them five times before I could reach the special cancelation department. Of course, we have to pay and get the 10-year-old equipment shipped back without a tracking number. They will charge you $70 for that. I hope they could be nicer with a customer of more than 10 years. read more

The Worst Customer Service EVER I wanted to cancel my ItalkBB T.V. program so I decided to call their phone number. After minutes of waiting, I finally got to talk to someone from their customer service. She told me to wait on the line, so I followed the given instructions. And someone else picked up. I told him my situation and he said they were too busy at the moment. I understand that some companies are busy, so I told him I would call back in 30 minutes. This process repeatedly happened three times. I'm done with this company's customer service. I don't have all the time in the world to wait. I know how they can be busy, but I also know they just don't want to talk to someone who is going to cancel their program. I'm frustrated and disappointed this company, and I guess the only option I have is to cancel my credit card. Personally, I think this kind of behaviour is dishonesty and not respecting consumers. Honestly one of the worst companies ever. The customer service is very poor and you will definitely have a hard time communicating with them since their supposed "English speaking" agents suck at English. I returned my equipment during the trial period and they still have not provided the proper refund for the services I was charged for. They're claiming it is correct but they overcharged me in the first place when I signed up so I will definitely be pursuing this with my credit card company. If less than Zero rating were possible, I would give such a rating! This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I used their iTalkBB TV box so that my mother could watch Chinese programs. First, I had to pay $49.99/year for Renting the box, in addition to $10/mo for the phone service. I told them that I don't need the phone service, only the TV box for Chinese programs, then I was told that I would pay $15/mo if I don't use their phone service! Blood suckers! I had to keep the phone service even though the phone service has never been used. Fast forward, at the first day of the second year, I was charged another $49.99 for renting the TV box for the whole year. Within one month, I needed to cancel the TV service, since my mother had left for travel. I was told, not only do I need to pay another month of phone service which has never been used, but I won't get any refund of the $49.99 charge for the whole year, even though, I had only used it for less than a month. Additionally, I need to return the box to them within 15 days, or I'll be charged $75! This company is all about finding ways to charge you more fees, rather than providing good customer service, and a good customer experience. I will never, ever, do business with this company again, nor will I ever recommend this company to anyone I know. read more

It was by far the worst cancellation processes anyone can endured. lets put thing into perspectives : To cancel the account 1. call their 1-8xxx number ( just to keep in mind, there are couple 1-8xxx numbers, good luck if you get to talk to correct department on your first attempt , it take me three times to get through to someone from the right department ) 2. talk to the agent, they demands information like your phone number, the account holder name, the residential address, the credit card number ( that seems pretty standard processes right ? but wait.... 3. the agent notice i wasn't calling using one of my contact number they had in their record and she go ahead and ask me to call back using the contact number which the system recognized. 4. back to square one, i managed to catch a deep breath and repeat step 1 again. I regretted this was hasting purchased decision i had made before doing further research on the product. They have hidden fees and conditions, beaware when you join. Their paid TV still have lots of ads, everytime you switch a channel, it plays a long ads. If you stop at the end of an episode of a TV show, it plays ads when you come back and another ads when you start the next episode. Ads volume is a lot higher than the TV programs. very annoying. And this is the paid service, not the free one. When they say $0 monthly fee, they actually charge you annual fee. Italkbb's staff are very enthusiastic. I have used their landline and TV for 5 years,and I can talk to my family members in China every day especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. Once my TV box wasn't working and unable to play anything. I called the customer service and they helped me replace it for free right away without paying any service fees.
