Such a cute little mini golf course. The grounds are very well maintained and the whole venue has a whimsical fantasy vibe-fairies meet the Shire-a nice little escape for an afternoon. Old school mini golf course meets a little modern day fun. The late hours (open until midnight all days) are wonderful in the summer. There is a small icecream stand with soft serve, pop sicles, and milk shakes. Prices for icecream and golf are both standard for today. The staff was very friendly and allowed me to try to "flavor burst" flavors when i couldn't decide. My group had a great time and wojld certainly go back. read more

What a fun hour! They've recently repaired a lot of the greens, so the entire course is in excellent condition. They did make some changes to the hazards too. The best part of the course is the stream that runs directly through the middle of everything, lending a happy burbling sound to the adventure. We showed up early on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, but we didn't have to wait to play for more than a few minutes. read more

Definitely a fun little course, I appreciate their late hours, especially in the summer! The staff wasn't the friendliest, but I can't blame him, I wouldn't be super friendly on a slow, late Sunday night. The course and obstacles are largely made of concrete and get a little repetitive after a few holes. We found ourselves sandwiched in between a slow playing larger group in front of us and a fast playing couple behind us which was a bit awkward and made the experience kind of feel rushed. I wish they had a better selection of ice cream instead of the slushies; I would have loved to get ice cream afterwards. Finally please be careful going up and down the stairs to get to the course. They're all different sizes and slopes, and they're incredibly steep. I'm not a rat but I'm shocked no one in codes has ever mentioned it to them; it's seriously a liability. Best mini golf in the area. All the holes have something unique, a strategy needed, an obstacle besides standard rocks in the way. The rocks here are carved into large obstacles. I love that it's on a natural waterway with the sound of bubbling water and not the fake blue fountains. There are benches to take a break and let others pass. Only bad thing is it starts with a long set of uneven stairs, so it's not handicap or elderly accessible. Otherwise, great place. Currently $9 a round or $13.50 for 2 hours. read more

In 1938, Joseph and Robert Taylor from Binghamton, New York started building and operating their own miniature golf courses. These courses differed from the ones of earlier years; they were no longer just rolls, banks, and curves, with an occasional pipe thrown in. Their courses not only had landscaping, but also obstacles, including windmills, castles, and wishing wells. In 1947, Fairmount Glens original course was built on what is now West Genessee High School, now owned by a former employee, Tom Ness. Fairmount Glen is a Syracuse staple. If you've lived here any amount of time, you've probably gone down and hit some balls around. The course is plenty big with many different holes of varying degrees of difficulty, making it enough to easily kill an hour of time for a couple or group. The grounds are immaculately kept and always clean. Employees are so so, as they're usually just high school kids working a summer job who don't really care to be there. Prices are more than fair and there's also some food and snacks for convenience. My only issues with Fairmount Glen are two things...one, the stairs to get down to the course are a bit daunting. They're slanted and steep and can definitely feel a bit dangerous. The other being that it's usually pretty busy, which can make it a bit annoying while playing. If you have more than 2 people in your party, you definitely end up feeling rushed through each hole, cause there's always a group waiting right behind you to play. Overall, cheap, fun thing to do that doesn't involve much planning if you're ever bored. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a date back in September around 3pm. It was very empty, with only two other pairs of people besides us so definitely a lot of space for social distancing. It's a very cute place, with a stream running through the middle, with lots of plants and trees. I loved how it was really quiet and peaceful, and allowed for my boyfriend and I to talk and have fun without being interrupted. Definitely recommend bringing a date here. read more

this is one of the nicer mini-golf places that I have ever been to. First, you have a pleasant natural setting. It is built in a hollow with a stream running through it. You can hardly notice that you are just below a major intersection. Second, the holes are challenging, creative and most of all fun. Though the course is located in West Genessee's business district, its unique topography helps you feel away from it all. Fairmount Glen is "a hole-in-one-fest." Which is to say that it's the least challenging course in the area. And honestly, that only adds to its charm. Fairmount Glen is the BEST place in CNY for mini golf. Big Dons in a close second but if you want fun holes, natural water beds, and tons to do nearby, you want to go here! Careful on the stairs though, they are the biggest obstacle on the entire course! read more

ok so this is the best minigolf course in central new york. fairmount glen was built sometime in the 1930's at the bottom of a gorge and it has to be one of the most visually appealing places in the cuse area. try to go on a weekday or during the mornings as it's much more enjoyable with less people (in my opinion). the stream provides a really chill and passive ambiance too. while this place claims to be the nation's second oldest mini golf course, you will not find too many crazy holes here, but it's enough to make a game (or two) a lot of fun. don't waste your time at other mini golf courses until you have at least gone here first. this is also the only mini golf course that i know of that's open until midnight. read more
