We enjoyed our time here, but be aware that if you book a group of more than two people, you will still only get one lane to throw. We had a group of three, and one of us had to sit out while the other two threw, which was annoying since all three of us paid to throw. If you book two people, and then a single, you will get two lanes. The targets were great and the axes, knives and stars stuck quite well. Far shot in Syracuse NY is a Fun place for some unique activity. We had Ray as our coach and he's the best. So, what is it? Axe, knife, and star throwing along with archery target shooting. Prices vary for time allotment and individual or selection play. For two people at 1 an hour and a half to two hours ; all these activities were a comfortable amount to get a taste and a touch of learning experience. They have a Bar for drinks! Suggestion of soda or water before and perhaps a touch of something after. It's a byo food place . Our suggestion, a few blocks down, stop into Kofta for a burger check out that awesome sign on the wall for a photo shot , have a tasty strawberry salad and top it off down a few blocks to The Ice-cream Spot where you will meet the charming Amanda. It's on the corner , with delicious soda Floats , across from the Historic trail a small spraying fountain of water With places to sit and views to take in. Worth making a day of it visiting down town Syracuse. P.S. Tip here when calling for reservations to Far Shot its a 3rd party off shore agency that takes your reservation with a 10 dollar hold fee- keep a copy of transactions and address, making sure of the scheduled location as there are different areas of Far Shot places. read more

My husband and I went last night to Far shot. The new location is awesome, now is on downtown Syracuse and the vibe and interiors of the place are more welcoming. We did the bundle axe and archery for 60 min. Ali was our coach she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Axe throwing seems to be all the rage lately. You'll see that several spots have opened within the last couple years, and Far Shot is one of the newest. Far Shot has been around in Canada for a while, and the new Syracuse location is the first Far Shot in America. What sets Far Shot apart from the others is not only do they offer axe throwing, but also knife and star throwing and archery. Located on the 5th floor of the very large red warehouse on the corner of Geddes and Fayette right in the city, Far Shot has a large location perfect for groups. I recently checked out Far Shot for the second time after I initially got to check it out at a Yelp event, and again did a little bit of everything. Very fun, I especially enjoy the Axe throwing. The coaches are all very friendly and personable and seem to enjoy coaching people and seeing the joy customers get when they finally land a shot. Prices ALMOST seem expensive, as they charge per person by the hour, BUT when you actually get in there and realize how many times you'll actually throw in an hour, it's definitely worth it.  I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different to do, and will be going back again myself. read more

What a wonderful and fun experience!! Staff were so friendly and helpful. They would show you how first with some tips and tricks and then give you a crack at it. then gently tweak you so you could nail that hopefully perfect shot. I will definitely be returning I had so much fun. read more

Decided to try this place out for a date night the other night and I was not disappointed. It is a little hard to find so you may have to call for directions but I had such a blast doing the axe throwing and archery. Our instructor was a really cool guy, super helpful and made the experience that much better. We had purchased a Groupon for a group of 8-10 people at a private lane. None of us had done axe throwing before and we had a blast! Every single person had a fun time. We had a great instructor that gave each individual pointers on how to better your throw. This place is BYOB which our group loved so we brought our own drinks and snacks. Keep in mind that you have to wear closed toe shoes. We will definitely be returning! read more
