I could barely take more than a few bites of the poke before I was hit with that fishy taste you get from thawing out frozen filets not meant to be eaten raw. Maybe they can ask some of the other poke spots where they source their ahi because theirs don't give off that ocean aroma. The pork fries would have been good if the fries weren't dripping in oil - they were soaked in it as if they put the fries in oil that wasn't hot yet (either that or they re-fried previously fried fries). The sauce was VERY salty (maybe some unsalted butter could solve this?) and they were pretty light handed with the garlic, which is disappointing when you're expecting an island style serving of GARLIC shrimp. And what was with the rice? It was cooked with so much water or milk that it was basically eating porridge. Disappointing is probably the best way I can describe this. Service was normal, the wait staff came around and offered more beverage. This time it was still slow period, so what gives it only 3 stars instead of more? It's the fact that the main door the employee use to go into the kitchen to give their orders to the cooks had cob webs on the top of the door.i mean everyone of them walk through that door hundreds of times throughout the week because I could tell it's been there for some time. Where's the food inspector, should be a concern because if it's there in full view of customers and employees, what else is happening as far as cleanliness at Kona Kitchen. I will be there within two or three days and wonder if the cobweb will still be a fixture there... it's something that is annoying because nobody's done anything about it. Amazing.

I then went to the counter politely apologizing for even complaining but would like to have the food remade with less unagi sauce. Instead of saying anything kind, Myla complained to the cooks about me complaining about my fries were too salty. She made jokes aloud while the cooks laughed.
