DO NOT GET WAXING HERE!! I have been coming to this salon for my nails for awhile and to save myself an extra trip booked a Brazilian wax here for the first time What I got was a hot mess. The lady did not have any training on Brazilians. She used the wax for your face with muslin strips. I even asked her if she was using body wax and she said yes. This was not true. She used scissors!!! To trim My hair and tweezers. Twice I had to tell her to stop because my skin was so irrirated from Her going over and over it again. Not using the right kind of wax is what got us here. When I got home and could see in a mirror the results I was horrified. It is a crazy patch job and my skin is on fire! I called and spoke with Van who runs the place. She could have cared less. Did not apologize or offer to make it right. All she said was she will tell the lady. Lost a customer I won't go back and have my nails done there either. Don't offer services that your employees aren't trained on and have the correct products to perform the service!! read more

My daughter and I realized we needed her nails done for a competition the next morning, and even though we couldn't make it till 30 mins before closing, they still let us in and provided wonderful service. I was half anticipating annoyed or slightly grouchy artists, but they were so welcoming, even though they fit us in last minute. They took their time and did a beautiful job on both my spa pedicure AND my daughter's teeny tiny little tip nails. I have been going to Wendy for a gel manicure for several months now. She is very meticulous, my polish lasts a few weeks & then I go back because they have grown out. Otherwise, I could go longer. Clean, polished and peaceful-exactly what you want from a nail spa. I do love a good massage chair and here the chairs are extremely comfortable with many options for back massages. There is a lot of attention to sanitation and hygiene: the glass basins get covered with plastic for every client, the nail tools are autoclaved and Van, the manager, is always meticulously disinfecting chairs and equipment after each person leaves. My manicurist is spectacular. She transforms my feet and her leg massage is 10/10. I'm not gonna reveal her name because she is busy and I don't want to lose my spot! read more

I came in for a gel pedicure yesterday and the manager was super friendly and helpful in picking out a color. The color I had in mind originlly would have been too sheer, and she made sure to advise me so that I'd like the end result. I believe Megan did my pedicure. She was very gentle and neat. My toes look great. I don't get pedicures often because I don't usually find them enjoyable, but the experience yesterday was very pleasant. Also, the shop is very clean and sanitary. It pains me to be writing this review. I have been coming to Iris Nails for about a year now. Up until today, everything was great. Some employees are better than others but all in all, they do a great job. And yes, Van is awesome. However, today there was an incident that caused me to question whether I'll continue to be a customer. I don't know her name but the manicurist's hand slipped and the electric filer (I don't know what you call it) took off some of my skin on my thumb. Granted, accidents happen. But here is where my confidence was shattered. Van tried desperately to stop the bleeding. I had asked for some neosporin and she didn't have any. And it seemed that she didn't have a first aid kit. NOT COOL. She did go to Kroger and buy some. I also had a pedicure and that was fine. When paying I was hoping to hear that my manicure was paid for ( I was happy to pay for my pedicure). Nope. All Van could offer was a 20% discount and asked if that was ok. I said no and would be happy to talk to the owners. That was not an option. Van said that if she offered it to be comped, it would come out of her paycheck. I believe any other business would have not only comped my manicure but offered a free one in the future. Well I thought I would try out a new salon.....after the reviews I thought this might be my new home. It was the end of the day so I'm going to assume the techs were tired. Not much convo or exchange of pleasantries. My pedicure is awesome but these nails are a tad suspect. I asked for solar but ended up with gel somehow. Even after mentioning they were uneven during application she kept going. I have bubbles and white dust in what is supposed to be a clear French manicure. They tip portion is not the same on all nails. After all was said and done and $114 dollars later ....I won't be back. I pay for a service and I expect that. They charged me separately for acrylic on one big toe, French tip and take off and no one has done that before. Just nickle and dime versus business retention is the way to go nowadays. I went with my two daughters for a manicure and pedicure for all 3 of us. The service was great both times. They listened to my teenage daughter's idea and were willing to work it out with her. Even though it was close to the time they close. They were so friendly and patient. They didn't take any short cut like other places if it was close to the time when the salon close. I have been to this location a few times and usually get the same thing - mani/pedi. I have a had a variety of employees and some stick out more than others. The lady at the front desk is always friendly and their facilities are very clean. Most recently, I got dip powder with extensions and the experience was not that great. The technician made all of my nails curve rather than keep them straight and she caused me to bleed after aggressively shaping my nails with her file. She noticed the cut and still kept going (ouch). When I finally pointed it out, she apologized but the service was okay. I have noticed the men are much more technical and precise when doing nails. Overall, the service is usually good for the price but I will not continue to get anything outside of my basic mani/pedi just to stay safe. read more
