I went here yesterday. I say don't go ! save your 25 dollars for two hours. The place is rundown . There's no doors to the bathroom or on the stall. The place is very small. The sauna was not even hot , like it wasn't on. Steam room is fine very small . The place to get a scrub is kind of in the open . You can't take an outside bag in. They did let me take in my water and my flip flops. You only get two towels . The guys there give off a weird vibe . There's plenty of free parking in the front. So while my massage was fantastic, that was about it. The two hour limit is really pretty restrictive, and $30 is what you pay for a higher-end location... I get inside and it's... dated. Definitely smaller, definitely less modern. Worst part, getting there at 11:30am after they opened at 11:00am... it was clear that they'd just turned everything on AT 11:00am. The sauna was room temperature plus 10 degrees. The steamroom cool enough that the tile was cold to the touch. The hot tub was lukewarm. The warm tub was cold. The cold tub was ice cold. I asked for a scrub and was told no... the (one) wet area table was broken, but I could get a massage. Two stars out of five because the massage therapist was great... but no scrub... tiny dated facility... and everything was cold/lukewarm an hour after opening. Just... not great. read more

I have been a regular customer over the last few years and discovered recently that they have raised their price of admission from $ 30 to $ 40 for a 2 hour visit. It was not long ago that the price was $ 25. It is just too much as there have been no improvements. The dry sauna is old and worn out, the steam room is okay, not very hot. Anabal is great at massage and scrubs. The place is small and dated, but it's great for relaxing, and one of the best massage around. Perfect pressure. Asian front desk lady is great. But... The Latina front desk "manager" is a monster. I went once after shoulder surgery. I was going to physical therapy and had to Jacuzzi my arm to warm it up prior to pt... Doctor's orders. Jacuzzi and sauna weren't working, so I dressed and exited, requesting a refund. I explained the situation and said I'd need to be going to my gym or another establishment to warm up my shoulder. She said too bad. No refund. I was there for probably 10 minutes and I left pissed. Went again on another occasion and everything was fine. Great massage, as usual. I left and was 15 minutes over the tkme limit and the B tries to charge me $15 extra! Told her not happening.... Just use the $$ that I paid last time for the 10 minutes I was there. read more

For starters, there's a two hour time limit, and I could've spent less time there if it wasn't so expensive. I thought it'd be $20-25 for 2 hours. After walking in with my small backpack, I was told I wasn't allowed to take that in -which is weird...I went to my car and dropped it off but made sure to bring my refillable water bottle--You're given 3 small towels- I suggest saving 2 in your locker to dry off with after your final shower before leaving, but you do you) and padlock lockers (you have the key jangling around with you). It's $30 which is the same price as every other Korean spa in Orange County for general admission. 4 standing showers that barely have any water pressure, a small dingy dry sauna that's hardly heated, one warm tub that is drained and out of commission for the time being, a cloudy/murky hot tub, and they have a policy about charging at least $15 if you stay over your two hours -if you stay an additional hour you have to pay another $30. The only semi nice thing was the steam room because it wasn't too hot and came on in good intervals- con, the steam room door doesn't fully shut so it has to be pulled closed to seal. Pro, there's a hose inside, which is a nice way to refresh yourself and a great tool to spray the semen down the drain! I'd bring sandals if I were you. I wouldn't go here again by choice and if I could go back in time, I would have spent my $30 at a different KSpa with no time limit, been able to take my belongings in with me, and would have actually relaxed because I'm not watching the clock to make sure I'm not charged extra fees...on TOP of being able to enjoy a functional and clean facility. If you're trying to cruise, at least respect yourself enough to cruise at a different KSpa. You'll be glad you did. read more

This is not your traditional Korean spa. Most of people go there for other reasons. It is what it is. I went on a Monday early afternoon around 130pm. The front desk Korean lady is very kind. I spoke to her if I could get a large towel, and she explained to me that's for clients with massage appointments. She did give me another small towel. The facility is in good condition. After I walk in through the front desk, I went into the locker room where I can put all my personal belongings away. Through the glass door, I came into the spa area. It is a high ceiling building with 4 shower stalls on my left hand side and a large warm pool on the right side. There are a steam room and a dry sauna room. Saturday, I feel so stressed and since I heard that this spa is newly remodeled and that it is located on my way home, I decided to stop by and check the place out. I got lost on my way to this place, maybe because it's located on a not so visible location and that there is no sign by the street. But since I am one of the thriving Homo sapiens, I figured my way to the spa, of course. The parking is not-so-plenty, as the spa is located in a strip mall that shares parking lot, though I was able to park in front of it during my visit. From the outsie, you would think that the spa do not offer much, as in a typical spa. Once in, you can tell that the place is like new. By the way, it's my first time in this place. The receptionist speaks English, yes. They are having a 20% discount for all of their services, so I got in and decided to get a body scrub for only $32 total, regular price is $40. They will give you a large bath towel, and a small towel and the locker key. On your way in the men's spa, you can grab a coffee, as it's there for free. There is no shoe locker, only a shoe rack located near the locker for your belongings. Inside the wet area/spa, there are 4 standing shower stations with glass divider located on the side wall in front of the hot pool and napping chairs, so it's really something if you don't like to be the live entertainment of the prying eyes. There are also 4 sitting shower stations. All of the shower stations have shampoo, conditioner, and soap in them. There is a hot pool, warm, and cold jacuzzi. The scrubbing station is located by the warm pool, so again it's something when you are getting scrubbed and other clients are in the warm jacuzzi watching you getting scrubbed live.There is a steam room, and a dry sauna which both are fairly clean. I've gotten body scrubs from other spas, and this one is the harshest and roughest though the best scrub I have ever gotten. The guy really did an awesome job. Mini massage, and mini acupressure in between, and it's really a 30 minute scrub. Note: The regular $15 admission fee, is only for maximum of 2 hours, and you cannot extend it, even if you want to pay more. Only one large bath towel, and a tiny one. No other rooms/amenities, only those mentioned above. Not too many Asians, mostly were Whites. No kids, so you really can rest and relax in here. They provide toothbrush/paste, slippers, disposable shaver, and shaving gel. Qtips, lotion, hair gel as well. The lighting on the wet spa is not too bright, just fine. Guys if you need your skin softer and feel cleaner, their scrub is recommendable. I am giving this 4 stars. Amenities were less than what I have expected. I have expected so much more. read more

