Absolutely love this place. My husband and I go to lots of K-spas and this was the best out of the bunch we've gone to. We live in SD but we make the drive up here as it's totally worth it! The jimjilbang is incredibly spacious and clean. The central co-ed area with the heated floors had multiple TVs playing sports or K-dramas. Expect to spend at least half your day relaxing here. Think of it as a resort! My favorite part is coming with a group of friends. The atmosphere is really relaxing, people are courteous, and the food from the restaurant is good! We went on a Sunday afternoon and the crowd was so chill. The drinks from the cafe were super refreshing after we've plunged ourselves into the wrath of the super hot clay room. Ice room is normally full so we just walk into the cafe area as there's AC in there. The only downside is that you're walking everywhere barefoot, because normally you'd get slippers. For review 1000, I was hoping to give 5 stars but dinged a star for the massage. I'll come back but will stay in the common area, hot rooms, and saunas. My lady friend liked her massage, but mine was week. I give foot massages and thought mine could have been done better. For $35 you can spend six hours in the common area hot rooms, spas, and saunas. You get a key to put your shoes in a shoe locker. The same key opens your main locker in the locker room. If you purchase a massage, the $35 fee is waived. The sauna, spa areas are separate for each sex. The men area have three spas. One is hot, one warm, and one ice cold. There's a wet sauna and dry sauna, and showers. This area is full nude. They have disposable razors, and toothbrushes. You put a uniform on to go in the massage room, common area, hot rooms and cafe. The common room is huge, and the floor is heated. Most people relax on the floor, and just chill. The hot rooms are a clay room, salt room, hot brick room forest room, and there's an ice room. Honestly, I could spend 6 hours in the ice room. I love the cold. The cafe serves yummy Korean food. You can sit at a regular table or on the floor using a low table. It was a relaxing day, and my lady friend will be back. Really wanted to get a scrub done for my birthday and was hesitant to come here because of some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised! In my experience the front desk was kind and helpful I asked for a run down since it's my first time and she was happy to explain. The facilities were clean and generally well kept. My scrub/massage was great she was super thorough and she did a great job. Wasn't pushy for tips or anything as I read in other reviews - they simply give you a tip envelope that you turn it at the end when you leave. The hot common areas were a little too hot for me but still had a nice bowl of jajangmyeon and hung out in the regular common area. It was crowded for a Saturday but nothing too crazy. I Love ISpa. I've been going here for many years now and I can stay here for hours. It's a great place to relax by yourself or with your friends. There is a women's and men's only area where you can undress and relax in their hot, warm or cold pools. There's also a dry and steam sauna. The common area is really nice as well. They have the really hot room, clay room, forests room, salt room, and cold room. I love going in that order. Then I'll hang out in the huge common area before going to the pools and then washing up before going home. I wish they didn't have a time limit, but you only get to stay there for 6 hours. Today, I embarked on an adventure of relaxation to the unknown. As it was my first time at a Korean spa... let alone any spa. Wow! It surely was an experience. For those first timers like me, I'll comfort your thoughts by saying that I'd definitely return in the future. It took some time to warm up to (literally & mentally). Walking into the lobby, you will first check in at the front desk. You can ask questions about the services they offer. They offer several massage options such as acupressure, oil, combination, body scrubs. If you're not looking to get rubbed or scrubbed, you will just pay for general admission which gets you access to the common area, locker room, and pools. The locker room area is stocked with towels and amenities to get yourself clean before entering the pools and common spaces. This area is of course gender segregated as it is a fully nude space. Very interesting if it's your first time experiencing something like this. The "wet" area had a cold, warm, and hot tub, misty and dry saunas. I decided on trying the oil massage. It was $125 for an hour but included admission. A good experience as it was my first time getting a massage, but wasn't worth it in my opinion. I didn't feel as there was enough pressure in some areas as I expected. Make sure to bring cash to tip your masseuse afterward! Once you're ready, you'll enter the common room which is a large open space with heated floors. It's a chill area to rest before moving onto the special rooms. These specially