Dam good fish taco (ono)loaded with black beans 4 cheeses, sour cream, lettuce, nice heaping of fish & about 50 different hot sauces well worth the $6. Nice lady running the stand deserves the tips.

The best vegetarian vegan organic non-GMO taco on island!

Island tacos Heading out to the north, shore do not miss island tacos. By far the best tacos on island! Being a vegetarian I am very particular about my foods, this taco stand is superb. Huge portions, fresh veggies, top shelve ingredients, a very large selection hot sauces. The owner is also a farmer & grows many of the vegetables. Busy all the time. Happy all the Time :) grateful to have this place on island.

This was 2017. At $6. Now they're bigger and $9. Also Thai foods are served. Thai tea too!!!

Love this place. My go to place for a filling meal. It's Outdoors. Table seating. Fast, easy. Reasonable and best of all GOOD!! Fish, Chicken & Pork, or Even Veggie. Flour or Corn tortillas heated up on the Comal while you Choose your add ons and pick your heat from a very large assortment of bottled taco sauces. Add ins include black beans, sliced green cabbage, cilantro, cheese, sliced pickled jalapeños, Red salsa, Sour cream and olives. and They also serve a wide variety of sodas and drinks even bottled Mexican Sodas and cokes and really good homemade Thai Iced Tea. $6 a taco. Reasonable for haiku Maui.

Best tacos I've tried on the island and I love tacos! The lady cooking em up was friendly and very generous with the portions. The fish was fresh and the fixins were piled high. The 6 inch long slices of avocado on top were just an added bonus. This is a taco stand in a parking lot. Not fancy but delicious. Go here.

You can just feel it--and yes, confirmed: actual Mexican folks running the place, so you already know the food isn't playing around. Everything was insanely tasty and felt super authentic. Like the kind of tacos that make you pause mid-bite and rethink every other taco you've had before. Bonus points for the sauce bar--lowkey my favorite part. Nothing like standing there debating life decisions while trying every salsa like you're on a flavor quest. Easy 5 stars. I'd come back again and again... and probably embarrass myself at the sauce bar every single time. Service took a little while because there's only one guy cooking but it was well worth the wait.

The car rental company receptionist recommended this area of food trucks to check out since it was close by. It was about a 15 minute drive to the food trucks. Our friends said they've tried Ono Tacos before in Lahaina. They said that the tacos they had were good! I was in the mood for tacos so I ordered one Al Pastor "Pork" taco and the Shredded Beef Birria tacos. They were both very tasty and I would say "on par" with tacos I've had on the mainland! I would go back again the next time I'm in Maui.

They have a restaurant near my house in Kihei and this food truck near my workplace. The ladies at the food truck are always so friendly and I always call in my order before I pick it up since the truck can be real hot to wait at. I got the Al Pastor Taco plate that includes Rice, Pinto Beans with cheese and 2 Tacos with chopped cilantro, onion and a side of fresh green salsa. The salsa has a bit of heat so if you like that extra kick! I also got a Medium Horchata. Very refreshing and perfect drink to balance the heat of the salsa. I ended up paying $20 for both. I wish it was a bit more affordable but considering high cost of living and Maui prices, that's definitely the norm. I usually treat myself maybe a few months at a time. A nice taco spot if you want a good authentic meal with a smile.

Asada, carnitas, al pastor, chicken, mahi mahi, and much more make up an enticing and reasonably priced menu, with options including tacos, burritos, soups, tostadas, nachos, tortas, enchiladas, quesadillas, and so on. A nice selection of sodas, aguas frescas, and juices will complement your meal; there's horchata as well, my favorite. I got 2 tacos, one with carne asada and one with mahi mahi, and a medium horchata. The fish was flaky, tender, and delicate, with a chipotle sauce that wasn't overpowering. The asada had good flavor but seemed a bit dry; the super fresh diced onions, cilantro, and added spicy salsa verde on top made up for the dryness. The tortillas were tasty and held up to the fillings nicely without being tough or too thick. The sweetness of the horchata was a lovely contrast to the tacos.

