I reeeaaalllllyy wanted to give these guys a good review but after my experience here I can't recommend their service to anyone. After cracking my iPhone screen while on vacation in Carlsbad I brought it in to iSquad to get the screen replaced. I dropped it before going to the beach and picked it up 2 hours later with a seemingly perfect replacement screen. Later that day I started getting glitches in my screen where I would try to press an app and it would open one an inch lower on the screen. After that the entire keyboard totally spazzed out while trying to text - the screen was absolutely useless. I brought it in a couple days later and the guy working there (who was extremely friendly and helpful) put a new screen on. Even sooner than with the previous replacement screen I started having issues with the screen (literally within 30 minutes). The screen was not correctly calibrated and also had a weird bright spot in the bottom right portion of the screen. I ended up bringing it back and getting a cracked, official Apple screen put on so that I can now bring it in to the Apple Store to get it replaced. I was refunded my money but wasted several hours of my vacation here trying to get a quality screen. I don't question the integrity of this business one bit - the guy I interacted with was extremely friendly and gave me a refund without having to haggle. I just think the quality of the screens they use are just not good at all. For $30 more I would recommend bringing in your cracked screen to Apple and avoid any potential issues with iSquad. Their screens just aren't that good, unfortunately. UPDATE: Brought my phone into the Apple Store and for $140 got an absolutely perfect screen that has given me no trouble. Definitely worth the extra cost. read more

The guys working in this shop are really nice guys but unfortunately the product this business uses is absolutely terrible. This is far from quality iPad repair material. I recently got two iPads screens repaired within the last few months (one of them twice for a total of 3 repairs) and they have all broken. Here are my multiple issues: 1. The screen replacement material is EXTREMELY fragile. The first iPad I had repaired here cracked after I was pulling it out of the protective case. Yep, a little bit of pressure and the screen cracked. I took it back and told them it cracked when I was pulling it out of the case but they said "no, this happened from a drop". They pointed to a dent in the corner (that was there from the original break). There was no drop or anything so they were wrong here. So I had to pay again although they did offer to discount this 3rd repair by 50%. 2. The same iPad mentioned above got another pressure crack within 2 months. The same thing happened as before. Pulling it out of a protective case and the bottom of the screen cracked. 3. The "home button" on the repaired screen doesn't line up flush after a few days of use. This happened to all 3 repairs. I had to take mine back in because the home button stopped working from it "sinking" in below below the screen. They did repair this without charging me. I told them this happened to my wife's iPad as well and they told me bring it in, we will fix without charging as well. 4. I dropped one of the repaired iPads yesterday from about 2 feet off the ground (from a chair), it had a protective case on it. If this was a normal iPad glass it would not have broken but this one shattered and actually left chards of the material all over the protective case and the floor. The bottom line is the material they use to repair the iPads is poor quality. Just take your device to Apple so you can get quality parts. read more

He has an Iphone 6 and had shattered his front face glass (I had told him that his wooden case would be inevitable lol). Neither one of us having ever sought out iphone glass repair...we decided to go with iSquad. When we arrived, an older man was incredibly upset with the salesman, saying that their product was cheap and that he wanted his money back...despite our suddenly increased skepticism, we waited and decided to stick to our initial decision (I thought, come-on, they do have pretty good looking reviews right?? ...and they are local to Encinitas..a definite plus to us) Man, do I wish I was wrong and had RAN when I had heard that man ranting initially. THIS PLACE IS BEYONG DISAPPOINTING... So, please, if you are planning on getting your iphone glass replaced by iSquad...seriously consider our experience... as I would never write something so extensive if I did not know for certain that we were COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF. Just get this. First, They are friendly, convenient and quickly got the job "DONE". We paid $90.00, they provided us a "warranty slip" and we went on our way...totally satisfied! haha...NOT! THE SCREEN CRACKED THE VERY NEXT MORNING. We woke up, drove to get a coffee...and by the time we had gotten out of the car, the screen had cracked at the very top of the phone! It had literally not even been fixed for 24 hours. There is absolutely NO reason the glass should have cracked again! NONE! Later that day, we decided to go back to iJoke. Trusting in the warranty and ease of service we had received round one, we had anticipated round two would result in an immediate fixing of the product. HAHAH, nope. Instead, we are given the COMPLETE RUN AROUND...even with the salesman recognizing us from literally the day prior. Despite our protest, they said we could pay $60 and they would fix it for us. I couldn't even believe that. For $150, we could have gone to apple and had it actually taken care of. Normally, I am the first to support small business, but man was this place a waste of my time!!! I do not believe that ANYONE has actually had their product fixed by this "business"....and TRULY hope the owners read this and rethink the product they are choosing to stand behind (and literally ripe people off with) day to day If I haven't made it clear enough yet..DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! You should instead just set $90.00 on fire, then you will be in the same spot I am right now. read more

