I am giving 2 stars because we had good service for a few years, but in the last 3 years this…read morecompany has been absolutely a pain. This is going to be a long review... sorry. When we first started the service was good and the equipment all worked well. We had a simple system and we lived in a medium sized rural area in Texas, so there was no problem with getting a tech to come to our house when we had an issue. We moved to another house in the same town in Texas, and had another system installed with a few more pieces of equipment. Everything still worked fine, but the thermostat we had installed had issues connecting to the panel. It was still not that big of a deal. Then we moved from Texas to Tennessee. They put our account on a year long moving hold. We now live in a urban area about an hour and a half from any major city. When we called to have the system installed at our new home the time that they had for the tech to come out was at 5 pm on Halloween, so we said ok. The guy came out and installed the panel, and the door lock. He said he could not install the outdoor camera because he did not have the right drill bit. And he could not hook up the doorbell camera because the wires were cut too short. He said he would call me to reschedule another day that he could come back and finish the job. He took the outdoor camera and the doorbell camera with him when he left. He also did not install our door sensors either. A month later when he did not call or come back, I called the company to ask for him to come back and finish the job. They had a hard time trying to schedule a tech because we live so far from where they would be coming from and they have to cross time zones to get to us. When we finally got a date to finish the installation I left work early to be home when he got there. Well nobody ever showed up. I called the company to find out when the tech would be there and they said we do not have an appointment scheduled. When they looked back in the records they said it looked like someone canceled and never told us. By this time I was fed up with them and told them I wanted to cancel my service. They said that I cannot because we were financing the equipment. I told them that I did not even have half of the equipment that I was supposed to have. But in order for them to get those items taken off of our loan they had to send some one out to inspect and make sure we did not have it. Some one finally came out and months later and many phones calls later they finally removed those parts from our loan. After a few months of paying off the loan and paying for a serivce that was not monitoring anything becuse it was still joy fully installed we called to cancel our service. They then told us that we were still under contact, when we were originally told that there was no contract. Long story short, if you live in a bigger city and you need this service, it should be fine, as long ad you never want to cancel, but if you live in urban areas do not bother with this company.

I guess I had never experienced a local security company or thought to even go with one. But I did! I am so glad I did. I recently contacted him because I was moving from Nashville and needed to cancel my subscription. I forgot how awesome he was. He is the only person that works for his company. He is personable and professional and remembered facts about me from 2 years ago. Who does that? No contracts. Just a flat fee a month and I did not even have to purchase equipment. I was reminded of the care he took in installing so as not to cause permanent damage to the property. He was so quick. I can only hope that the next security company I use is has high quality as he and his business is. Amazing customer service.

The tech showed up on time with all the appropriate tools. He was very respectful and friendly. You could tell that he had a ton of experience with various potential hiccups that come up with this type of job and made some really good recommendations about placement etc. He was in and out in about 30 min and everything looks and works amazing. If you need a large TV (or 2) hung the right way, don't want to worry about them falling, damaging your walls, or you are like me and value having someone do something in 30 min that would have taken me all day, several f-bombs and potentially a divorce, definitely call Tech Next Door. Today (08JUN20 - Mon) Hugo, alarm technician from Preventia Security of Columbia, TN arrived at my…read morenew home addition on-time and ready to work. Hugo called me first to confirm our appointment (that is a huge "plus" in my book when dealing with technicians knowing they are on the way!) and WAS ON TIME! After Hugo installed the alarm / smoke detector items and keypads, he explained how to use the system fully without "rushing or glossing over" what I needed to know. My work order was not a large dollar amount one and they were "tying into" an existing alarm system. Most alarm companies would probably have tried to "up-sell" me a new, costly alarm control panel or quoted an outrageous price just to get me to decline and look elsewhere . I would like to applaud Preventia Security for sending an alarm professional to attend to my alarm / smoke detector needs. Hugo is a valued team member and an asset to Preventia Security in my opinion. I also would like to acknowledge John, their salesman and Sarah, their scheduler who assisted me in this small, but important alarm / smoke detector job. Both John and Sarah were also tops in their game in terms of communications and responsiveness! Folks, I am pretty critical when it comes to service, value and communications with sales and service related companies. Without any reservations, I can honestly recommend Preventia Security of Columbia, Tennessee for a value priced, headache-free installation of your alarm / smoke detector system. Thank you Preventia Security!
