Exploring the streets of Lisbon at night while looking for dinner, I found this place packed at nearly 9pm in the maze of narrow mountainous cobblestone streets. The warm and friendly waitstaff let me in for a table of one, and I felt immediately enveloped by the Portuguese ability to effortlessly combine modern contemporary and colonial era aesthetic and design, in a uniquely Iberian way. The restaurants atmosphere is amazing. It is obvious that the space is very old and in an old building, with low archways, ceilings, and narrow walkways that were opened up to make room for a restaurant floor. It would take too many words to describe the cool of this place, so I recommend you check out the photos. Onto the food. I started with a salad and then, ordered one of the burgers. Every ingredient was absolutely fresh and flavourful. Presentation on the plate was awesome. The burger was topped with a slice of cheese, a freshly grilled tomato third, and a leaf of basil. The flavour from the burger itself was fantastic, and it was melt in your mouth succulent medium rare with the right amount of flavour. Not too juicy and overwhelming, but a solidly flavourful burger. The risotto was creamy, textured, and had a great fresh herb taste. I also had limoncello, which was definitely the strong kind. This was a solid reward after searching for dinner for so long, and definitely a great way to end a night in the city. read more