Majorly cracked my screen a day before I was leaving for vacation. Apple quoted $150 to fix the iPhone 5 screen. Looked on yelp and found these guys. Always happy to support local businesses when I can. They were able to fix it the same day and it only cost $100. Top notch service! Don't let the unassuming bungalow discourage you as it holds a smartphone repair shop. to those that continually drop and shatter their phones, this joint is manna and run by locals, in particular, there's Grant. Being local, you can go straight to the source and have your phone fixed in the same day - assuming all the parts are available. If not, the parts can be quickly ordered or delivered from one of their other shops in Santee or Miramar Road. Without Grant, you're stuck with processing your phone through the corporate insurance and bureaucracy and perhaps phoneless for a few days to a week and without guarantee of your own phone being returned to you. As you know, we're all sentimentally attached to our phones. I read the argument that the parts they use are cheap, and I admit that's probably true, but we're talking convenience here and you still have to pay for the work to be done. I don't see many people taking the time to DIY nowadays despite the many youtube videos and accessibility to order parts themselves. This is the solution. These guys fixed my screen a few times which via badluck happened a number of times in a recent stretch and replaced the underlying LCD. Thanks! read more

So my phone screen on my Samsung Galaxy 7 which I purchased in July 2016 goes black. Big panic attack! Verizon says "oh no, not worth repairing will cost you at least $200. Better off to buy a new phone for like $800. Plus, to add insult to injury they wanted to charge me $40.00 to upgrade. (Go figure they want me to pay them $40.00 so they can bill me $800.00 for a new phone, really!) I saw the great yelp reviews on ISquad and I called their Carlsbad store who very calmly told me all I needed was a new screen, cost $149.00 and it would have a lifetime warranty as long as I did not do something crazy like drop it off a building. Fixed my iPhone 6 that was just 2 weeks out of warranty. Everything worked but the sound when using the phone. Couldn't hear the person on the other end and they couldn't hear me. Bluetooth in my car also didn't work with the phone. Weird. He took my phone apart and everything looked fine. There was no sand or water damage. He cleaned off some parts and put it back together and it works now. I can actually use my phone as a phone. He was very polite and knowledgeable and I'm super happy that I didn't have to buy a new phone or pay for expensive repairs. It was my lucky day. I walked right in with no wait, but while I was there, 3 other people walked up needing repairs. Not sure if they take appointments, but maybe worth checking out if you are in a rush. Needed a new charger port for my iphone, Mark was super friendly and helpful. Price was good, turnaround time was good, and his information seemed helpful. But what do I know about iPhone repair, right? Final product did not charge well overnight and multiple new issues developed, but maybe this is what happens when you try to fix one small piece of an intricate device. Decided to cut my losses and take it to the large corporation. At the Apple store (5 hour investment of time), I saw the internal pictures: two screws completely missing! Maybe Mark couldn't fit what he had on hand into the phone, and did his best, and I can appreciate that, but end result was a fail. Apple recommends replacing whole pieces (in this case the whole screen) to avoid associated injury from small repairs, which is exactly what happened. They open Pandora's box. But it was worth the attempt. I'm short 65 bucks, but I wanted a quick fix and iSquad offered one. Two screws missing? What's up with that? Did Apple lie? Did Mark rig the repair and hope for the best? Who knows. By the way, it would have been nice to get a receipt from Mark. Didn't happen. Who's watching the register over there? read more
