The staff member was extremely nice and even through in a confetti bottle cause it was my husbands birthday. They did let me know they didn't have any windshields (I paid for a windshield) but instead offered 3 circle glass things which was fine with me. My message was written on them instead. I did the bring your own box and we smashed the glass within 6 minutes. The Bluetooth speaker was nice. We would deff go back. Got some anger out for sure. read more

I'd had a ~DAY~ and found myself with an extra hour in the evening so I decided to get my rage room on because I'd been wanting to try this place out forever. I saw on their website that they had a promotion for 50% off on Tuesdays. Tried calling to confirm the price and to make sure I could walk in without booking first but got the voicemail so decided to take a chance and take the drive. The center is located inside of the Westvale Plaza. When I approached, there was a note on the door that they'd be back in 10 minutes, however the staff pulled up about a minute later so all good. Even if waiting was necessary, it wouldn't have been the biggest deal. They seem pretty slow on the weekdays and they operate more on a book-ahead model, so totally understandable. Good to know that it's probably a better bet to book online first! The staff was polite and helpful. I asked about the 50% but she said that was only if you booked ahead. I was willing to pay full price anyway. (Spoiler alert- when I got home and looked at my bank statement they charged me half price anyway, score! What a sweet surprise.) Setup was super efficient. I filled out a waiver and then headed into a getting ready area to watch a quick safety video and gear up. The system was really smooth and streamlined. While I was waiting for the staff to get my room ready, I started talking to another team member, who actually turned out to be one of the owners. She was super friendly and you can tell that she really cares about her business. She shared with me that she decided to start a rage room after facing a difficult time in her life and finding the practice therapeutic. She also mentioned that Smash already existed in Rochester and she decided to team up with them and open a Syracuse location instead of competing, which is pretty cool. Now, onto the actual experience. I went solo and got a starter box, which came with a bunch of dishes and bottles, a phone, and a printer. The room had a file cabinet for my personal items and a bluetooth speaker to play music. I blasted some Linkin Park, which worked perfectly for smashing music. Pro tip- come with an angry playlist ready so that you don't have to listen to YouTube ads. The smashing itself was heavenly. The starter box comes with 20 minutes. I thought that might be too much time since I was alone, but it was actually perfect. The plates and bottles broke instantly, but the electronics took a beating. I did feel a little strange and guilty causing so much wanton destruction, but it was also super satisfying to break a bunch of stuff without worrying about the consequences. There was a variety of weapons to use, including various size bats, crowbars, pipes, and a sledgehammer. Did I try all of them? Yes, I tried all of them. Did I have a favorite? Maybe. Super fun to test out how different materials broke with different weapons. I felt like a hooligan and loved every minute of it. This place would be fun to come with other people, but it was also a hoot to come alone. Such a unique way to blow off steam and decompress from work stress after a super tense day. Be aware though, this is a WORKOUT. I was sweating and panting by the end, and wish I'd brought some water with me. I was also glad for the disposable gloves under my work gloves because my hands were dripping by the end. Felt a little shaky driving home, so maybe not a bad idea to go with a DD- destruction driver! :D Honestly, this was so much fun and put me in a good mood for the rest of the evening. What a great way to take out my tension. Highly recommend giving them a try. This was for sure a "gotta try it once" experience, but I would for sure come back. Nice staff, good value for the money. Also, seriously, when else are you going to be able to womp on a printer with a crowbar without getting alarmed looks? C'mon, live a little. read more

It was my friends and I first time at this place. We enjoyed the time together and both smash room and paint room. We let out so much anger, stress, & laughs. We would love to go here again. We just wished we got more electronics to smash or bigger ones, now looking back that's a different package. Also the staff is very nice, friendly & helpful. read more

Had my kid's double birthday at iSmash- paint splatter party. We had 17 kids in total. The painting was so much fun for the kids. The employee clearly does not like kids. I understand not everyone is a kid person, but this person was rude and very impatient with these kids whose ages ranged from turning 4 to 10. Even other party guest's parents made comments to me about the employee's demeanor. The confirmation emails said food/cake would be done before the paint room. Which is perfect. I told all the parents this and said send the kids hungry! The kids all stood around in the lobby for 30 min while the employee got everything set up, got them their gear and had them watch the safety video. This really cut into the overall Party time. Then we were very rushed to get all the kids cleaned up, eat their pizza and serve cake. Thankfully there was no party after us, but I felt bad rushing these kids along. I might be willing to go to a paint room with just myself and kids, but I wouldn't have another party here. For now I'm still turned off by how the kids were spoken to. I wanted to add an update to my review. The owner, Steven, reached out to me to discuss my concerns and offer an apology. This speaks volumes to his business model and I really appreciate that he doesn't only acknowledge the 5 star reviews. I felt he really listened to my concerns and truly wants all clients to be fully satisfied with their experience. read more

I was so excited to bring my friends to Ismash Syracuse. It would have been all of our first times. I was pumped, it's walking distance from my house- great location. I called well before to schedule a time to go (because I had Groupons- I had to and couldn't do it online). Got on the phone with Sean- who was very rude and had absolutely no solutions to not responding to voicemail. He had no room for tonight (ok fine- I get that I can't always get what I want). He said about 4 times, that I should have called ahead (I did and didn't get a response), then lectured me on how busy they were and why, and that it's important to not call the day of- ok I get that now. After that, he just directired me back to the online booking (that I can't use because I have a Groupon) and didn't have any kind of solution as to a different day, time, way, etc. Bad Business. I have returned my groupons and will not be going to iSmash Syracuse anytime soon. read more
