My family has held annual golf tournaments here as a memorial for my grandmother for the last 11 years. Before she passed her favorite course to attend was Vesper Hills, that was before new ownership came in. If she was alive today her opinion of the course would be vastly different. The biggest problem belongs to the ranger (which owners and managers have done nothing about). During our last tournament he followed and watched a group of people for 3 straight holes until one of them confronted him. It was this time the ranger immediately started belittling them and their skill level. Later that day the ranger would go on to yell and continually demean a group of golfers that was composed of an adult and three 14 year old girls who have very little playing experience. He would complain about the pace of play and that the young girls were exceeding the bogie per hole limit. In response the adult showed the ranger the card to assure they were following the rules. The ranger proceeded to call them liars, cheaters, and that the group behind them was complaining about the pace they were playing. My group was behind them and we did not once complain about their pace and in fact they were always a hole ahead. The ranger did this to other groups in the tournament. The bartender was incredibly rude and we waited for drinks throughout the day. Despite the owner being aware that the tournament had slightly over 50 golfers they only put enough carts out for 30. Among numerous other complaints when the owner was confronted by a number of players. He would never admit to their faults, extremely rude, very unprofessional, and would often verbally attack the people who complained. read more
