Came here after my daughter received a new belt from jiu jitsu to celebrate. Service was quick, our food came out promptly and we enjoyed the festive decor.

It's been quite some time since visiting an Island Restaurant. I use to go frequently during my college days. Needless to say, the menu has changed. Gone are the days of endless fries with your burger. I am definitely a fan of the new additions to the menu. Upon walking in, there was a sign for new bowls currently $10. I decided to order the Hawaiian one and it was delicious plus a great deal. Service was awesome. We got there in the middle of happy hour and it started getting really busy. Absolutely packed when we rolled out around 7pm on a Friday. Islands is still a popular place! I miss unlimited fries, but refill is $1.89. Not bad.

Hawaiian Burger/ great service . Burger was big and juicy. Nice one!

My Hawaiian Cheeseburger was big, juicy, and delicious. It was served with fresh grilled pineapple, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, Onion, mayo, and Teriyaki sauce. This monster definitely hit the hunger spot. A big sloppy mess to eat, but a great sloppy mess. Juices dripped all over my hands mouth, and plate while trying to handle this special Hawaiian. I had to go directly to the rest room to wash up after I finished eating. Service was great on my visit. The unlimited lemonade refills quenched my thirst. Overall I enjoyed my visit. The only down side was I wasn't a fan of the French fries. Overcooked and too crunchy.

Clean sports bar restaurant full of Island vibes. Kids' amenities are great. Booster didn't take up much space in the booth and was perfect. Kilauea or Jalapeño burger was good. Wish there was more sauce to make the flavors blend throughout the burger. I want to add those fried onions to other burgers too. Malibu burger was also good with the smoked hickory bacon. Fries are plenty. I wish we ordered one burger and maybe a salad to share. Kids had some fries after a quick lunch at home and we still didn't finish our burgers as the portions were generous! I think the fries are good. Feels fresh but feel better than in-N-out burger (I now know I should always ask for well done there). Mocha cookie ice cream cake was fun! It is always common with ice cream cake was it is a bit hard to eat and there is no way to take down leftovers home but it was good! Loved the passionfruit fresh tea. Not sure if the fruity flavor was enough for me to enjoy the flavors but it was still a refreshing taste with no sugar. Waitress was attentive throughout the meals. Parking is so easy as it is surrounded by other restaurants and store in the area with plenty of parking. Bathrooms were not so kid friendly. Wish they had a stool.

Have always been a fan of islands and this time did not disappoint! They have amazing happy hour deals but I didn't get that this time. I tried their blue cheese burger and it surprised me. It's not too heavy on the blue cheese and just enough funk to keep it interesting. I love how they beer flights to try their amazing selection. Their fries have amazing seasoning on them and just keep you munching. Service is always great they may be busy but they make sure you are taken care of. Ambiance is beautiful they have surfer decorations and surf videos playing in the tvs at all time. Great spot for a quick lunch!

The service was good but the food was blah. Chips and salsa (cold and stale). Chicken Cesar salad...blah. Three slivers of chicken and a plate full of croutons. Had to order extra chicken. I didn't know you could mess up a Cesar salad. I was super hungry after intermittent fasting and am SO DISAPPOINTED!!! . This was a waste of a meal.

The Service: Didn't feel the welcoming customer service. The host & server had straight face. Service was not very attentive. The store was definitely well maintained. The Food: We tried their burgers. The patties were a little bit bland. The fries were a little bit cold. The price is reasonable for the portion. The Parking: Private parking lot

Abner was very attentive and helpful server, restaurant was clean but very busy for a Sunday night. Only waited about 15 mins. Had a party of 5. Food was well prepared and tasted good.

( 3.5 Stars ) OK time I had here at Islands. Upon entering, we were greeted with friendly staff who helped us find a seat extremely quick, which was a good first impression of the restaurant. Although the first interaction was good, when we sat down, our table was a little dirty, with specs of something that looked like dust all over the table and menus. It was a little nasty but we brushed it off with napkins, so it was not much of a hassle. Our waitress was very nice and attentive throughout the duration of our time here at Islands. She was extremely helpful the entire time, bringing more dressing when requested and drink refills unrequested. For my food, I ordered the China Coast salad. At first taste and glance, it was very bland and plain. It had no taste. The first cup of dressing that was provided with the meal gave it a little bit of flavor, but not much; You really need a second cup of dressing for it to get flavor. With the dressing on it, it was alright. I'm a big fan of China and Asian salads but this salad did not seem like everything worked together. The individual toppings did not work well with each other and tasted strange, but it tasted okay after the dressing was added. Inside the restaurant is nice, lots of tables and TVs for people to watch. The only downside I had with the inside was the cleanliness of our table.

