Our old AC broke and it was gonna cost us some $$ to replace plus it gave us problems from the beginning. So we decided to take the plunge and just replace our old system. He came to do a preventative maintenance service on our unit & took the time to walk me through everything, explain clearly what services he'll be doing that day, and was even super friendly with our dogs! These guys are amazing!! My wife and I walked into Home Depot and they had a booth there. That's when we decided to give Island Comfort a try to have our AC cleaned. I'm so sorry I forgot the technician's name. He was super friendly, respectful and did an incredible job. He wore booties over his shoes so he didn't have to remove them in my house. He also covered my entire AC with a fitted plastic covering to capture the water and dirt. I never knew how dirty my AC was till he started to take it apart and clean it. (See the pictures) To think my wife and I were breathing in all this dirt and mold. I should have done this earlier and more frequently. After he was done we set up a bi-yearly cleaning. He did not try to upsell us and justified his recommendations, which we concurred. Just FYI, they only sell Daikin (which was on our list anyways). His presentation was top notch. So then, Lionel came over that same day and gave us a thorough presentation on the cost of replacing two compressor units, etc, (the second one was operating below optimal). Island comfort was the first to get back to us within 24-48 hours. When scheduling for someone to come, Jeff came that same day and talked to us about what would work better for our space. I Had my central AC system installed on 10/15/25, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I reached out to island comfort on 10/12. Supervisor Donoven came to evaluate my old system on 10/13. He is very knowledgeable. He helped me to decide on the system which will be the best one to meet my needs. He took time to explain the system and answered my questions. Donoven and his crew (Matthew, Fearen, and Josh) arrived on time on 10/15. Three technicians are very good. They work efficiently and showed great attention to detail throughout the whole job. They helped to clean up the mess which was left behind by the prior technician I hired who failed the job completely. They are very polite and professional. Was called back and was told if we're not ready to purchase within 30 days they're "too busy" to come out, and would rather give a quote until we're ready to purchase within that time frame. I scheduled an AC cleaning through Home Depot for $99. Additionally I scheduled a quote to get a new split. Just curious to see if they had really good pricing. They told me three times (once in-store and twice on phone) that the quote would take 2 hours and all owners need to be present the whole time. I asked why it takes so long and the girl said they may need to take measurements and go over financing if I want to finance. The day of, the scheduler called me and asked if they could come early I said yes. I waited 45 mins after the estimated time, and when they arrived I opened the door and was waving to them and smiling. The two guys looked confused. Maybe I looked weird? I don't know.. but they didn't say hi at first or give any acknowledgement. They didn't say sorry for running late either. I said my name and got nothing. I asked are you guys from Daikin, since they weren't saying anything, and they said yes, and I said okay you can come inside. Then they introduced themselves and shook my hand, but it was already too late and too awkward. They walked through to the room where I wanted the AC, then they looked outside. They asked if I would want this done tomorrow and I said no I'm not in a rush. They asked to see the panel for solar. I asked what he meant, and he said the breaker box, and I led him there. He opened it, then closed it, then got in his truck. At this time they've been on-site for about 4 minutes. I said "oh is that it? They told me that this would take 2 hours." He said, "yeah you seem like you don't want us here. Maybe you're tired or not feeling well." I said umm no I was just expecting you guys to be earlier and I still want to get the quote. So he asked, "okay do you want us to come back inside so we're not wasting your time. We can go over the numbers." I said yes. Then they came inside and pulled out their pre-laminated price sheet. I wasn't able to take a picture of it, but Bronze package started at $12k and platinum was around $23k. I don't know if this was just for one AC or two to be honest. Since they used pre-printed quotes I didn't understand the point of the 2-hour scheduled appointment when they could just show this price sheet to customers inside the Home Depot store. I said okay thanks I don't have any questions. Then they stayed for 35 more minutes asking why I don't want to get the AC now. I said I need to think about it and I'm getting other quotes as well. They asked me personal questions trying to break the ice, like what high school I went to and what I do for work, but I was just extremely uncomfortable and so were they. They asked if they should leave again. I was like yeah I don't have any questions. But they said they would also call tomorrow to schedule 2 free cleanings since we got off on the wrong foot. They also called their admin in front of me and told her to call me to schedule the cleanings, but nobody called. They never emailed the quote/details either. From the beginning, when Josh and I first sat down and he began his introduction, to include showing me the pictures of his lovely family, his wanting to treat me and my wife and the work he was about to do as if he was doing it for his family was what really triggered my appreciation and satisfaction is this guy. I sincerely appreciate how Josh emphasized paying attention to DETAILS and doing the work right. I had problems with my a/c smelling. Mr. Ethan of Island Comfort inspected my 2 units. the living room, he said the front of the coils wasn't bad, the backside of the coils and the drop pan was filled with mildew. The drip hose had mildew which was the source for the smell. The other unit was the same problem. Dirty and was steam cleaned. Being that I have children in my home Mr, Ethan was able to work with me to eliminate the use of chemicals. I highly recommend Island comfort to help with your air conditioning needs. My Split AC was making noise, so I called for a cleaning, and a checkup, Jacob in service was able to arrange an appt same day. Jamie the technician was very knowledgeable and quickly determined the compressor needed replacement. I then arranged for this to be dropped off at my neighbor's unit. The next day I get an email saying they didn't have a remote in stock and that they could come one week later. I am now being told it needs to be mounted! I just got a text asking me to confirm I will be meeting them tomorrow! What part about I LIVE IN CA don't you understand.
