I decided to go here, and I was not disappointed! I ordered my food to go and waited only about 5 minutes. The establishment is pretty small, with a small bar area. I ended up ordering a large Curry Chicken and a side of Jerk Chicken. It definitely reminded me of when I was back in Jamaica! The spice level is perfect, and the portion size is nice! I actually had enough food to last me a couple of days. The only suggestion I would give is that I wish there was more curry sauce on my rice. If I would've asked, I'm sure it would've been no problem! Next time, I definitely want to try the oxtails! Highly recommend!

You can tell right away it's authentic--everything from the curry chicken to the oxtail and roti is packed with flavor. It's not watered down for the masses, it tastes like somebody in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing. They've got that Trinidad influence too, which I appreciate. You don't see that everywhere. Stuff like doubles and buss up shut on the menu is a big deal if you know what you're looking at. Portions are solid, food comes out fresh, and overall it just hits. It's one of those spots where you keep thinking about the food after you leave. If you want real Caribbean flavor in Houston, this is one of the places you need to try.

We came here on a Friday night. This place offered phenomenal flavorful Jamaican cuisine. I'm not lying when I say we were eating the food with our eyes closed! The prices were fair and the portions were huge I was soooo satisfied! Staff was super nice, cool, and suggestive! They definitely helped in elevating the experience for me. And the restaurant definitely had an intimate feel to it. I also loved the ambiance! It's the perfect mix of restaurant and (lowkey) lounge vibes. They have music (live DJ was playing all the hits) and alcohol as well. I had the rum punch and it was superrrr strong haha, definitely left out of there leaning. And I'm not talking about a little kick I'm talking about so strong I was thinking they accidentally gave me punch flavored rum and not rum punch. I 100% recommend this spot and will be visiting again on my next Houston visit!

It said they have fresh fish, but when I got there, I was told they had gone through the fish over the weekend. After conversing with Maria, I decided on the special of the day: fried chicken, rice, and cabbage salad. The chicken was fried crisp (like my Nana use, too make) yummy! Real simple meal, I added the green plantains instead of buying a bag of the chips, and a soda was included. My belly is full. This was a very unassuming location. It sits back off the street. When I pulled up, it looked closed. Do not be fooled, I'm happy I got out of the car and tried the door. I'm excited, the food was good so I will go back and try them again. Hopefully, when I go back there, they'll have some fish, and then I'll update my review. Give them a try, I don't believe you'll be disappointed! I ate the food before I wrote the review. I'll do better next time.

They were out of quite a few things so I ended up just grabbing some plantains and then going to a restaurant for a meal but it was fine considering I was just kind of looking for a snack to hold me over for a long drive and these did the trick. This truck is designed so cute it definitely stands out in a crowd of food trucks. I thought it was odd that I didn't get my change until the end when I came back for my food though and then she forgot that she had to give me my change but when I reminded her she left the truck and came back with my change so I'm assuming and she just ran out of change. If I hadn't remembered though she would've came up on a 300% tip LOL Anywaaays, Overall a good experience.

Authentic Dominican/Caribbean food in Willowbrook. Who knew?…read more I remember this place from a birthday party decades ago. The space was a bit bigger (they've since redesigned it smaller), but the crowds were smaller. Success hasn't tarnished their food. It was a very rainy and soggy afternoons and the place was packed. We managed a table and ordered. Can't go wrong with the delicious shrimp mofongo. I honestly think the sauce is the icing on that cake, made all the more delicious with a squeeze of lemon. Whew! Service was fast and dinner came out at a reasonable pace. The owner is so friendly and stopped by our table to make sure things were good. Better than good! If you're in the Willowbrook area do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch or dinner. Prices are a little steep, but what's isn't these days?

I ordered the pollo guisado and moro, both were good and we have a little left over. My partner ordered the pica pollo and the fried chicken was decent. The food does take some time, and servers did not check in too often so I would recommend ordering ahead of time (unless you have a long lunch break), There are plenty of tables, but it is a little dark inside, 2 bathrooms inside. The juice was on the sweet side so just watered it down (wish they have smoothies), but they get 5 stars overall for the flavor and the price point. Plenty of parking as it's in located along other stores.

Friendly service, a rotating menu, affordable prices (got two meals for $12), operating hours that you just kind of need to check before you go, and most importantly, hot, tasty, messy food. The doubles were the reason I came, and I was lucky to pick some up on a Saturday evening. The pepper sauce is perfect, and they have a great chutney on top. If you're new to Trini street food, doubles are a popular small dish that you'll find in most towns across the island nation, commonly eaten for breakfast. Essentially it's chickpeas in a curry-like sauce served on two bara (which function like a tortilla). It's delicious and unlike most familiar flavor profiles, and it's definitely worth trying here because these folks knock it out of the park. The mushroom burger came out hot - almost too hot to hold. The patty was cooked well-done, which is worth noting if you prefer a medium cook on your burger. The mushrooms, onions, and sauce got everywhere - it was glorious. Can't wait to go back and try the loaded fries, shrimp fritters, and more of their authentic Trini dishes!

One order has 3 sliders with mini beef patties topped with cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños - all in all super delicious! The spicy chicken sandwich was nice and crispy but the coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. The chicken itself was a little dry inside so I think some kind of sauce would be a great addition! Make sure you check them out on instagram to see menu updates before you go. Their prices are so reasonable and it's nice to have more halal options in North Houston!