tailored rooms offer different environments and temperatures such as the fire, ondal (clay), salt, forest, and ice rooms. All of the rooms besides the ice room are heated at different degrees of temperatures. The fire room being the hottest, the room is lined with floor mats for you to lie down. The salt room is also warm with the floor covered in heated rocks and walls made of what I'm assuming are salt blocks. Forest room is scented with what seemed like wood. Lastly, the ice room is basically a giant freezer and is nice after you've been releasing so much sweat. Their food court I would say is a must visit as you'll surely work up an appetite if you're there for hours. They have a substantial menu of Korean food and drinks. I actually had two meals during my time there. I had their galbi & tofu soup combo and stir fried seafood udon. I definitely preferred the galbi and soup although the udon wasn't bad. You get banchan of course! The employees in there are super nice and food comes out surprisingly quick. I was honestly surprised they were serving up such quality Korean food as I wouldn't expect that from a spa. It was a unique experience going solo but it could also be fun relaxing with friends or a partner. First time here and I loved it! $35 admission fee. This place was huge. To the left is the females and to the right is the males. You're given a key for 2 lockers. 1 for your shoes and the other for all your other things. You are fully naked for the treatments and spas but in the common area you wear the shorts and shirt they give to you. There is so much here. They have a sauna and steam room. You do have to shower before you do anything so this place is really clean. In the shared area where everyone can be there are a couple rooms you can go in. A salt room, fire room, a wood room, a clay room, and my favorite an ice room. There are TV's all around. Lots of places to lounge around. I got the 30 minute scrub and 30 minute massage. First time experiencing this kind of spa. Shorts and a t-shirt are provided but only worn in common areas. Lockers and keys provided. Otherwise you're fully disrobed for the whole experience. You soak in one of the various hot tubs. Showers are open except for half dividers more for spacing than privacy. Treatments are done on plastic-covered tables. Older ladies in their underwear (because it's wet everywhere!) scrub scrub scrub everywhere with mits or sponges that feel like brillo pads and rinse you by throwing buckets of water on you. They do provide hand towel-size towels to cover your face and private area. If you get the massage, it's NOT a Swedish or relaxing massage. You're stretched and handled. Not painful just not the kind of massage you might typically think of at a spa. The facilities looked clean. They provide hair dryers and other small amenities you'll need to clean up afterwards, but we saw a lot for women bring their own shower caddy of soap, hair products, and toiletries. It was our first time to a Korean spa and we kind of knew what to expect from googling it BUT i think you can never be fully prepared for the actual experience. What you NEED TO KNOW: You will be fully nude unless you're in the common (mixed gender areas). Your treatments are done only in your same gender areas. If you're doing scrub or massage, you need to disrobe, shower in doorless stalls visible to everyone else, then wait in one of 3 hot tubs (cold warm or hot) until called by your locker number. NO bathing suits or slippers allowed Body scrub is done on a padded plastic lined table completely nude by strong korean women who speak very little English. They scrub every part of you with brillo pad like gloves except for your face and deep inner nether regions. You will be rinsed with buckets of hot water thrown on you like you're a shower floor that's just been mopped. Occasionally they will put a warm wet towel on you to give you a sense of modesty but don't expect any conversation or narration of what's to come next. The massage is the opposite of relaxing tranquility that you might be used to at other dayspas but they do work your knots out. These ladies are strong! My skin was very soft afterwards but I will be doing my own exfoliation in the privacy of my own bathroom from now on. Parading around in front of a bunch of strangers all averting or eyes to not seem like we're looking at anyone else is an extremely awkward thing. So glad I didn't see anyone I knew there! TLDR: if you want to be scrubbed by strangers from neck to toe with no narration of what's about to happen at any point in this experience and have your skin sloughed off leaving you smooth AH but feeling vulnerable and self concious AF cuz you are nude the whole time, then this is for you. read more

