I went here one time with my legal teachers party on the veranda one after noon and it was nice old building and the food was good.

But I could join the Irish club if I wanted to for $44 a year…read more For this, the kind Irish gentleman informed me, I could get a free meal and drink on my birthday, and discounts to city parking and other things around the place. That was pretty cool I said but I was with friends and wanted to try out the food. Plus, I was hungry. The Bunratty Bistro was where we sat our 4 weary bums down and the food we got there was something else. It was a Tuesday night and it was Steak Night for $7. That was pretty good being in the city, where else would you get that... 200g guaranteed Rump or Sirloin? Not many places bar the backpackers let me tell you. And you're not even sure what part of steak you're getting there (sometimes it's very stringy and questionable). If you're not into your steaks, there are $7 toasted sandwiches, chicken burgers, and other things from the menu that will set you back $18-$20 like the Guiness Beef Pie or the Beer Battered Barramundi (pretty juicy). But for $17.50 for a seafood basket for 1, it's pretty good value. And it's hearty damnit!

Guys and dolls alike who work here have a thick Irish lilt that lulls you into a nice daze and has you nodding without conscious thought as you order drinks. They have some pretty swanky function room areas upstairs that I've found are great for gigs and live music. Downstairs you'll find your true Irishmen and Irish enthusiasts and, as you can probably assume, this area gets a little wilder as the night wears on. Keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. Also, they were serving $5 pints of Corona when I was there. A pint guys, for $5. That's pretty excellent value so I'll pay that. Get the best of Irish culture when you come here and enjoy a cheap pint.

It's a rarity to find a pub or bar in the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise where the staff actually enjoy working there. It definitely makes a difference to the venue's vibe! The bar staff also enjoy a good chat and a bit of banter across the bar and this is one of the few Irish pubs in Surfers that actually employees Irish people! Not only adding to the atmosphere, but it means there are staff who can actually pour a good pint of Guinness! There is live music most nights of the week from 9pm, with a band on every Friday and Saturday night. True to their roots there is also traditional Irish entertainment there every Sunday afternoon. In terms of food it has a great range of pub style food at great prices. I've found the food to always be amazing, even the specials (usually $10-15) are spot on! You definitely can't go past the $10 steaks that they do for lunch and dinner! One of the main things that I LOVE about the food here is that they stick to what they're good at; good quality pub-style food at a reasonable price! This is a great pub that caters for everyone, from families, to older couples and young 20-somethings looking for a good night out, there is something for everyone in Fiddlers. This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the owners and management! See you there!

I have visited Finnigan's Chin numerous times over the past 3 years, and find the atmosphere to be pretty down to earth, the staff to be friendly and the food and drinks to be of a reasonable price and quality. Don't visit expecting really trendy pub food, though if you enjoy a good steak, Chicken Schnitzel or Bangers and Mash along with a drink, then you should leave feeling satisfied. Finnigan's Chin often does raffles around dinner time, giving you the chance to win a meat tray or a drink voucher, which can be a bit of fun. There is plenty of free parking around the establishment.

I went there for a cheap feed with my wife one night and we both decided to get the chicken schnitzel that was a bargain for fewer than ten dollars. A couple of drinks and thirty minutes later our plates were served. The schnitzel was of a pretty standard size, the standard of what you would buy at Woolies. The salad was freshish and was heavily coated in a vinegarette. The chips were on the soggy side of crisp and I suspect had been in the hot bin for a while. I'll be honest. If I come back, I wont be ordering the same meal because I know I could have prepared the same thing better and in less time at home.
