I was assigned to this doctor by my health insurance. I called during the hours they say they are open on the phone's recorded message. When I pressed 3 or whatever for an appointment, a lady answered and said, "Yes?" and then snapped at me when I explained I was a new patient who needed an appointment and said they were closed and that I should call back on Monday. Who answers the phone if they are closed? Why didn't she explain that from the start? Extremely rude customer service. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Jasper's for about 3 years. I absolutely loved her, but her staff is horrible, especially her office assistant named Patty. She doesn't seem to understand simple information, misfiles paperwork and is generally really dumb and unfriendly. Even though Dr. Jasper herself is great, I've had to drop her and get a new primary care doctor because of the shoddy office work. Patty has misfiled some of my doctor's notes, which were important to present for my work since I'm on medical leave! Dr. Jasper is herself a very sweet, friendly and caring doctor, always listens to her patients thoroughly and even asks personal questions about your life, remembers some important details. She's Russian, like myself, and can be often heard chattering away on her cell in Russian. She's got a great sense of humor as well! She just needs to drop her terrible office assistant, and a couple of her nurses, who seem cold and don't know how to give a shot. That dumb bitch, Patty, is the reason I have to stop seeing a great physician. So, conclusion: Dr. Jasper is great, but beware of her staff. read more

Run! I've gone to a highly respected dr. In Pasadena or the last 4 years but decided to switch as he was a family friend and I wanted to utilize my insurance. Mistake number one! Going from such a amazing doctors office to this one was just horrible the staff there is unfriendly encourage irresponsibility and they are unwilling to work with patients. I've only been there once but they rescheduled on me and did not call to let me know I showed up and the place was closed they call me the next day to tell me my appointment was rescheduled Uhhh duh I figured that one out YESTERDAY! When I did see the doctor she was very sweet and helpful but her staff is horrible. When I had a recent medical problem they were so rude and I hope there kids never have to be picked up from a school because when telling them I couldn't make an appointment because I had to pick up children from school that day patty said "it's not my problem let them stay" yeah you let a seven year old worry about where their ride is. Heartless! Mistake number two dr jasper allowing patty to work at her office! If you have all the time in the world and don't mind taking days off of work and not being helped and having to take more days sign up with this doctor otherwise run. I had only one experience in this office and it will be my last. Unfortunately, this office is extremely CHEAP. I requested for a copy of my results and the lady at the front desk said they can only fax it or I must mail them an envelope with a stamp because apparently they are too CHEAP to provide one. Complete lack of compassion for those suffering from mental illness. Avoid this woman and her heartless staff. Dr Jasper has been my general practitioner for over 5 years. I cannot afford insurance and office visits without it are not exactly easy to afford when you're struggling financially. For this reason I've been unable to see the dr for about 3 years. When I called to make an appointment to receive a signature for jury duty excusal (I suffer from extreme depression all and severe social anxiety) I was told the dr was very busy but they would call me back to let me know when I could come in and it would be $80 for the office visit and $20 for the paperwork. 2 days later a very rude office woman called and abruptly informed me that "Dr Jasper does not offer excuses for any patients for any reason". She then tried to get me off the phone as quickly as possible so she wouldn't have to listen to my confusion and inquiries regarding a reasonable explanation for this. I was told that since I hadn't seen the dr in 3 years she was no longer my dr. I was then told to "just see another dr". I explained that Dr Jasper was the only dr who had a clear understanding of my medical history since she was the only dr I had seen and she had treated my mental illness. If she felt comfortable enough to prescribe me medication why then was she not comfortable signing a document that confirmed that I had the mental illness she was treating me for? I would understand if the dr had never met with me before but she had treated me and prescribed medication for both my depression and anxiety on several occasions over the course of a few years. I was not some random person off the street maybe looking to avoid serving out of laziness or inconvenience. The woman on the phone asked who else I had been seeing during those 3 years even after I explained about my lack of insurance. I explained that I had seen no one else and had not been able to see Dr Jasper or afford medication because of my financial situation. No reason was provided for why I couldn't speak to the dr directly or come in for an office visit to speak with her and I was then told that she would call back the following day. No one has gotten back to me at all. I'm shocked by how dismissive the receptionist who called me was. Her tone of voice suggested that I was a nuisance and should just hang up and leave her alone. I asked several times what I was supposed to do if my dr was refusing to sign the jury duty excusal. I have panic attacks in social situations and could not serve. I was then told to just say I have a full time job and can't take time off of work. I had to explain to her that government doesn't find having a full time job a valid excuse and that I needed to tell them the actual reason I wasn't able to. She just didn't care. When will society stop stigmatizing those with mental illness? Why are even doctors and their staff unable to understand or offer compassion? While Dr Jasper was never rude during my appointments she must be held responsible for a staff that treats patients so callously. She is also at fault for refusing to even speak with a patient by phone and refusing an office visit for someone suffering from mental illness. I will never seek help or medical assistance from Dr Jasper again and I would advise anyone else who is looking for a kind, professional or caring doctor to look elsewhere. read more