We were a party of 6 and a large booth lent room for all of us. Wait staff brought beverages, menus and stated the specials. After placing our orders, from kitchen to table was a very reasonable time of 5 to 10 minutes. Food was served in large ceramic baskets lined with food service paper. The paper in the baskets gave it an old fashioned kind of vibe. The basket of fries was hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the Hula Burger that was topped with two generous pineapple rings and teriyaki sauce that made the burger pop! A pal ordered a Cobb Salad with bacon bits on the side and Balsamic vinegar dressing, hold the Blue Cheese please. Another guest ordered the grilled cheese, toasted and real cheddar cheese! It came with a side of fries. Ample room for customers but not great for larger parties. I only noticed booths that can handle 6 guests comfortably. Large screen TV's to catch the game! There is a full service bar that carries a selection of Domestic and Imported beers both in bottles and on tap. There was also an array of spirits including wine and mixed drinks. This location is in the Manhattan Beach Mall on the outside of the mall with access to the mall through a side entrance. Good for walking off all those delicious calories! Wait staff were friendly and attentive!

    Spinach & Artichoke Dip

I used to come here all the time with my mommy friends and our young kiddos many years ago. Now that our kids are older and it's harder to get together, we haven't been able to come to Islands. I remember how much I loved their chicken tortilla soup so my teenage daughter and I came during her winter break to check it out for old times sake. We were seated right away and at noon, the restaurant was fairly empty. We initially wanted to order a tortilla soup and a burger but ended up adding truffle fries and spinach artichoke dip. They did not disappoint! We took a lot of our food home because the portions are small here. Although I remember there being more chicken in the tortilla soup, it was still delicious! My daughter loved her Malibu burger and truffle fries. I think we inspired the man next to us to get the spinach and artichoke dip. We'll be coming back more frequently! Forgot how good this place is!

Waiters kept checking on us. Got the mild Buffalo Wings for $14 and Parmesan Fries for $6. The wings were good. The Parmesan Fries were really good, they didn't skimped on the Parmesan. The interior is neat and clean. There are various types of seating (bar; table; booth; high-tops; communal), and plenty of screens to watch sports. On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

We'd been to R&B last year and enjoyed it so much we agreed to meet there again. The parking lots was packed but surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very crowded and we didn't have to wait at all. After skimming over the menu, I decided to try the chicken pot pie. Our server said it was a fairly new item and it was delicious. I took her at her word and was extremely happy with my selection. The crust was very unique in that it looked more like a fruit pie rather than a pot pie. I'm pleased to report the crust was delightfully flaky and buttery. It enveloped a generous portion of shredded rather than diced chicken and the blend of fillings hit the spot. My wife had the tuna nachos which were also wonderful but a bit lacking in portion size. Not being in the mood for alcohol, I ordered one of their "dirty" sodas which tasted very much like an orange 50/50 ice cream bar. The server was very sweet and extremely helpful. If the restaurant was a little closer to home, we'd probably frequent it more often but it definitely is a great choice if you happen to be in the south Torrance/Redondo Beach area. The experience as a whole was excellent. I wouldn't change anything about it.

Waited a good 15 minutes before someone attended to us. The person that attended to us was the bartender. Realizing he is playing host, bartender and waiter. He handed us a menu and stated he will be back to take our orders. Another 15 minutes goes by and we finally order adult beverages. 10 minutes goes by which he delivered our drinks. I received my Michelob ultra which was like a cold slushy! I said perfect! Thats the way I like my drink. Super cold and icey. We ordered on the spot. Another 15 minutes goes by. Recieved our food. Wings, zucchini, hamburgers and tater tots. I have got to say.. the food here is exceptionally delicious! No complaints on the food. All was satisfying. The place has a ambiance like a tavern. Dark and cozy. Parking is a hit and miss. We came in a good time. Parking may be difficult on peak hours. If you use Google maps.. be aware, sometimes Google maps is retarded. As a first timer, Google maps got us driving around and around. Just remember that the bar is on Sepulveda and parking is in the back. Alittle frustrated. Lol Overall it was a good experience. They can work on their staffing for lunch hour. Maybe add one waitress to cover lunch time.