This was one of the most shocking and uncomfortable experiences of my life. I was in the women's nude area when individuals who appeared biologically male entered the space. All of the women present were completely undressed at that moment and visibly distressed. No one had been warned in advance. I understand that California law protects gender identity rights. However, there was absolutely no transparency or prior notice for female guests that access to the women's nude area is based on gender identity rather than biological sex. While certain rights may be legally protected, the privacy and emotional comfort of other women should also be respected. At the very least, clear communication and visible policy disclosure would allow guests to make an informed decision before entering. In addition in this area were kids age 7, 11,12 Which makes it even more shocking Approximately 13 guests, including myself, chose to leave the facility as a result of this situation. No one offered a refund or made any effort to address our concerns or help us feel safe and supported. In addition, while several of us were discussing the situation among ourselves in Russian, a representative of the spa approached me in a hostile manner and told me to stop speaking and leave the premises. Not only did I feel humiliated and distressed by what had already occurred, but the staff's reaction made the situation even worse. Ispa single-handedly makes me love life 10x more every time I visit. The whole atmosphere allows for rest and relaxation. They give you a uniform to change into because the sauna will make you sweat everything out. When you go into the common space, there is a cafeteria for food/drinks, the sauna rooms, and places to chill/study. There are multiple sauna rooms, each with their own respective unique qualities for certain health benefits. They have a little sign about it. They also vary in heat, as some rooms can be a detriment to health concerns. It's fun to try each out! They also have an ice room, where you can cool off. Laying and being in your own head in these rooms is calming and meditative, all the while releasing toxins from your body. The cafeteria is a great aspect to Ispa. Ordering is similar to a mall food court, where you'd get your meal at the register. They have a menu full of meals that fill you with warmth and comfort. They give you pretty big portions too, along with banchans/rice. They also offer drinks like smoothies, slushies, and fresh juice! The meal I tried most recently was the kimchi stew & teriyaki chicken. The taste is more homey, can't go wrong with that. You have an option of sitting on chairs or the floor. We had a 9am scrub massage appointment. We had to soak in the hot tub prior - it was awkward at first because you have to be completely nude. But everyone is respectful and honestly, no one really cares lol. So I got use to it. Best scrub of my life! All the dead skin was scrubbed off and then followed with a massage. We had lunch at the food court! The spread was so tasty!!! And then went to spend time in the hot ass salt room. The conditioner pumps weren't working for the 4 shower stalls I tried. The towels to dry after were super small microsize... like it's only big enough to dry off some hair. The common area is WAY too hot. Even just lying there for 20+ min is boiling headache. This place needs better sanitary, temperature, and air ventilation. I don't have to fly all the way to Korea for my first jjimjilbang experience! My friend took me here for the first time the other day, and it was such a fun and interesting experience. Admission is $35, but if you schedule a service, admission is included. I scheduled an acupressure massage for $115, so my admission was included in that price. You first get a locker for your shoes, then you walk into the mens or womens bath area where you can strip down and rinse off in the showers before getting in the cold, warm, or hot pool with saunas. After being in the pool, we decided to get some food and ordered spicy bulgogi and the bibim naengmyeon. Spicy of course. Both were so so good. I also ordered a sikhye because you're supposed to at a Korean spa. Duh. We tried all of the rooms except for the salt room because it was busy, but I actually really liked the ice room. It sounds intimidating if you don't like the cold, but because the whole place is generally warm, it's a very welcome cold. Like sticking your head in the freezer on a hot day. As for the massage, it was really nice, but definitely painful once she got to my calves. It was for about 60min and my masseuse went IN. Second time here and did not have a good time. I went in the morning and the hot water pool and the steam room smelled super stinky, like feet or bad body odor. The "clean" towel I grabbed had BLOOD SPOTS on them. Doesn't seem like they've cleaned the pools or the showers overnight. Compared to last year, they're also cutting corners and cheaping out on shampoo, conditioner, and lotion quality. Also, MOST of the hairdryers did NOT work. Uhhhhhhmazing for self-care days! Drove up from San Diego and spent the entire day lounging, eating, and loving life. The facilities are clean/sanitary and well-organized. Several different "rooms" to choose from- hot rooms with bricks, rocks, and/or