From 12 o'clock: Stringy, dry braised beef 'short ribs', very dry rice pilaf with a spoon of the beef sauce to moisten it up a little, flavorless, unseasoned butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with pepitas, exceedingly dry, unseasoned salmon with no sauce, gummy, pasty chicken part with a gluey, tasteless sauce and very tasty glazed carrots. The salt shaker did a lot of work on this meal. The crême brulée was nice. The room's ambiance was cold and sterile with no discernable decor. The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. The food, service, and ambiance there sucks (in my personal, and formerly professional opinion).

Working with Dawn, the event coordinator was such a wonderful experience. The WLYC sits right on Wequaquet Lake, making it a dreamy backdrop for all of our pictures. Every single person we interacted with (especially Dawn) at WLYC was genuinely kind and helpful throughout the entire process, we never felt like we were just another wedding. We were able to bring in our own catering and use their kitchen. Part of their contract is to use their bar and bartenders (who were amazing, our guests raved about them!), fortunately their alcohol was very reasonably priced. The whole dining room faces the lake and large windows run the length of the room, there was plenty of space for all of our (17) tables and still room for dancing! They done a number of renovations over the past few years, giving the dining and entry rooms a beautiful facelift (and a higher ceiling) without losing any of the Cape yacht club charm. This venue is amazing whether or not you're planning your event on a budget (but especially if you are). Check it out, talk to Dawn, you will not regret it!

I should have ordered fresh from the menu but no one explained to me- customer service is hit or miss here, some are fab and others can't wait to go home and it shows. Until that happens, you might want to know more. Moreover, if only the conference center has been sold (as news reports), still applies to the lodging. The property has so much potential but its failings dimmish it greatly. It is dated and many things are broken, dirty or non-functional. I was here two years ago (attended a conference) and stayed offsite. This year (same conference) I thought it would be nice to stay on site, and I regret it. My room is large, and the bed is comfortable however there is a terrible odor of must, or mildew or mold. It is overpowering. The entire wing my room is in smells of this. The air conditioner is noisy, and the odd refrigerator placed on a small table is also noisy. The hallway floors are lifting and squishy as if they may have been water damaged. Lamps are broken and power outlets are limited and oddly located. There is no place to sit at a desk or table in the overly large room. The main resort area and conference rooms is full of gnats (or fleas? or fruit flies?). I will say the resort is affordable - and that may be due to the poor quality of the facility. I can see it being attractive to families who may be on a limited budget, have amenities for the kids and things to do off site. For the most part, I do not recommend. Which is sad, I want to, it has potential, but it is too dated and dilapidated. Perhaps with the funds they get from the partial sale they will be able to invest.

A very clean and tastefully decorated room, with a comfy chair and futon right by the window which looked out on the courtyard. Loved the decorative Cape Cod pillow. Our request for extra pillows was quickly honored. We were probably about 20 to 30 steps from the indoor pool and we were worried it might be noisy, but heard nothing from our room. A quiet and tranquil stay. We did not swim, but did check out the pool area and it was spacious and inviting. The shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water, and shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied. We loved the shelving in bathroom to house the towels. We very much enjoyed our stay, the price was very reasonable and would highly recommend. 4.5 stars.

The only negatives I can think of is that the rice is a bit bland and I think that Guacamole should come with the fajitas instead of it being an up charge. I wish I could rate it a 4.5, but because I come every year and never leave unsatisfied, I'll give them the 5 instead of the 4 star review. As they were unloading, we snuck around them to the front desk. The front desk told us that this was the first of 2 buses that would be staying at the hotel. It was supposedly a little larger than the other rooms. The room had a nice sofa and a work area. A small refrigerator was available for us to use. The bathroom was adequate. The toiletries were the usual bonvoy special. The room was good enough to give a couple of good nights of sleep. Breakfast was served in the morning downstairs. Because of the multitudes of elderly there on a bus tour, they also opened up a conference room for additional seating during the breakfast hours. The breakfast was decent for a Fairfield with scrambled eggs, sausages, breads and fruit. 2 waffle irons were available for you to make waffles. The hotel gym was located on the first floor. It had ellipticals, treadmills and bikes for your cardio equipment. Dumbbells were available for you to lift. Santizing wipes were available for you to clean the equipment. I got to meet a few of the participants on the tour from both Ohio and from the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. They were really nice people with a great sense of humor. They told me that I could be a stoway on the bus. The hotel was good. It was better than I thought it would be. Meeting the nice people on the tour made my stay even better. Nothing to be scared of.