I believe that Holiday's matter, not as days that drive chocolate and flower sales, but as…read morereminders that whimsy should be celebrated to make life a bit more colorful and joyous. Scrooge might say "Bah! Humbug!" to festivities but, in other hand, say "hab gubmuh" to the days and seasons that bring mirth, hanging streamers and disco balls into our life, lest these be left in grayscale. That is why I was attracted to this bar because I wanted to know be drenched in red and pink glamour while all the way celebrating that very special feeling of love. As, soon I entered the door and saw the exaggerated decorations on the roof and on the walls, my immediate thought was "fun," not corny, or please with these hanging hearts and neon lights. Thus this place owns the trip to love land without apology, and I for one, say that this means that the festive goal hoped for hit heart center. I also went relatively early, in terms of bar crowd hours, and was surprised that the place was full to its arteries. Truth be told, that is why, I ticked one star of my overall rating because this place is cute and a vibe, and a worthy scene, but it is also small and packed to the point where folks are proverbial sardines in a tin can. But more on that later, right now, we start with what gave me anchor in place: their pool table. There is no place to sit, amidst the crowd, I automatically assessed. Where can I be to find my place? So I went to the table and played pool. I appreciated that the place had clearly articulated rules and procedures for play, which removed ambiguity and created a climate of respect toward the game, which allows for pool games where appropriate and competitive game play reigns. I managed to order a drink on theme for the night: a Misty Kiss. It was the bartender's suggestion, after I asked for their sweetest cocktail. When she first suggested it, I thought she said minty kiss, and thus when she delivered the drink, I was expecting some kind of shamrock shade. But then I heard the appropriate pronunciation- misty, not minty. I wondered when a literal misty kiss would be appropriate and beautiful? Then I remember scanning a picture book of love pictures, and one was of a woman saying goodbye to her sailor as he shipped of to fight in a world war, and I realized that the sadness in her eyes as she said goodbye was a form of a misty kiss. I took my Misty Kiss and played a game of pool with a guy named Matt. He revealed that he played every day, which explained why I did not stand a chance against a daily player, balance in talent simply did not exist. It was hard to find a spot to place my drink, which tasted swell, and was on brand for the evening, and quite stiff! It was hard to find a seat or a spot for me to call my own. And it was for others as well. I saw people going to the bathroom and needing to allocate themselves in near hunches to avoid the sticks of pool. And out in the crowd, people were huddled on the floor, not sure where to be so they could feel like they had a space of their own and did not bump with others. But there was no way to avoid bumping into others, and it was a mission to find a spot. That is why when I saw a table for two open up, I did a mad dash to an empty chair, like a fool in love who rushes in. It is at the chair where I could not only see but stop and admire the paper roses of the place. As my pictures show, the place truly did not limit itself from embracing the spirit of Valentine's day. For instance, they had this wall of decorations, with hearts, orbs (white, red, pink) teddy bears, and so much more; it was a tapestry hung just right for the occasion. Of course, people wanted to use the wall as the backdrop but with so many people, this too, required a wait and navigate plan. I did help some folks out by taking their pictures. I was not Cupid but in these moments I did hope that my aim was true. In the final analysis, I immensely appreciated the decorations, and all of the folks who dressed for the occasion, because it gave texture and meaning to the decor. But the tight quarters limited the love I can give to this place. However, I do know now where to go, where I want a themed drink, and environment to boot.

Cupid aka Courtney was shooting arrows and slinging shots behind the bar with style and serving up some love with this months "Cupids Cocktails" menu. All the locals could be found in for a session. They once again out did themselves with the cutest decor. My one suggestion would be to get the jukebox playing all the love songs (from power ballads to cheesy fun sing along ones) to nail the vibe. They've got a pool table to shoot your own shots too! Parking can be rough but do yourself a favor and everyone else and Uber. Loving all the holidays here! great job Paddy O's and staff!