We hit up Paia right before our flight back to LAX. It's not very far from the airport and I was bummed we hadn't been told to explore this area in addition to lounging out in Lahaina. There was a line formed even before the restaurant opened but things flowed pretty quickly. While waiting to order I'd pretty much convinced myself that I was going to be disappointed because the menu felt a bit basic. But boy was I wrong. The fish burgers are just absolutely exceptional. I got the snapper and my wife got the ahi. Both pieces of fish were cooked to perfection and were well sized. The bun was top notch and the coleslaw - a dish of which I am generally not a fan - was simply exceptional. At first I thought was a bit weird that they included cheese on the sandwich but that actually worked too! Go here for a no frills, reasonably priced, delicious AF meal if your travels take you into the area. Can't wait to go back on our next trip to Maui!

I'll still support the place, but to really love supporting them even more, I have some friendly recommendations. I love the char on the meat, the salsas are great and were given to me cold (great sign! As unbelievable as it may seem, this simple step is missed in a lot of places!), the beans and rice with the sasoun like abuela used to make- chef's kiss! and even better than Ono tacos in Kahului in my opinion, and their beans and rice are pretty fly). The pollo and asada, one day has more flavor than the next. Some days, no salt at all. So if you bring a guest, just pack some limes and salt just in case, so they'll believe you when you say this place is awesome. Problem solved. Additionally, the comment about the fatty inedible bits of steak- yes, I have experienced it also, that is an anomaly that the chef should be able to catch. That's not ok and will turn a lot of people off from the food, please quality control or let the butcher know so you guys are getting value. Sometimes I know those fatty cartridge chunks can contribute to flavor because of the oils, but that can be done in a separate process and removed before plating with that primo asada. First visit I loved the carne asada tacos. Quality is very hard to find here on Maui, and once you find it, consistency even harder, but I really like this place so I'm coming back and bringing more folks. The marinade and seasoning was on point that first time. The second time, the beans and rice had wayyy more flavor than the chicken and the steak, just being real. I look forward to trying more. I bring guests here and they say the same things. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food, and I know food can be hard work, just iron out your processes so they're firme every time, make sure everyone working follows the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and people will remember it for sure, the potential for even more greatness is definitely there, no one else is making tacos like this! just needs attention to detail. Also.. not to end on a bad note, but I've gotta say it- you -always- should provide or offer silverware to customers, and napkins. That's only proper form. The service and kindness of the young man taking orders is impeccable, he is kind and personable to people and you can tell he was raised with respect , has dignity and kindness for others. Well done! This is rare also and people notice. What a good bruddah! Thank you so much for your hard work and efforts. I live with constant pain. I don't always wanna cook, shop, marinate, and all the steps it takes to make an epic meal, unless I'm cooking for a lot of people I love. I can tell you're spreading the love with your food, I hope my honesty isn't harsh, I really want everyone to eat well and I want businesses to do amazingly. Gracias!

I found this place on line and when we drove over to it from our resort on Kaanapali, my husband pitched a fit because it was in a strip mall and he thought it was going to be terrible. We walked in and it was nicer than I thought it would be. He still wasn't convinced. We went back to the resort and went to one of the hotel restaurants on the beach, his idea of where we should be on our last night - despite the fact that we'd already had oceanfront dining at two other places and were ready to try something different. The rest of us didn't want to be there. My daughter got dress-coded for having a bathing suit top on at the beach (literally oceanfront, outdoors, and part of our resort). I get it, but it just added to the mood. The water they gave us tasted like it came out of a hose. The prices were dumb. We left. Everyone was mad at dad. And hangry. After going back to our room and looking at our options, we decided to go back to the first place (Sergio's) and just get takeout. I ordered a bunch of stuff, we picked it up and brought it back to our room. Everyone - even my husband - agreed the food was amazing and probably the best meal we'd had all week. Bonus that it didn't break the bank. Looking back in my camera roll, I actually did not take photos. Probably because I was mad. You should still go. The reason for my extremely late review is today I was talking to someone about to travel to that area and I told her she might want to look it up. They deserve the rave review.
