I will break it down. 11/2024 the came and replaced a transformer on a buzzing heating unit of which I paid $150 for them to come and evaluate earlier. No bill was issue and I was asked to call the office. The same day they confirmed this fee would be applied to the invoice via phone. An invoice was never received so I figured there was no bill. The transformer is $100 online. I contracted with them to do further work for roughly $2,300. Bill was paid the same day. 3/2025 they issued a bill for $430 for 15 minutes of work. Ok but they did not remove the $150 evaluation fee they charge to just come out though they said they would. I responded immediately to the email asking why it took so long for them to invoice and to remove the $150 as the office promised. No response was received. 4/2025 they sent me to collections for this bill. The company is unprofessional in their communication and I would not recommend them though they did decent work. All they had to do was email back or call regarding the invoice.

I completed a full nightmare of a dormer on my home and was very skeptical to ever hire another contractor again. Tommy and Joe came to remove my waste line so a basement repair company could repair a collapsing wall. They removed all the piping in one day with only one weeks notice. The basement wall repair was completed the next day, and then the plumbing was completed on the third day. They also came to install a slop sink for my washer and a full home water filtration system with second faucet. All of this was completed in three days. Literally flawlessly and the guys were so accommodating, polite and helpful. I am so grateful that there are good workers still left in this world like Tommy and Joe because they made this repair so easy for me and my family I even had a loose/wobbly bathtub faucet in my upstairs bathroom that Tommy helped me out with free of charge. The comment made me a bit nervous to settle a contract -- and I told Dave to please pay attention to the wiring in the attic (which was my concern). After the AMAZING experience my family had with KinTech, I wanted to leave my first-ever comment on Yelp for Dave and his company. I am not an easy customer :). KinTech is a local Long Island company and its service (both its job and customer service) felt local/neighborly. When Dave (the somewhat hard-to-believe soft-voiced manager I had talked to on the phone) stopped by for the estimate visit, my wife and I were taken aback positively for his relaxed, friendly dealing (he had a new kind of tea with us :), while sharing details and options). In response to our situation of having already dumped too much money on prior upgrades, he found an affordable configuration for our transition from baseboard heating only to central heating/cooling, including the latest tech and conveniences. But our 5 stars are not just for the quality of mateiral and work and the professionalism of the people who came in our house (Dave sent the most friendly pair of men we've had working in the house). Dave is different. Dave communicated in the most professional and friendly way among maybe 20 contractors we've worked with in the past decade on Long Island as home owners (he reminded us of the genteel South, without the occasional lack of experience with diverse customers LOL). We didn't sense any dishonesty (very common in most home repair/service businesses esp. up here in New York) and that made us very comfortable with Dave. He did ask for a few extra days when he had to juggle different projects, including his gramdma's house that needed urgent attention. But he didn't play games with us, didn't treat us like however the "market demand tells" (as one contractor blurted out recently), and he LISTENED. This guy is something. Give him a chance, and if the project at our home was an exception, share a different perspective. The project was finished on time, pitch perfect, and Dave said he's even willing to come back and calibrate the air flow and add an extra vent. We were already surprised when he sent his guys to double check and clean up. So, I guess customers should communicate our demands and give hard working people a chance to rectify small things after they do all the major and difficult work right (it's a different matter if someone messes up major things or uses a generally problematic approach). As a Long Islander, it makes me proud to see people like this reflect our culture -- not the weirdos especially of the older generation who take customers for granted (I've come across a bit too many of those, including among the younger business owners). I would love to see KinTech grow and to maintain the very, very, very friendly professionalism that Dave has established. KinTech and Dave and the two friendly guys all get 5 stars and a big invisible smiley for the phenomenal job in December 2021.