Misleading So! I use to enjoy their saunas .. that is up until poor management came along. I'd pay a steady cost every time up until I met the front desk girl I'm thinking maybe she is the manager, possibly the owner? I'd call to make an appointment again and the price goes up $10 and I'm like hm, whatever but then I'd call again and the prices are now just everywhere and then I'm like... yeah, you shouldn't do this! Wi Spa in LA charges $35, it's a well maintained clean spa with modern amenities that include a restaurant, and a rooftop terrace. Wi is open 24/7 and has no ridiculous time limit. Irvine Spa also charges $35, it too is clean, modern and well maintained. The time limit here is 6 hours, very generous indeed. Like Wi, Irvine also has numerous modern amenities like a great restaurant. At Wi and Irvine you feel pampered, and that makes the $35 admission worth it. So why on earth is Thera, a smaller, dingy, outdated "spa" with not a single amenity the other two have, charging the same $35; and on top of that imposing a ridiculously restrictive 2 hour limit? It's hard to relax and feel any pampering when the place looks like 1983 and you have to keep your eye on the clock to not go over and get charged again. If Thera is gonna charge the same amount as the nice spas, then it needs to be better than it is...or seriously reconsider their silly 2 hour limit! read more

There are no actual doors to the segregated areas, men's to the right, womens to the left, no co-ed areas like other kspas. There are hand written signs in various locations on the wall in the locker/dressing/tv room (all the same room but kinda sectioned off weirdly) that say things like, "please we are not responsible for lost / stolen items" and "please put your shoes inside your locker" or "turn key slowly not hard in lock!" broken english aside, the spa has what it needs to be a spa: showers - both standing and seated, a hot tub with crazy jets, a "warm" tub with room temperature water and standing room only, a cold tub also standing room only, a steam wet sauna and a dry sauna. There's a weird mirror on the wall adjacent to the dry sauna door, not sure what for.. maybe to help attendants and others see inside without having to actually go in? meh. There's also a semi-private scrubbing station on the other side of the seated showers. The massages are done through a door near the main entrance lobby (with the other door going into the dressing/locker area. there's also a single occupancy restroom. There's no sleeping or dark room, so you just have to sleep out in the wet spa area, which is noisy and not dark.. so good luck with that. Or you can sleep in the locker/dressing area by the tv, but also good luck with that. Parking is plentiful in the lot as it shares with many other businesses. The famous Cream Pan is also in the same lot / area, so if you're hungry for a snack, you could always go there afterwards. Overall, i wouldn't come back here if I had a choice, and living in OC, i definitely have choices. For $20, it's not worth it. MAYBE $15 or even better, a Groupon like Spa Renaissance has.. but not $20 flat out. Other spas have more amenities and cleaner/better kept conditions for less money. read more

I was desperate for a massage the other day and there was a lot of soreness in my neck and shoulders. I asked around and my friend Patty M recommended this place. Since it was not far from me and they were able to accommodate at a time which suited me, I went in for an oil massage. The facility itself looks so much smaller from the outside. When I arrived, I was given a robe, some towels and a key to a locker. I promptly went into the women's area and changed into my robe. When I was ready, my masseuse Kristina was ready to take me into the room for my massage. This isn't Burke Williams and I have no experiences with Korean spas so I can't compare it to that, but it was definitely much better than Massage Envy. The room is no frills and there is no aromatics in the room. The acoustics are loud because it is not a closed up room so you can hear the on-goings outside when customers come into the facility and are walking around. However, the pricing is reasonable. My oil massage is $60 and you get a full 60 minutes. Kristina will apply pressure according to your liking. I had quite a bit of pain and she proceeded to get it all out. When the massage is over, you can use the spa facilities such as the steam room and the various "pools". I went into that area to shower -- it is all in the same area -- so if you are showering and there are people in the spa area, you don't get much privacy. I hear at Korean spas you are pretty much in a communal area everywhere so I guess this isn't much different. The shower area supplies you with shampoo, conditioner and body soap and there are essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste and razors. When you are done, there is lotion, hairbrushes, hair dryers etc for your usage. I got the Korean Body Scrub and it was great. They have two types of scrubbing pads. One is the normal one Im used to and another is rougher/harsher. Lee started out with the latter and when I asked her to soften up, she switched to the normal scrubbing pad, then proceeded to alternate between the two. I agree with other reviews that the scrub is a more intense. I dont mind it because I have dry skin that doesn't exfoliate well and I need this service badly. For someone who already has normal, soft skin, I'd recommend going for another treatment vs. the scrub. The price is why I gave Thera a try. At most places, a scrub only (no massage) is normally $45 + admission ($20). Thats what the Irvine spa charges. But at Thera the admission fee is waived with purchase of a service so the total is only $45+tips. LOVE it! Another bonus is that Lee's English is good... certainly the best of the scrubbing ladies I have interacted with. UPDATE: It is 1 day later and I noticed a bunch of little red bumps that's popped up all over my body. I think the bumps will go away in a few days but I guess folks are right - the scrub is too rough.
