Working with Matthew Breston was one of the most positive experiences I have ever had in terms of customer service. My boyfriend and I reached out about 1.5 years before purchasing our first home to gain some insight on what steps to take in order to be prepared for our purchase. He took the time to review our finances at the time and then walk us through what we needed to do to get our first home. When the time came, we were completely prepared based on the guidance provided. Matthew really went above and beyond in the level of customer service he provided us with. He is the most responsive person I have ever worked with in a professional capacity. No matter when I reached out, he always answered immediately which was not always expected but greatly appreciated. Buying a home is a huge deal to the buyer but Matthew's commitment to our success made me feel that it was just as important to him which is incredibly reassuring in what is typically considered a very stressful time. I cannot imagine having done business with anyone else and am without a doubt a customer for life. Thank you Matthew! read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Matthew Breston and Iron Harbor Mortgage! I just completed the process of purchasing a home, and while this was a brand new experience for me, it was a lot less daunting having Matthew on my side. He was always available for questions, he was extremely diligent in having me get all necessary documentation in order, and the Good Faith Estimate he provided on how much each element of this purchase would cost was spot on! "No surprises" was the promise while working with Iron Harbor Mortgage, and that's exactly what they provided. Everything that I needed to provide was clear. Everything that was required of me was clear. I was provided with all relevant documentation prior to closing and kept abreast of what was going on at all times. It was also wonderful how accurate the estimates were and how smooth the whole process was. Iron Harbor Mortgage is fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with my new home purchase. Thanks Matthew! read more

Matthew Breston did an amazing job with everything from start to finish. I filled out a pre-qualification form online, and he called me within minutes on a Saturday and received an email with quotes a couple days later, and just like that we were pre-qualified. His quotes break down every cost you can expect as well as offer multiple options. For example, if you want to lower your APR you would have a higher closing cost, or you can lower your closing cost for a higher APR. When we finally decided to use Iron Harbor, we sent him everything we needed and made sure we knew what was happening every step of the way. He was also responsive to text messages! Overall, everything went very smooth and both our real estate agent and escrow agent were very impressed with him. Thank you for everything Matthew! read more

"I can honestly say Matthew made my first home buying experience a very pleasant one. From our first conversation he explained each and every option that was available to me and I never felt pressured into any decision. My phone calls were handled in a professional and timely manner. All in all I really couldn't imagine my home buying process being any easier. Even now that the deal is done I would still feel 100% comfortable calling Matthew with any questions. He extended his expertise beyond the scope of the business deal and I look forward to contacting Brent for my next home purchase. Thanks for everything Matthew!! Definitely looking forward to recommend his services to all my friends, short story he is Honest Man with upfront explanations for all line items. read more

Working with Matthew at Iron Harbor was one of the best parts of purchasing my second home. Matt was not only extremely professional but saved me thousands of dollars all while rushing to meet a very difficult closing timeline. He was extremely helpful in helping us understand where we felt comfortable as it related to our initial offer which was beneficial when it came to contract negotiations. Once we were under contract we had delays in repair construction that delayed our closing date by 45days. Matthew was there every step of the way constantly checking the market for improved rates and ensuring we were in the best position come closing. Again if you are looking for a great lender who will have your back from start to finish look no further!!! read more

I recently did a refi with Matthew, at the recommendation of a good friend and realtor who works with him. Matthew is the most transparent, responsive, and thorough person I think I've ever worked with, for a mortgage or in my professional life. I wish more people I work with on anything were as competent and professional as Matthew. He is the most "on it" person with whom I've ever had the pleasure of doing business. When I comparison shopped around, no one could even come close to matching his terms. There was a credit reporting agency issue (incorrect derogatory remark) that Matthew personally helped to clear up and the entire refi process took less than 3 weeks. I cannot recommend Iron Harbor enough. read more

We have worked with Matthew on two separate transactions. The main reason for the positive review is customer service that is above and beyond the norm. Matthew takes a cumbersome process and makes it very easy for his clients. He makes himself available at any time and displays a work ethic that is very rare these days. The second reason for the positive review is transparency. Matthew goes out of his way to make sure that you understand every aspect of your transaction. He has a wealth of knowledge of his business and a deep understanding of the market. Doing business with Matthew is efficient, informative, and pleasant. I will gladly transact with him in the future and refer my friends and family. read more

He is easy to work with and was available when needed to accommodate my work schedule. He was thorough in showing me the pros and cons for all the options and made sure I understood what I was doing. I went to closing with confidence in the process and comfortable with all the numbers because they matched exactly what we had discussed prior to closing. We were referred to Matt and Iron Harbor Mortgage from a friend, and I could not be more grateful! As first-time homebuyers, my husband and I really didn't know what to expect when applying for loans. We reached out to Matt early on and he was able to give us a good idea of how our VA loan could affect the mortgage approval process. Matt is incredibly responsive; we never had to wait more than a few minutes to hear back from him when we had questions, and he worked well with our realtor. Most importantly, he got us an amazing rate! Thank you Iron Harbor Mortgage for making our first house purchase a BREEZE! read more

To say Matthew is amazing is an understatement. We wanted to close quickly and were originally going to use USAA. My brother suggested we at least talk to Matthew first. This was the best decision we could have made. He walked us through everything and explained it in detail. When I didn't understand something, he was awesome at going over it again and making sure it was clear. He went above and beyond, responding at all hours. Not only were we able to close early, we could have closed a week earlier than we planned because of Matthew. The entire process was amazing. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Matthew at Iron Harbor during the purchase of our new home earlier this year. Matthew was extremely thorough, very organized, always accessible, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. We recently moved to Austin from overseas and we were lucky enough to work with Matthew Breston of Iron Harbor Mortgage on our first home purchase. Matthew was very patient, informative and took all of the stress out of the process. Matthew is a true professional, available day and night to answer questions. He made sure we were advised of the best possible deals and I always felt he was acting in my interest versus self-interest. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matthew to others. read more

Thanks to Matthew, this was the quickest and smoothest real estate transaction I've ever been involved with. One lender actually said my deal was not possible because I already own a home, but Matthew not only made it work, but was able to get me an amazing interest rate. Mortgage lending is a complicated business and there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Matthew really goes above and beyond for his customers, and I hope our paths cross again. read more

Matthew, Thanks for all your help over the last several weeks. Closing yesterday went very smoothly. I know these are busy times, but the time you took to explain options and lay out alternatives was very helpful. Given your efforts in laying out several scenarios, I'm sure we made long term decisions that will not be second guessed a year or two down the road. Again - Thank You for all your efforts... much appreciated!!! read more

I worked with Matthew to buy my first house earlier this year. The Austin market is incredibly difficult to navigate right now, but Matthew was great in guiding me through the process, lining up the lender and getting my eventual deal closed quickly.