clay imported from Korea, and an ice room to cool off and close up those pores. You can rotate between the rooms but make sure you hit the wood room for the aromatherapy effect. Eat your heart out in the cafe and recharge after you sweat everything out! Lots of classic Korean dishes that will feed your soul. Looking forward to making an investment in myself and going up atleast once a month! I haven't been to I-Spa in years since they raised their admission price from $20 to $30 so consider me surprised that for the current admission price of $40 (and I went for a post-workout recovery), a lot of amenities I remember seeing on the women's side are gone. Before Covid happened, the women's side had skincare products in their "powder room" as well as combs and plastic hairbrushes that you would put into a UV sterilizer after you were done using them. Now it's all gone and the only things available are the new Dyson hairdryers (which do not dry hair as fast as the old ones did) and Q-tips. Also gone are the large towels, only the small towels are left. The jimjjilbang also now closes 30 minutes before closing when it used to close at the same time as the spa side. The only good thing about the jimjjilbang though is that they moved the massage chairs out from that little room that was inside the cafeteria out to the main area and they also have whole body floor mat cushions now instead of just firm pillows. read more

I went to this place a couple of days ago for the second time. I think the locker facilities and the dry sauna area are very clean and great. I especially like the salt sauna room. The ice room is not as cold as I would like. My favorite part is the wet area with the steam room, dry sauna and hot/ cold jacuzzies. However, I noticed in my last visit the chemicals and chlorine used in the wet area were excessive. After I left the spa, I had runny nose, burning eyes and occasional coughing. Two male patrons were openly using their phones inside the all-nude men's spa area--apparently recording--an explicit violation of spa policy and a major privacy issue. Despite repeated requests from the attendant to stop and put their phones away, the patrons ignored him and behaved dismissively. I accompanied the attendant to the front desk to relay this concern to the female manager. I clearly explained the situation and requested that she involve a male attendant or upper management to remove the patrons, given the severity of the violation. Her response was hesitant and dismissive. She asked the attendant to return and repeat the policy once again, then claimed she did not fully understand the issue despite it being explained multiple times. She hurriedly dismissed us, made a brief phone call, and walked away. When she returned, she stated that no one was available to assist and instructed the attendant to go back yet again to issue a "simple warning," suggesting she would call the police only if it happened again--despite being told repeatedly that the patrons were already refusing to comply. She then walked away and said there was nothing more she could do. This was an incredibly disappointing and concerning display of management. Two patrons were violating privacy by potentially recording in a nude space, openly disrespecting staff, and ignoring spa rules--yet the manager showed little urgency, accountability, or support for her employee. Her demeanor came across as disinterested and dismissive, leaving a low-level employee to handle an unsafe and inappropriate situation alone. For an establishment that prides itself on relaxation, respect, and professionalism, this incident reflects a serious lapse in management judgment and care. I have been loyal customer for 15 years and have referred many friends during that time. Their services, especially "Scrub" massage has have always been on the pricer side ($75 for just 30-minutes), but I continued coming because of the quality. However, I am extremely disgusted with their new policy of charging customers an additional $40 for "insurance fee". This is outrageous and completely unheard of. Insurance is a business expense that should be covered by the business itself, NOT passed on to customers. After years of loyalty, it is very disappointing to be penalized this way. Many people are already stretching to afford these treatments, and now this fees makes it hard to justify returning - and even harder to recommend this place to others, as I have done for many years. The kids' room is now filled with arcade machines, and after my children spent about $30 each, they didn't get anything in return. I am a fan of the korean scrub and was excited when I saw this on a feed my friend sent me. My friend and I made plans to meet here on a Tuesday to relax since she was visiting from out of state. I went early in the morning to make use of the wet spa area as well as the heated rooms before my appt at 10. When I got there, the ladies up front checked me in, gave me a shirt/short and pointed me on the way. There wasn't