Dr. Jasper is my all time favorite doctor. She is very knowledgeable and knows what she is talking about. I was a patient about 5 yrs ago for about 5 yrs. Unfortunately I had to change my medical and leave Dr. Jasper. I have had repeated issues with my current PCP and desperately needed to see a doctor that I trust, would listen to my health issues and devise a plan to solve my problems and get me healthy again. My need to see a doctor was urgent and last minute. Dr. Jasper was not only able to get me in right away but also sat down and took the time to listen to me discuss my health issues. Dr. Jasper is the kind of doctor you can count on. The office staff and nurses are wonderful! It's so hard for me to believe all the bad reviews here, even before yelp came along I always had raved about Dr. Jasper to friends and family. I have even referred family to her, because she that great. Sure I get the privacy thing, but seriously... for the complainants, since you're listening, have you ever heard enough info to know everything about other patients. I think Dr. Jasper is awesome. She is a no nonsense Russian woman doctor who may come across as cold, but she is just Russian. Last week, I had been the sickest I have been in years. I couldn't breathe, had a fever of 102 and was coughing so hard it was making me sick. I called Dr. Jasper and the nur se said that I could come in the same day. I did have to wait an hour or so to be seen, but I didn't care that much because there were about six people ahead of me. The only reason Dr. Jaspers office doesn't get five stars is because the front desk girls need to be a little nicer. Once I was seen by Dr. Jasper, she immediately told me I had bronchitis and it was good that I came in. I don't have insurance and the visit cost me $60 - I walked out of there with antibiotics, an advair breather and a prescription for codine cough syrup. I'm grateful for Dr. Jasper not only for myself but because she helped diagnose my mothers breast cancer and save her life. read more

Her office contacted me with referrals and lab results very quickly - within a day or two. As a new patient, her office staff pulled my necessary records right away and Dr. Jasper was up-to-spped quickly. I've been going to Dr. Jasper for about 6 years now and I'm very satisfied with her practice. Her staff is not the friendliest but they are not rude. I go to see the doctor and could care less about her front desk assistance. Dr. Jasper has always treated me with respect and care and I feel she spends enough time with me. It's true that she can be rushed sometimes but I never leave her practice feeling that I am not taken care of. A reasonably good medical doctor but her business practices and chronic billing mistakes caused me significant time and effort over a 4 year period. 99% of the time the billing was wrong and I had to fix it - in other words I was always having to do their work for them if I wanted the bill to be accurate and correct. Additionally, after being an established patient she double billed a preventative visit when she had not been billing that way before plus, that visit was only 15 minutes. She should have followed precedence, or told me up front when she asked me if I had anymore questions that if I brought up an issue beyond what the preventative care covered, that I would be billed in addition to the preventative care office visit. She did not do so, nor respond to several letters of concern. Not worth going thru since there are many fine doctors in the Pasadena area. I experienced no follow up, inability to correct billing mistakes and long periods of time before they would be sorted out. read more

I am not the only person who thinks Dr. Jasper is wonderful--when I have mentioned that she is my primary care physician at other medical offices, they often know her and respect her and speak highly of her. Just the other day a prominent surgeon told me that she was a brilliant doctor and that he trusted her implicitly. I agree. She is caring, thorough, and a good listener. She is knowledgeable and though she is sensitive, she's no-nonsense at the same time and is committed to partnering with me--that's what I want in a doctor. The same goes for the staff she surrounds herself with. Helpful, attentive, responsive--I'm thinking particularly of Stephanie and Catherine. Stephanie has a terrific sense of humor, is competent, smart and capable. Catherine is friendly, welcoming, responsive and goes the extra mile. I'm 60 years old and I've looked nearly my whole adult life for a place that makes a doctor visit a pleasure instead of something to be dreaded. I was referred to her by a friend and have referred others who have become regular patients. That's a strong endorsement. read more
