2 Meat Plate - Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork Ribs
Dave F.

I've seen the signs on this place for a while - they finally opened. Stopped in with the goal of sampling some jerk chicken - I ended up going with that plus jerk pork ribs. Both the chicken and ribs had great seasoning - I was happy with both, but the ribs were my favorite. My platter had rice and cabbage, but I didn't have room to eat those portions of the meal. The place is new and clean, and you can tell it's family run. If you're craving jerk anything - give them a try!

Island breeze jamaica restaurant

If you want authentic Jamaican Food, this is not the place. If I cloud give this place no star, I certainly would. Ordered the jerk chicken and it was obviously cooked on the stove or in the oven. It tasted and looked like brown stew chicken ( the one that you just seasoned and throw it in the pot and 45 minutes later it ready). As a JA person I love my jerk chicken ( so if you have ads popping up all over Facebook talking about authentic Jamaican food) yes I will come check you out. $20 for a jerk chicken plate that does not taste anything like jerk chicken. You can fool a lot of people who don't know real jerk chicken but you can't fool every body. If I had the time I would return this food for a refund because I didn't get what I ordered. Hot Pot & Jamaica Pon Di Road are some better choices restaurants for Jamaican food if you in this area of Spring. ** for the record 1 leg quarter for $20 is ridiculous + 1 pounds rice in the plate + 2 pieces of plantains + 1 spoon cabbage salad. This is my authentic first hand experience with this place.

Our final destination was Jamaica, and Caribbean Hot Pot brought the culture to life through bold, authentic Jamaican cuisine. They graciously donated a large pan of jerk chicken, large stew chicken, rice and peas, and perfectly seasoned cabbage--and every dish was prepared with incredible flavor, care, and authenticity. The jerk chicken was smoky and tender, the stew chicken was rich and comforting, and the sides tied everything together beautifully. It was a true celebration of Jamaican culture through food. What truly set this experience apart were the owners, Marquisha and Vaughn Watkis. From day one, when I first spoke with Mrs. Watkis, her response was simple and powerful: "We've got you covered." There was no hesitation, no uncertainty--just immediate support and commitment. And they delivered exactly as promised. Their follow-through, professionalism, and genuine heart for the community were evident in every detail--from clear communication to a seamless pickup and beautifully prepared food. Caribbean Hot Pot didn't just donate a meal; they stood in partnership with our mission and showed up for our children in a meaningful way. Watching our children enjoy authentic Jamaican cuisine as we closed out Winter Camp was incredibly special and impactful. It was the perfect way to end a program centered on culture, connection, and care. If you're looking for authentic Jamaican food, outstanding service, and owners who truly stand by their word, Caribbean Hot Pot is the place. We are beyond grateful and highly recommend them to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience rooted in community and excellence. By the way, they also have another location just in case you can't get by FM 1960; they are also located at 12005 Veterans Memorial Dr., Ste A., Houston TX. Thank you, Caribbean Hot Pot--and special thanks to Marquisha and Vaughn Watkis--for helping us close our Winter Program with heart, flavor, and integrity. -- Family Alliance Network

I ordered the pollo guisado and moro, both were good and we have a little left over. My partner ordered the pica pollo and the fried chicken was decent. The food does take some time, and servers did not check in too often so I would recommend ordering ahead of time (unless you have a long lunch break), There are plenty of tables, but it is a little dark inside, 2 bathrooms inside. The juice was on the sweet side so just watered it down (wish they have smoothies), but they get 5 stars overall for the flavor and the price point. Plenty of parking as it's in located along other stores.

The food is aways delicious and satiate my craving for carribean comfort food. The mixed seafood ceviche is loaded with large chunks of white fish, shrimp and octopus mixed with onions and peppers. The classic pernil (pork) never fails and is especially delicious when topped with some of their amazing mojo (garlic) sauce. The oxtail is a bit salty but full of concentrated flavor. This would have been great with a side of rice to eat up all the yummy sauce but I can never pass up the chance to have fried yuca (a pro move would've been to order both sides, which i will definitely do next time).

Love this little truck!…read more Here at Desi Vibes, you get the full food truck experience. Friendly service, a rotating menu, affordable prices (got two meals for $12), operating hours that you just kind of need to check before you go, and most importantly, hot, tasty, messy food. The doubles were the reason I came, and I was lucky to pick some up on a Saturday evening. The pepper sauce is perfect, and they have a great chutney on top. If you're new to Trini street food, doubles are a popular small dish that you'll find in most towns across the island nation, commonly eaten for breakfast. Essentially it's chickpeas in a curry-like sauce served on two bara (which function like a tortilla). It's delicious and unlike most familiar flavor profiles, and it's definitely worth trying here because these folks knock it out of the park. The mushroom burger came out hot - almost too hot to hold. The patty was cooked well-done, which is worth noting if you prefer a medium cook on your burger. The mushrooms, onions, and sauce got everywhere - it was glorious. Can't wait to go back and try the loaded fries, shrimp fritters, and more of their authentic Trini dishes!

One order has 3 sliders with mini beef patties topped with cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños - all in all super delicious! The loaded fries were pretty good too but I will say that the cheese sauce was slightly lacking in flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was nice and crispy but the coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. The chicken itself was a little dry inside so I think some kind of sauce would be a great addition! Make sure you check them out on instagram to see menu updates before you go. Their prices are so reasonable and it's nice to have more halal options in North Houston!
