I'll have to come back :) staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Their cream cheese selections were really unique with some classics in them. This time, I got the lox bagel on sesame, and the sausage egg and cheese on a cinnamon raisin (I personally love the sweet and salty combo). Both were really great! I loved how the warmth of the sausage egg and cheese bagel kept the bagel, it was super soft and wasn't hard or too firm to bite into. Cute little spot, a grab and go though so there aren't tables. This is my new fav bagel spot in the area! We got the lox on an everything bagel, a bacon, egg and cheese bagel, and the fig/honey spread bagel. I loved the bagels here; they were crisp on the outside but very hearty and doughy and decently sized. The people behind the counter were so nice and welcoming. There isn't any seating so we ate in our car but it was worth it. My boyfriend said the breakfast bagel he got was one of the best he's had in NC. Would definitely go again! read more

Isaac's Bagels is a must try. We went on a Sunday morning and it was packed but the bagels are worth it to wait a bit. We ordered the egg salad on a sesame bagel (I never order egg salad but this is a curry egg salad which was really good). This was my first stop after moving to Durham and it was a great way to start my new life here! This is a take-out only spot but the service was fast and they have free street parking outside. We got sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and a sesame bagel with fig cream cheese. The bagels were perfectly chewy and tasted really fresh. Atmosphere: Isaac's Bagels recently opened a small shop where they serve pickup and to-go orders. There are a few seats outside to enjoy your bagel too. Service: The servers are friendly, and our bagels came out in ~10 minutes. Food: We ordered the Whitefish Salad and Egg Salad Bagels. The Whitefish Salad had a pretty intense fishy flavor that we didn't feel balanced well with the cream cheese. The Egg Salad really threw us for a loop. The curry taste was very strong and overshadowed any of the egg salad/pickle flavors. The bagels themselves were chewy and dense. Overall: While we weren't impressed by our bagels this time around, we're hoping to come back and try some of the other menu items. Maybe this was just an off day, but our experience at Isaac's Bagels did not live up to the hype. read more

Great bagels. I like the sausage, egg and cheese and the white fish salad. I'd be there every week if it weren't for the parking situation. It can be really difficult to find a parking when they get busy. But the highlight is the service. The barista I interacted with today was so warm and friendly to everyone who came in. I was having kind of a rough morning, and she turned my day around. I didn't catch her name, but she has a tattoo going down her right arm that looks sort of like red feathers. read more

Quite possibly the best bagels in the Durham area!! My boyfriend and I grabbed breakfast sandwiches this morning (he got the sausage egg & cheese and I got the bacon egg & cheese). They were both chewy, flavorful, and filling. Since Isaac's is to-go only, we ordered using the mobile system. The process was pretty straightforward. They make your coffee when you come to pick up your order, which is nice-- nobody likes lukewarm or watered-down drinks. I will definitely be back soon to try some of their cream cheeses!! read more

The best bagels I've had in Durham in 35 years. Grew up in NYC, and I'd say these come closest to the real thing. Perfectly crusted, relatively light inside (not the hockey pucks you can get in the Food Hall), and all the seeded variety are generously covered - perfection! Keep up the good work. Stopped in early on Sunday morning to pick up a bagel for myself. Luckily there was no wait and plenty of parking nearby. The hardest part was waiting until I got home (didn't want everything bagel seasoning all over the car). The bagel was freshly and chewy and their everything bagel seasoning is nice and garlicky! The jalapeño cream cheese is delicious and has a nice amount of spice. I'd had Isaac's before when someone brought them over, but this was my first time going to the shop itself. More like 3.5 or 3.75 stars. Hands down the best textured bagel available in the area. For once, here's an NC bagel that is not a squishy roll with a hole in the middle. Coatings are abundant. Also, the ability to pre-order is very convenient. On the downside, the taste of the bagel itself is somewhat flat. If you pile your bagel with strongly flavored cheese or fish you may not notice it so much. Otherwise, you definitely will. Garlic bagels are not an option, which I find disappointing. The mix on the everything bagel is very seed-heavy and could really use more salt, onion, and garlic. Oh, and prices are high. All in all, a pretty decent option. read more

i love this place so much!!! it really reminds me of this bagel shop i went to in NYC called apollo bagels! the menu options are so good and i can tell the bagels are quality and really well made. I arrived early in case there was a line but lucky for me there was not. However, several people stopped by to pick up the goods. I saw people getting just one and some getting bags full. The bagels are put in a brown paper bag (the only way to do it). I headed to the window to put in my order, I had already checked it out on Instagram so I was ready. In my family we are bagel purest and I picked up a half dozen of bagels trying everything but plain because while plain is nice it's basic! The bagels were everything a good bagel should be, soft, chewy on the inside, a nice crunch on outside, perfectly sized, with a nice lovely flavor. Isaac's was the one meal we looked forward to everyday, and I tried almost everything! A. Their salt and pepper bagel is fabulous with just about anything. B. The lox and the avocado were my two top picks. Particularly on the S&P bagel. C. They had bialy there, which we really only ever see up north. So good! D. Today I tried Isaac's Bagels for the first time at Queeny's. I have been following them on Insta for a while and was glad to finally be able to check them out. These bagels are THICCC. I love the generous amount of cream cheese they put on every bagel. I tried the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Savory heaven. The bagels are a little tough when you bite them so with the one I got I had seeds everywhere so maybe don't get that kind on a first date. Luckily was just with my dog so he didn't judge me. I'm excited to try their other bagels soon! I also hope they bring the cold brew back for spring because cold brew and bagels are my fave combo. read more

It was just...okay. I'm a NY bagel connoisseur so I appreciate a good chew. However, the garlic on my everything bagel was burnt in places, which 1) makes the bagel texture dry and near impossible to chew and 2) added an incredibly bitter taste to half my bagel. In addition, I just wanted white milk (not chocolate milk) to drink. The woman at the front register happily keyed in my request, but then the employee next to her measured out exactly 8 ounces of milk into a cup. It looked pathetic as it wasn't even half full. Even more pathetic was that I was charged $2 for that. Had I known, I would've just driven home for a drink, as the amount they gave me was not nearly enough to cover the dry, burnt bagel. Cream cheese was okay; nothing to write home about. Bagel selection is limited. Nowhere to sit, which I knew going in. The employees were all very friendly. It's cheaper than Brandwein's and tastes more like a NY bagel. However, the execution was pretty bad. And at $17 for two burnt bagels, I don't think I'll be back. Glad I didn't waste my money by buying bagels to go in advance. I really wanted to like this place! It seems like they do a good business by how busy they were, but I don't "get it" unless they had a REALLY off day. I'm just going to conclude that North Carolina still doesn't know what a good NY bagel is. read more

My husband and I are brats about bagels after a lot of time in NY, and these scratch a real itch. We haven't had another bagel in the triangle that we've liked as much, so we were thrilled when Isaac's opened their brick and mortar.