much explanation, even when I told them this was my first time at this spa, but thankfully I had read some reviews about the general layout before starting my adventure. I loved all the rooms in the common area (coed area, clothed), but especially liked laying around in the salt room and cooling off in the ice room. After about an hour of hanging around in the common rooms, I went back inside to the wet spa area (specific gender only section, unclothed) and soaked in the hot tub. I also made use of the sauna, steam room and cold plunge area. The signs there are somewhat misleading in terms of number of people allowed (probably from COVID restrictions), but since it was early enough, there was only a few other people there. Once it was time for my appt, a lady came and found me then ushered me to the scrub/massage area. For the scrub/massage - I've had better at a different korean spa. I felt like the lady didn't do a thorough enough job with the scrub (didn't feel squeaky clean afterwards) even though she went through all the motions - and I left with scratches in some spots from the uneven pressure. The massage was also below average - not enough consistent pressure and it felt like she was just rubbing coconut oil all over me as opposed to actually kneading/working on my muscles. The hair wash, which I didn't know was included, was rough and I would have rather skipped it. I did like the facial mask that she put on me - which again, I didn't know was included. I think the site could do a much better job at the descriptions of each package. Once that was done, I went back and changed, then head back out to the common areas to take advantage of the 2-3 hours I had left in the spa. I didn't try the food court as I was by myself, but will definitely try it with a friend next time. Overall - the common rooms are wonderful and the wet area is average. I really enjoyed my time in the sweating rooms and could see any one of my friend having a relaxing time sweating it out and just lazing about. The scrub/massage is below average, but I might try it again and see if it's just the lady I got. Would definitely come back whenever I'm in the area and want to relax for a few hours while sweating out toxins and getting a nice glow. read more

Finally decided to try the I Spa. Plenty of parking. You don't need to make advanced reservations. I was able to get a 1-hour massage within two hours, i did call on the day of to reserve the massage. They split up the locker rooms with men and women but you can meet your party at the community area or at the food court. Coed salt room, sauna, ice room, and they have a kids room. But pools and lockers are male or female. They have a barber in the men's room. The massage was nice but odd as no one greets you in the room and they call you by your number on your bracelet which is also your locker number, which they provide. 6 hour maximum stay for $35 not including massage it is just to use their facilities. read more

We arrived on a Sunday at 10am. And parked in the wrong area located at the front of the building. We needed to park on the side of the building. There was plenty of parking. When entering, the staff greets us right away. All instructions are posted on the wall and in English. Payment accepted is cash, credit card, and Apple Pay. After paying the entrance fee $35 per person, the staff will provide a key to your lockers, pink shirt and short. Match the number on the key to the number on the locker. The 1st locker is for your shoes. The 2nd locker is for your clothes and any other items you wish to store. At the 2nd locker area, you'll need to change into the pink shirt and short. The towels are located in the jacuzzi area. The size of the towels are hand towels. When we went out to the coed common area, we went to the food court area for roasted eggs and rice punch drinks. After finishing the eggs and drink, we entered the coed common area to enjoy the heated floors and quiet time. Then we made our way to the sweating rooms. We started from the hottest room (Fire Room) to ending to the coldest room (Ice Room). 1st room = Fire Room 2nd room = Ondol Room 3rd room = Salt Room 4th room = Forest Room Last room = Ice Room Two hours later, we made our way to the food court area. We ate bulbogi, kalbi, spicy tofu soup, and bibimbap for 3 people. We enjoyed everything we ordered. After lunch, we went back to the women's locker room to change and go back home to take a nap. The next time we go back, the eggs and rice punch will be ordered with the main meal. The rice punch melted quickly so it wasn't as refreshing when at room temperature. This is a great place to relax and have quiet time. The 3 hours we were there went very quickly. Tips: 1. Bring water bottle 2. Bring facial mask 3. Bring a bigger towel 4. Bring soft hair tie 5. Do not wear makeup. It came off while we were sweating. 6. Do not bring a cell phone in the coed common area and sweating room. We were constantly worried that our phones would overheat. read more
