Luckily I got involved, found DT &T via another repair guy I knew that was out of the country. My father brought his computer to them...1 week later it was fixed! There was a little difficulty in the part, but they ensured they recovered the data, fixed the part and got him back and business in a week. Absolutely shady, he will do anything to get your business, but once you handover your device, you are in for a never ending wait. My first bad experience was somewhere in 2020. At that time I gave him the benefit of doubt. Recently I took my MacBook which had a blown motherboard, diagnosed by Apple authorized center. I just took it to him to see if my data can be restored. He said it may not be motherboard issues. It could also be battery issue. He tried to sell me another motherboard for around $360. Anyway I left the MacBook with him with the assurance of being called back in 1 hour. Of course I received the call, but he said the issue was with the motherboard and advised me to get the motherboard replaced. I refused and asked him to give me back my MacBook after putting the things back in. He started saying that he did not have time to put it back. Anyway after 5 hours I got it back, that too I had to personally go to his shop and wait there. He charged me $60 for diagnostics for something which Apple authorized center had already diagnosed. For what? For unscrewing and screwing back again. There was no mention of diagnosis charge when I handed the laptop. One of the worst I've ever experienced. I can't believe that Apple actually contracts them to work with their customers. The tech has no sense of customer service. He was very rude in the way that he greeted me, spoke to me and helped me. He had a bit of an attitude from the very start and it gave me the impression that he did not want to either work with me or he was frustrated and stressed out. I tried to overlook it, however by the time I was about to hand over my phone. I just couldn't give my money to a business who treats their customers in the manner of which I was treated. I really needed my phone battery to be changed as I am traveling tomorrow morning. However, given the treatment that I did, I much rather sacrifice and wait until I get back from my trip. I'm big on customer service and believe that when you treat your customer as well they return and make referrals. I definitely wouldn't recommend coming to the shop Apple authorized or not. I plan to give Apple a phone call and share my experience with them as well. And by the way, this wasn't my first encounter at the shop. I remember going there years ago to get my son's iPad fixed and after today, I was reminded why I left and took my business elsewhere.
