We decided to take a boat…read moreout to explore OC for the first time on Saturday and we're so glad we went with Bayside Boat Rentals! Check in was super easy and they gave our driver a 10 minute tutorial on how to operate the boat. Even though our driver has a boating license, they will issue you a temporary license and give you all you need to know to be safe out on the water! I was especially impressed because due to an incident with another group, we started our rental 15 minutes late, and they let us keep the boat for 15 min past our reservation to make up for time lost! For a 6 hour rental (1:30-7:30 PM), the cost was about $507. So split between 7 people, it only cost about $72. So worth it for 6 hours of free exploration time! They told us about a popular sand bar on the map that we checked out first and it was boat city! So many people out enjoying the redneck yacht club--so fun! After, we docked at Fish Tales for lunch. Then we had about 2 hours left, so we went swimming bayside (before getting stung by jellyfish...) and then rounded out the day docking at Seacrets. The pontoons comfortably fit 7 people, and would easily fit 1-3 more! We also had a giant Yeti cooler that fit with plenty of room to spare on the floor. They also come with pretty loud built-in speakers that connect to the radio and Bluetooth so you can DJ from a phone! You can also drop the back ladder for easy access if you decide to go swimming. Overall, the pontoon rental was a highlight of our weekend and we would love to do it again next time! Thanks Bayside Boat Rentals for an awesome first experience.

After waiting the fog cleared & I was contacted again at 12 pm to say the boat has mechanical problems. I was given no timeline. I had to leave due to other scheduled activities. After two & a half hours of waiting (9:30 am - 12 pm) my family & I left the beach. I was contacted at 12:30 but 3 hours of waiting for a one hour boat ride got really ridiculous.

Instead of pulling us to safety, the staff told us not to return and to stay out in the storm. When we finally came back after 30 minutes, they refused any refund, not even for unused fishing gear. Safety and compassion were completely absent. Do not risk your well being or your money with this business. Their reputation looks good on sunny days, but when conditions turned dangerous, they abandoned responsibility. Never again.

Warning, imagine someone standing over you pouring 5 gal buckets of water on top of your head. over and over. we could go nowhere else but home after, drowned rats, warning, wear bathing suits only, and plastic or croc shoes. They really should tell you this at the ticket booth, we saw one ruined phone, lost glasses, and lost hats. i was holding onto my prescrip glasses the whole time. its not rough, just soaking wet and wind. $20 is ok for the ride up the coast, but dont expect speed thrills. and either wear suits or have extra clothes in your car. wrap your wallet in plastic and leave your phones at home. First and Last for this.

They also described where to park when we got there. The guys were super friendly and got us all set up very quickly. I rented a stand up paddle board, and my husband rented a kayak. We were able to leave our things with them while we went out on the water. The water itself was really peaceful and relaxing. My standup paddle board rental only cost $20 for the hour, which I thought was totally reasonable. FYI, if you need to change, you can use the bathroom in the Princess Bayside. It wasn't the nicest of bathrooms, but at least it was something.

Saw an older man & younger guy teach a couple groups before us and both were very thorough with their paddle board tutorials. We booked our boat tour of Assateague Island and OC bay reservation online for four of my family…read moremembers. This was our first time here. We were here in the morning. I parked my vehicle in the restaurant parking lot. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our boat to return from their current tour. When our boat arrived they unloaded their passengers so we could board for our tour. Our boat was packed with too many customers. We were on a high powered boat. We went out to the inlet and then turned around because the waves were too strong to go out into the Atlantic Ocean. We returned to the bay and eventually saw the wild ponies on Assateague Island. After seeing the wild ponies we returned back to the dock. The bay was littered with sand bars. Luckily our boat had a depth finder. There was one very large sand bar when we returned to our dock. Our captain knew where all the sandbars were located so he avoided them. Overall our cruise took about 1 hour. We were pleased with our cruise. More to come regarding our lunch.
