    Three Assateague horses.

We booked a private tour from Ocean Coty to Assateague to see dolphins, the horses, and wildlife. Despite poor visibility thanks to Canadian wildfire smoke in the air we saw a lot of dolphin activity including a white dolphin and took lots of pictures and video. We saw the Assateague horses up close and then visited egrets, herons, osprey, and other wildlife. Matt was our captain and he was very knowledgeable and informative. His low key approach was wonderful as well. Highly recommend both the company and especially Matt. We hope to book him for fishing in a future visit as he is an expert angler as well.

Man, it pains me to only give them 3 stars, but I honestly have to say our cruise today was a total meh. We saw a few horses behind some brush. That was cool. We had fun in the waves and sea splashes. The captain was friendly and informative. But he totally lost me when instead of looking for more horses, animals, or general sightseeing, he took us on a tour of two canals and the various types of boats each had. Felt like a plug for some local restaurants. I'd have much rather even just got out on a sandbar or something. Just all in all a bit odd.

They have signs asking for reviews, so here's mine. We did a Friday night tour with Carter. He took us north up Assawoman Bay to Delaware and back. Amazing sunsets, and the pontoon made for a very smooth ride. Only got splashed a couple of times. Carter wasn't the usual Friday night guy, but he tried his best. Told us stories about the houses and islands/wildlife we were seeing. Random tip - if you're waiting for the boat to leave, you can play some cornhole outside their office.

The OC Hopper is a wonderful change of pace from just hanging out on the beach. We like it so much we did it twice. Captain Rob and Captain Kevin shared stories and gave us a history lesson on OC.

A couple of years ago, I was trying to find something to do in the Ocean City area with a relative…read morewho doesn't like to do anything at a coastal resort--no beach, no kayaking, no boardwalk, no mini-golf or arcade, no fishing---I could go on and on. Then I found Pocomoke River Cruises and Captain Jerry. My relative is still talking about it with huge enthusiasm. So it was only logical that when I had to find something 4 different personalities (my 3 sisters and I) could do together and enjoy, that I would go back to Captain Jerry at Pokomoke. He makes the planning so easy, doing a great job of trying to meet our schedule. We bring some finger food and a bottle of wine and sit back while he shares his great knowledge, experiences, and insight of the area with us. Best Happy Hour I've ever had. My sisters think I am their hero! They all three agree it was the most enjoyable experience they have had in quite some time. Not because it was exciting, but because it was calming. The quiet beauty and peace of the area sets into your body and soul nearly immediately if you simply open your eyes and breathe. No houses or docks littering the river shoreline, no other boats, no voices, no other people. But there are turtles and large birds (Bald Eagles if you're lucky) and awesome trees and and fresh air and lily pads and flowers and calm water. All enjoyed in comfortable seating while floating quietly on the clean and lovely river. Pokomoke River Cruises is the best kept secret on the shore. I couldn't recommend it any more highly.

One of our favorites- Fat Mezz' was performing last night, they were great and so was the venue! Watching boats and the ferry' coming and going on a lush green lawn watching live music at sun set made it a great night for us. Our grand daughter, my husband and I had a blast! We are likely to go back each Wednesday for the rest of the summer!! Great night out!

If you know me, I don't fare well with being on open water that I have no idea how deep it is…read more Guess you can say that I have a fear of water. But I try to push myself to experience things, even it is through white knuckles and a tapping foot. I booked my trip on the Cape May Lewes Ferry about two weeks out. That way I knew what time I should show up and to secure myself a spot on the boat. Having never taken this ferry before I did my due diligence and educated myself on everything I needed to know. The best way to secure you spot is to go their website ahead of time. Select whether you are a one-way journeyman or if you will be returning. They will need to know how my passengers, whether you will be towing anything, motorcycle, walk on, etc. Have your pass ready upon driving up to the gate, they will scan it and tell you which lane to go to. Once there, all you have to do is wait. No need to worry about getting out of your vehicle and walking over to the visitor center, most people will be doing that. I got out and ventured over to take some pictures and explore. During your wait, there are multiple things that you can do for entertainment. There is a playground if you have children. There is a store inside for souvenirs. There is a place to grab some food. There are trails to walk, benches to sit, and one more very interesting thing. There is a mini miniature golf course outside. Want to use it, go inside to the information desk and ask for some putters and balls, once you hand over your ID to ensure you return with items. When it nears time to start boarding the boat you will hear an announcement to return to your vehicle so that they can do a quick inspection of your vehicle. The staff will then start directing which vehicles will enter the boat first. Motorcycles first and then they go down a lane. I was lucky to be in a lane that was basically first and made my way onto the boat. I was instructed and guided to a spot on the boat. Take note that once you are on the boat to pay attention to instructions. Do not let your alarm system on. As the motion of the boat can set it off. One passenger did not pay attention and their system was going off for a good few minutes. I grabbed a few things from my vehicle and headed up to the decks and took a look around. Snapping some pictures and went to the stern to see the remainder of vehicles load onto the boat. I also stayed back here as we launched. Cover your ears if the horn is going to bother you. After we launched I made my way indoors to find a table and chair to sit at and eat my snack. The seats are comfortable, and when sitting in them you don't feel the motion too much. I was able to enjoy my food and drink before I got up to wander about. Other things to do while on here. Visit the gift shop. Grab a bite to eat or drink in the cafe area. There are also adult beverages available. Take a seat on deck to watch the waves crash and the land in the distance get nearer. Try not to stumble too much with the rocking of the boat. There were several times I almost went down because of this. The day I took the ferry the weather wasn't the best, spitting rain and windy, so that made for choppy waters. Once on the other side, with all of us back to our vehicles, we started to venture into Delaware. Of course, waiting our turn and being guided off the boat. Definitely a unique way to get around and one that cuts miles and minutes off your travel time.
